This is a wonderful place to stay and has the benefit of being close to Halifax and wine country. Good for children, adults and people with pets. The pool is well maintained and the facilities are clean. You can choose a site with a water view or nestle in the trees. At night

This was our 5th campground on our road trip to Newfoundland. This was by far the most fun and lively place we had stayed. They were able to accommodate our last minute reservation and we loved the site that we were parked at. The staff were very friendly and were able to help us with anything we asked. I would definitely recommend this campground to anyone looking to have a fun, exciting weekend!

What a dump. We camp at koa every year in many places….this place was run down, dirty and cramped. The bathrooms were filthy. The tent sites were tiny. Our water was brown, even after running it. We let the staff know but the response was that the water is fine , we test it every day. The brown particles in the water settled to the bottom of our basin and stained it….our big concern was that our children drank this water…step up your services before someone gets sick. Don’t stay here!

Beautiful campground with friendly, helpful staff. We booked for two nights then decided to book a third night because we loved it so much. The pancakes every morning were absolutely delicious and made to order. The pool was very clean and well maintained. The laundry facilities were reasonably priced and worked great. The on site store had absolutely everything you need and more. We were sad leaving and already planning our next visit. The only thing we have to change is to book a much longer stay.

This campground seems to be popular with young families. Not a problem except the playground amenities and pool are due for an upgrade. The pool is small and was always busy. Same for the jumping pad and playground - they are kind of shoved into a busy corner of the campground instead of on a large open field like we've seen at other parks. We liked the nightly ice cream station and the pancake station in the mornings. Friendly service, clean washrooms and showers. The kids liked riding the banana bikes. I would recommend this park as a journey stop for short stays where the kids amenities might not be so important, or if you will be out sightseeing for most of your trip. The campground is a relatively short drive to downtown Halifax & Dartmouth and also to Lower Sackville where you will find many restaurants and shopping.

We loved our visit to W Halifax KOA. The bathrooms were a little too buggy for us (they need doors that swing closed - they are always open at night with the lights left on) and we could never find the dog park, unless it was a tiny overgrown small rectangular dog run, but there were plenty of interesting places to walk the pup. There were some mosquitoes but not terrible. We were in THE best site C8. It had access from the back to fish with a great fire pit behind the RV in a woody spot. Very small pool, jump pillow and playground.

They took us in after midnight when we were evacuated because of the wildfires. We had no where to go and KOA Halifax answered the phone and told us to just come on down and they'll meet us out front and find us a spot. When we did, they told us to just settle in for the night and not to worry about checking in details until later. Extremely clean campground and they opened their doors for us in our time of need. Thank you so much from everyone in our family.

Non-typical KOA. It had amenities such as a pond for boating and fishing, a swimming pool, laundry and showers. Sites were located along a winding road in the trees. Good for families and for an overnight.

A good camp site as a whole, with easy access to Halifax. Our particular site, however, was entirely gravel, which made tenting a little tricky. I'm not sure if that's true for all electrical sites, but it's worth keeping in mind when you book!

The park is well located for travelling. Our personal experience was that “our site” and ones around us had a lot of standing water and mud. Overall the park didn’t feel very clean. The pool was overrun with kids and water was murky. Not a Fun or relaxing experience. The service was great as we came in wish out a booking and the made a 2 night stay work. We did have to move spots each night but that’s on us. Lots a kids. The price was a bit high for the quality.

This is the best campground that I have ever been to. The staff is so friendly and so very helpful, they even answered the phone late at night just to bring us some extra fire wood. Very appreciative of how they make sure you feel at home. Anyone looking for a beautiful campground with outstanding scenery, this is the absolute best place to go!

This was our first time at a campground with our 2 year old. On our first night (of 4) she had a horrible time sleeping so we ended up taking her home at 2 am. After realizing something was wrong, we came back the next day to pack up our site. When I notified the office that we’d be leaving 3 days early, they were quick to refund us for the remaining 3 nights. We will absolutely be going back and will recommend them to anyone who asks.

This camp ground is the best. The owner and his family and the staff are the best. We come here often and have no complaints. They are always accommodating and Edgar to help no matter the problem. Clean facilities and grounds. The children love it and all of the fun things they have for them. Ice cream hut, pancake house, pool, arcade, canoeing, bikes and for sure the humongous bouncy pillow. To name a few. Come visit I know you will be a return visitor.

Staff was friendly, however this was the loudest campground I have ever stayed in. Loud music from numerous sites after 11pm and highway noise all night long. One night a bunch of drunk teenagers almost fell into our tent! Campers were all friendly as well, far more than any other sites we've stayed at. We enjoyed the pancake house, ice cream shop, pool, bike rentals and kids activities of art and bingo. There is only one spot to wash dishes, not very convenient at all for tenters.

I've been staying here for a while now, and they have been fantastic, they have been very accommodating and have helped with and opportunities that may have arisen during the stay. Lots of activities and things to do around the camp, and generally a very friendly environment throughout the area. All amenities that are not provided on site are located within 15 mins, which is a huge bonus.

Visited campground on a summer weekend. It was full and busy. Sites vary quite a bit, ours was not very level or private. All the normal amenities - pool, playground, bounce pillow, playing courts, bike rentals, store. Some food available at store or pancake House, also Ice cream was available a few hours a day. Located on slow spot of the river that allows kayaking. If you are looking for family friendly, busy, traditional campground with lots to do this is for you. Cons were it was busy and noisy, and not close to the ocean if that is what you are looking for

This is one of the best experiences I have had in any campground I've stayed! My family and I have been camping here for the past 4 summers and not once have we had any issues and the service is always terrific. Joe; thank you very much, you and your staff are fantastic. You always go over and above to ensure everyone not only has a plesant stay but you definitely know how to make people smile. They are extremely friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend KOA Sackville to anyone looking to enjoy a wonderful camping experience. Thank you KOA. I look forward to seeing you again in a couple weeks. Angela Findley

Stayed here June 14-June 29th, 2022 in our Class A Motorhome towing (40ft rig with total 64ft length toad). Easy access off the highway and good roads within the park. Sites are very close together. We were right beside the Camp K9, although this was a very tiny, fenced off area not typical of Camp K9's we've experienced. There was a problem with a pump and an alarm continued to ring throughout the night however it was dealt with by management quickly the next day. Fairly quiet during the week however very busy and loud on the weekends. There were a lot of families with kids which is great, however drivers need to be VERY cautious. Pool and playground were ok but small so often too busy (early in season so pool very cold), garbage was often overflowing, and unfortunately some amentities were not open (pancakes, ice cream) due to time of year. Dock with easy access to river for kayaking/etc. We were able to launch our own kayaks and enjoy a very calm paddle. Used as base camp for touring Halifax and area. Would not stay again long term but is ok for a night or two. We did tent camp for two nights at a different location and felt safe leaving the Motorhome parked unattended.

This campground is okay but I would not stay here again. There seemed to be quite a bit of staff, however, the campground was full. We found that everything lacked in cleanliness but, to be fair to the staff, people didn’t seem to clean up much after themselves. We experienced dirty bathrooms, stinky shower drains, and dirty washing machines. There was only one dishwashing station toward the back of the campground and the drains and sinks were also always dirty. Again, not entirely the staff’s fault but somebody should be looking at those things more closely. Despite numerous children and vehicles, the campground was fairly quiet although not much room between camps. Our cabin was okay but dated, it smelled musty, and although we had a mini-fridge, the setting was too high on it and it froze our fruits and vegetables. The fridge was this way when we arrived and it was hard to adjust the setting because they were worn off. Our fire pit had a metal ring with rusted out holes in it so that also made it hard to use.

Me and my girlfriend went there for a night while up visiting the city, seems like a good campground they was friendly and let us pick where we wanted to stay and just went back and told them where we went. The only thing my girlfriend noticed alittle was the traffic at night if your staying in a tent like us you might hear it alittle but it’s nothing crazy you can tell it’s off in the distance. But the park itself looked very nice and there looked like there was a few things to do around there for activities.

Kid friendly++.Lots of events for Canada Day. Super fireworks display. The noise curfew not enforced-- basketball being played at 3 am. Rained ++ while we were there which resulted in a very wet site.Thank goodness we had rubber boots !!

We stayed here with our camper for the weekend. It was the perfect spot to stay while my daughter attended a dance competition at Halifax West High School. It was close enough that we could enjoy camping instead of staying at a hotel. There is an Irving very close by too that makes it easy to gas up when needed. The manager was very welcoming and accomodating. The people in the campground were all pleasant and we had a great night's sleep! Thank you KOA Halifax West!

Been here a few days, Joe who runs the place is a gem, very kind and welcomed us even though we were very late our first night here. Accommodations are exceptional for the price, restrooms clean, showers have decent water pressure and are always the perfect temperature. Dog friendly and super kid friendly too! Everyone here has been kind and neighborly, I would def recommend! Only 32 min or so from Downtown Halifax!!

Stayed at the Halifax KOA in mid Sept. and all went really well for family. Son enjoyed the heated pool. Our spot was backing onto the river and was a beautiful setting especially with the family of ducks who would. appear each morning for pieces of bread. We plan on returning again next year and extending our stay.

Great campground. We stayed a few nights. Loved our site. Close to amenities. Kids had a blast between the pool, playground, bike rentals and movie nights. Thanks for a great camping experience!!

This is our 5th time staying at KOA in lower Sackville. We’ve rented, stayed in the most basic camp, all the way up to the park model and everywhere in between. This time we stayed in a motor home. I can’t say enough about this camp ground. It has something for all ages. I love the long river, great for kayaking. Lots for kiddos to do and teens make their own fun. The campground is well kept, clean and no issues with traffic. The owners go above and beyond and even take the time to check in. I feel safe and stress free every time I come. Kids are older now so we usually get a basic camp for them and a nicer one for us. Always a good time. Thank you Joe, Christine and staff.

This was a nice campground but the campsites were very small with uneven gravel. The park was very clean, had a store at the front of park. They had a great play area for the kids that got used all day long as well as these scooters that kids & adults can rent. Also have a 50/50 money pot with purchase of tickets. And park was dog friendly 😊🐕

Conveniently located near a main highway, but of course there is a lot of noise from the highway. The campground was very clean, very well maintained, and service (when needed) was great. I'd give five stars but I found the trailer lots to be really narrow, more like parking spaces than a campsite. The smaller trailer/tent sites looked really nice though, with a decent amount of space and tree cover. I probably won't go again, but I'd recommend this place for it's convenient location, and all of the amenities for children.

Another great Labour Day weekend. Huge respect to the owner with the number of kids around and not many issues. However, he needs to have a chat with the evening “security” guy. Will be back next year

Great campground for families and kids! Lots for the kids to do, bike rentals, canoes, giant bounce pillow thing, ice cream shop and movie nights. NICE CLEAN POOL. Close to amenities. They will shut down noisey campers after a certain time & bathrooms are clean for the most part. Open and wooded sites available, although we found some RV sites were small, should be kept for tents only. But every one is different.

We spent a few nights there with our trailer visiting Halifax and surrounding. Unfortunate, we were assigned to a unleveled site with number of big and small holes. We managed to find a spot for our trailer, but it was 20+ feet away from our drain hole. Other than that the site was great with lot of privacy, good cell coverage and close to big shops.

Very unorganized trying to find a specific campsite due to lack of adequate and visual signage. No control of teenagers blocking traffic by walking in middle if road and not moving off to the side to let vechicles through. Should be better patrolled by Park staff to alleviate a potential accident from happening. Not very well lighted at night either.

This is such a beautiful campground; one of the nicest we’ve stayed at! We loved the natural landscape, with treed-in sites and cabins, nestled along serene wetlands, where you can rent canoes/kayaks. This was also a very quiet and respectful campground, with a playground, bouncy pillow and pool for the kids to enjoy. Great experience at KOA Halifax!
