I called about getting a cut correction and spoke to the stylist I had, Sarah, who was very unkind and unprofessional over the phone. I did not realize I was 3 days past the deadline for corrections, but instead of Sarah simply telling me this, she questioned and criticized the reasons I had for wanting one. She said that if there was really something that I didn’t like about my hair, I should have called in before; that no one at their salon could make me happy; and when I expressed that the way she was speaking to me did not feel good, she said that she cannot help how I feel - this was all in a very aggressive tone. I was very calm and kind while speaking to her, so being on the receiving end of such defensiveness and reactivity was quite shocking. I was initially quite happy with my appointment, and just wanted a little more thinning out of the thickness of my hair. I certainly would have avoided the call if I knew I was going to be treated with such harshness.

After researching different hair salons in the area, I decided to pay Dime a visit based on the phenomenal reviews. I went to see Sarah and was impressed from the outset; she is personable and makes you feel comfortable right away. I knew I needed a change but didn't know exactly what I wanted. She collaborated with me and created a hairstyle that is so different from what I'm used to but so easy and chic! I have gotten so many compliments. Her haircutting skills are amazing!! Thank you Sarah!

Sarah O,Gray is a amazing and beautiful person and a very talented hairstylist, I don’t trust easy and I am not a person that makes conversation easy, and I very much appreciate someone who not only listen but will also suggest styles or colors or anything with my hair that they feel might suite me better, especially if I go a little crazy with ideas, and Sarah O’Grady was that person to give me ease to trust and appreciate her honesty, for 10 years we went from clients and stylists to friends and I have never had a bad hair day. She always goes 100 percent over and above what she needs to do, she cares and she truly buts all her love in to her work. I was and still am very sad to see her go, but very happy that she gets to have this new endeavor in her life with her precious family. So PLEASE take good care of Sarah, as we miss her very much and appreciate her they way we all did back home.

I got my hair cut today from veronica, I was afraid of getting my hairs short but she did an amazing job, she was so friendly and nice. Veronica suggested me some tips and ideas. It was a great experience with her. I will definitely love to go back there.

Been there a few times now and this place is amazing. I’ve had way too much trial and error in Halifax finding someone who can give a great and consistent haircut (and who actually listens), so couldn’t be happier to have come across Veronica at Dime. She also goes out of her way to explain exactly what she’s doing and why. Amazing skill, service, and conversation. Couldn’t be happier!

*edit. I gave my review more stars because the shop owners were so sweet and offered to have me back in to fix up my hair. My usual hair stylist wasn’t available so I last minute booked with Veronica as she had good reviews. She was fine and nice, but I had long hair and she took off 3” (way more than I was expecting) very quickly and cut it very bluntly (usually stylists will cut off slowly and check the length with you as they cut). Maybe she would be better if you had a very specific idea of what you want? It’s on me, as I should have been more clear about what I wanted, but I was just getting a refresh/trim! For $90 I probably won’t be back but I’ve heard great things about the other stylists :)

Her creativity, attention to detail, and the value she places on maintaining the integrity of her clients hair, have kept me a repeat customer since my first visit! Highly recommend!!

Sarah is by far, the best hairdresser I have ever had. I had 10 wonderful years with her in Alberta, and as much as I will miss her, I know she will do great things in Halifax at her new digs. Book with her and you will not be disappointed!! If I could give her 100 stars, it still wouldn’t be enough ❤️

Well I would rate a 4.5 . Location isn’t so great but they can’t help with it. Inside is clean and aesthetically pleasing. I went to Sarah seeing all the reviews, she is a very positive person and made me comfortable. Yet to see the results of treatment but hoping I get some improvements. Few feedbacks, there was no receptionist to coordinate , so each of them have to call back to clients in case of issues. For example, previous appointment was running late, so Sarah called me to inform it would take another 10 min; I had booked for 5 PM and we started at around 5.30 PM which isn’t too bad considering she informed me beforehand. I didn’t find a phone number to schedule or change appointment, everything has to be done through website,which may become difficult on the fly.

I had my hair cut by Orla and she was wonderful! I had a lot of anxiety about getting my hair cut and she put me at ease quickly. She did a beautiful haircut and I felt great! The salon is very comfortable and welcoming. I will be returning regularly! Thanks Orla!
