Let me just begin with the quantity that this place serves- IT IS A LOT😄. So if you plan to visit with your boyfriend or girlfriend or spouse kindly keep in mind the portion that this place offers. Secondly its best you take all your folks to this place as the more the merrier as you can order a variety of food items offered from the menu. Now coming to food taste- its filling for sure but you can easily overeat at such a place. We had to suffer as we ordered more than we could devour and was literally stopped by the server. Prices are pocket friendly and quantity is GREAT. Over all a must visit for all interested Tibetan food lovers.

A small restaurant with amazing food. It's a small place, accomodating 24 around people at once. You may have to wait in line so keep a lot of time in hand while while visiting. We ordered, chicken cheese momo (had big sized 10 pc of momos with delicious taste), american chop suey (this is my second time having this dish in my life and I must say this one was very tasty) and chicken thukpa (they gave 2 bowls and said they divided one serving into 2). Chicken cheese momo steamed is a must try. Beware that their portion is a lot.

Pathetic experience in queue..disturbing and over egoistic behavior from the employees..people always are ready to wait to get good taste of unique foods..being a resturant owner, I must say behavior can not and must not showcase ego..you should share your open timings, staff lunch timings very clearly from before, so that people don't wait in the queue and suddenly got to know that the staffs are on lunch break..resturant will open after 1.5 hours... Getting queue out of the store is a blessing..it should not be like " humne bola hai aapko khara rehne ko??mat rahiye..chala jaiye"... The foods were great..just great..the cooks were very special!! Not sure about the manager/serving staff/owner...

Best restaurant in Darjeeling. All the momos/dumplings and wanton soups are great. Amazingly respectful system of owner, employees and customers: they stop from 1:30 to 2:30 so the staff can eat; meanwhile customers wait patiently outside with huge smiles waiting for the open. Huge respect.

Honestly speaking, I have found this place heavily OVER-RATED. The waiting line🚶🏼‍♂️🚶🏼‍♂️is horrific, as well as their 'ventilation' system. Waited almost 30 minutes 🕡to get in. The interior was very basic, and there is a very strong, spicy-oily smell for the weak exhaust system. Now, let's talk about their foods. Tried 'Chicken Steam Momos🥟' and 'Chicken Thukpa🍜'. In fact, they didn't know about their foods availability while taking orders.🙄 The momos were really good, but not justified the price tag of 270+ applicable GST👎🏻.(10 pieces) The Thukpa was like okay-okay for us and some other customers.😕 Frankly speaking, I don't have any past ideas or old glories about them. Every foods quality and taste is purely 'subjective' to their subjects. Hence, I'm not starting any debate(s) about them. It's solely 'MY OPINION'.✅ Not recommending at all... Scored 6/10 in my test.

One of the most crowded place you will visit in Darjeeling. The food is exceptional and definitely worth the wait. We had chicken fried rice, mixed wai wai soup, chicken thumps and momos. Try anything you want and without a doubt it will taste good.

Every time I visit Darjeeling have to visit this restaurant. This restaurant is complete value for money, the food price and the portion combined. They have embedded the menu on the restaurant table itself. Their momos were awesome. It's cash only restaurant, and prices are also reasonable. Highly recommend.

Worth the price!!!! A must visit to this restaurant if you are a Tibetian food lover. The prices are a bit on the higher side but the quality and quantity you get makes up for it. We ordered Egg fried rice, veg fried momo, pork fried momo and chicken cheese steam momo. Completely loved it! And the servers were kind too! Due to lack of seating space, there could be longer waiting time during peak seasons.

Kunga is the one stop destination for authentic Tibetan delicacy.the restaurant is small and cozy. The menu is vast starting from shakes to thukpa to rice noodles. My personal favourite is chicken thukpa, pork chilli, chicken fried rice. The restaurant is equally popular among locals. Both dine in and take away facilities are available. As the restaurant is very popular during the tourist season there used to be a long waiting queue outside the restaurant .

Kunga is without any doubt the best restaurant in town. This place serves amazing Chinese and local foods. The place is open from 10am to 6pm, and accept only CASH. Situated few yards from Keventer's, this is one small eatery with limited seats and one needs to wait for atleast 20-30 mins before entering here. We ordered atleast 20mins before entering while we sat outside and after entering they gave us the food almost after 10-15 mins. But, OMG, what an amazing food that was!! 😍 We ordered chicken momo, pork fried rice, chili pork, chicken garlic and chicken thentuk. IT was undoubtedly the best momo and fried rice that I had ever tried. Other items were equally amazing. The price is very less compared to the taste and quality. In a place full of Keventer's, Glenary's and what not, this is one hidden gem that has different level of food. It is for sure a 200% try, if someone is coming to Darjeeling. Don't even try to miss it for anything.

One of the famous restaurant in Darjeeling. Taste of the food is really good. And nothing to say about the quantity, one portion can be shared by 2-3 person according to individual capacity. Variety of food option is there. Service is also very good. But 1 problem that everyone might face there is that, the place is very small. That's why you can feel a rush hours in that place and there is also a wait line to enter. Takeaway also available but dine in is recommended from me. Overall ratings:- 1. Food- 10/10 2. Quantity- 10/10 3. Price- 9/10 4. Service & Behaviour- 10/10 5. Ambience- 7/10

A must visit place if you are in Darjeeling. You can't miss it if you are strolling along mall road towards the clock tower. With just four tables and a sitting capacity of hardly 20 people, be prepared for long queues in front of this joint. Best is to get there before 12.30 in the afternoon and avoid the queues. For around 1pm it really starts getting crowded. The staff try their best to put food on the table as fast as they can but sometimes they can also get overwhelmed. Our service was fast. Besides good food take time to prepare. The food in itself is out of this world. The best Tibetan cuisine anyone can offer. We tried steamed pork momos which had 10 pieces. The stuffing is simple yet damn tasty with nice soft juicy chunks of pork and minced onions. Best momos hands down Next we had hand made pork glass noodles and chicken glass noodles. Both dry. Soft slippery transparent noodles. A must try dish. Filled with ample chunks of chicken and pork. We also tried mixed thenthuk soup. It is a handmade flat noodles with button mushrooms and all types of meat. It is mild on the spices but tastes amazing. Finally we tried sweet and sour chicken. There were 8 pieces of boneless chicken. The taste was good as usual. Overall I can say the quantity and taste of every dish is above expectations. Our total bill was 1300 for 5 dishes for 4 people and we were really stuffed

As One of the most iconic fooding places in Darjeeling, Kunga bears the rich tradition of Tibetan & Nepalese food. From the start of the menu to the end, it's gobsmacking & mouthwatering to the best. However the place has a serious space crunch, so you should prepare yourself to stand for a long que. I would recommend everything from that age-old menu but pork & beef dishes are the best. Be aware, the red chilli sauce is super spicy🌶!

The momos were delicious! The best chicken momos I've ever had. The pork momos were also nice. They generally have a very long waiting queue. But at the time I visited, there was no queue and the service was also really prompt. A must visit if you're going to Darjeeling.

Ordered Cheese chicken momo, Chicken wanton soup and Lemon tea with honey. Costing 700-800 Rs for two Positives: -Great taste -Good service Negatives: -Small seating area -Some times there is a queue -Staff needs to be more soft in handling customers. A smile will go a long way

One of the busiest and best authentic to Tibetan and Chinese restaurant available in Darjeeling. Be prepared to wait in queue if you want to dine in. I opted for take out. We ordered 1 plate chicken momo (must try), 1 plate chicken fried rice and 1 plate chilli chicken. They took 30mins to handover the order. We had the food in our hotel. The momo is truly awesome. Other items were tasty too but nothing special about them, and their quantity is also good. If you are staying near Darjeeling Mall, then definitely you should try their momos. They close by 6:30PM , so better hurry.

The famous kunga restaurant of Darjeeling live upto its name. The food was amazing, absolutely delicious. Even though the have a little quaint set up, their customer management is superb. They keep their set up as authentic as possible. The food is superb. The authentic Tibetan cuisine is so very delicious.

This is an Overrated Dining place at Darjeeling. Staff is very unfriendly and rude. Probably their sudden popularity has doomed their basic ethics and courtesy. They serve Tibetan/Chinese crusine. Small place to sit with about 4 tables. There is a que most of the time, and the staff are least bothered to manage the que. After having wasted more than an hour , we realised that people can just barge in and the staff are like everyone is a customer. They close down by 06:30pm. So better not to plan for dinner. Only food that I would recommend from my previous visits is Shablay. Rest all the food are overrated. You will get better tasting food with better ambiance at many places in Darjeeling.

During our trip to Darjeeling, I asked our guide about a local eatery where we can have lunch & taste the popular local foods & got to know about this place. This tiny restaurant named Kunga is truly a hidden gem. If you are a fan of Tibetan flavours like me, it's a must visit place.. The location is very near to Ramada hotel at Mall Road.. We opted for: Chicken Phing ( glass noodles ) with lots of veggies like carrot, simrai ( local leafy vegetable ) Best to have with Sweet & Sour Chicken. Also, we had Chicken Cheese steamed momos without wich our trip wouldn't be completed. The portion amount is good enough for 2 people. Also, the staffs behaviour is very homely. A must visit place.

I found it overated, might be because of the food we ordered, but it was just my opinion. Ordered pork glass noodles and veg spring rolls. Both felt just average, might be it was their authentic taste. But for me it was just an average one. This is a tiny conjusted place. Also there will be waiting time of minimum 20 mins.

Kunga Restaurant in Darjeeling is truly a hidden gem, offering an authentic taste of Tibetan cuisine. The chicken cheese steamed momos are an absolute delight - heavenly goodness encapsulated in every bite. The flavors are beyond compare, making it difficult to remember any other momo experience after trying these. Beyond the momos, their noodles, thukpa, and pork items are equally impressive, boasting an awesome taste that lingers on the palate. The authenticity and quality of the Tibetan foods served here truly make it a must-visit spot.

The food quality is amazing, worth waiting in long queue for it, affordable price, quick service in spite of having full packed restaurant. One con is that they don't have enough dessert options and space is limited. Will surely visit second time.

Food paradise in Oligoli at the road intersection of Darjeeling, Half of the time is spent thinking which shop to leave and which one to go, Even then I have to decide where to eat. Finally reached kunga after getting tired of walking on the mountain, Time is 4pm but still no shortage of crowd, anyway after waiting for twenty minutes finally found the place and got amazing food. The food was - • Pork Momo - 250 •Mix Rice-260 Garlic Chicken-260 •Dry Pork Chili-260 If you go to Darjeeling, take some time to try this place, hope you won't be disappointed.

A small restaurant with cosy atmosphere, with limited seatings. Yummy, mouth watering food is served. There is que and menu card is passed on. They hand over a paper where we should write the dish we want to eat. Once seating is offered, in 30mts hot piping food is served. Quantity of food is heavy. We ordered veg thukpa and they provided 1/2 thukpa. Wai Wai is yummy while momos are lip smacking. To complete one glass of fresh lemon juice gives you the feeling you have eaten more than required. There is takeaway while for non vegetarians this place offers best food at a very nominal price.

It’s a small restaurant and congested and the seating arrangement is not appropriate for having good food and spending quality times as it is a tourist spot. About the food it’s average but the portion is large and can be shared among 3. I liked the beef chilli nothing else apart from that. Pocket pinch- 800 for 2

One of the famous tibetan restaurant in Darjeeling mall. If you want to taste some authentic tibetan food then just visit there once , you'll definitely love. Let's come to the food quality and quantity, both are so good. One portion can be shared by two people easily. Their service was also good. I would highly recommend cheese chicken momo, chicken wanton soup. I forgot to take photos of the momo coz it's taste heavenly. You can get takeaway from there also but I would recommend dine in option. Only one draw back is the place is very small. If you're think to having lunch there please go before 1.30pm.

Legendary! Authentic food and great service. Most of the time you'll be lucky to get a spot at this cosy little place. When you do - the wonton soup is to die for. Either the pork or the beef. The momos here are among the best I've ever had. Everything on the menu is prepared fresh with quality ingredients. Portions are large so come hungry !

The food is awesome but the wait time to get inside the restaurant is the real test of patience. Except a waiting time of around 1-1.30 hrs to get a table, mainly coz the restaurant is small..It would be better if they could start a small take away counter nearby.
