In my top three metro parks for taking a long walk. Varied environments (wooded, prairie, along little fishing ponds). Scared up a deer, a hawk, saw a ton of butterflies and dragonflies. Very few other folks on the trails, despite going on a weather-perfect late summer weekend. Pretty wet in the spring, but peaceful. Update, still few fellow walkers an a beautiful spring day. The bathrooms are clean, as well. Great year round.

What a peaceful experience. We love the mindfulness trail signs. Bathrooms were still open and clean. There was even hand-sanitizer in the stalls! We are looking forward to applying for a permit to camp in the springtime. 💕

I hiked the orange and yellow trails here. It’s a good mix of prairie and woods. Definitely not a place to go for solitude. While I didn’t pass anyone on the trails there were many campers and fishers. There is also communication towers nearby, a constant reminder of man’s presence and an eyesore sculpture in one of the prairie areas. I even heard a marching band practicing for a while. I did find a lot of wildlife in the area which was nice though the mud in spring was pretty deep in places and I wished I had worn boots.

Their fly fishing classes are outstanding. The teacher is patient and willing to give 1 on 1 time while in a group setting. The teacher is thorough and very nice. The volunteers for the classes are knowledgeable and solid people. The park itself is well-maintained.

Always a nice place to visit for an enjoyable hike any time of the year. Beautiful butterflies, dragonflies, and other wildlife during summer.

I went to this place it was very cool I love the idea of being able to drive right up to the edge of the water unload your vehicle and then go and Park I did not see a playground but I'm sure there's probably one somewhere around there I was there the fish sorry I wasn't looking for a playground however the bathrooms were nice and clean and have plenty of toilet paper the picnic areas was really awesome they were right next to the lake where you could take the whole family and enjoyed the day and the smaller children to stay under the awning totally awesome

I love this park! Great for walking. The trails could use some work once the heavy rains stops. I would like to see them bring back the sunflower field. There is a small animal farm. There are multiple fishing lakes. Walking paths through wild flower feilds.

Ruining nature with stupid woke style wellness signs! Before anything else, please get rid of the stupid mindfulness posters that litter every trail in this park; all they do is ruin the beauty of nature. Aside from that, Possum Creek is one of Five River's better metroparks. There is something for hikers, horse riders, and those who want to see a working farm. Apparently, the area used to be an amusement center many, many years ago and there are treasures along the trails with hings of the past (in the Argonne Forrest area). There are five ponds where fishing is popular - no permit required. Some are catch and keep, some are catch and release. The trails have both wooded and open areas with beautiful fields. Bring bug spray - horseflies are everywhere. Bring dry shoes/socks as many of the trails seem to have wet spots past which they struggle to get the mowers.

This is a very underrated Metropark. It's one of the flatter ones in the area. The wooded trail is cool because you can see the old amusement park sites. The meadows are beautiful, but rough to walk on. There is also a fishing lake, but I have not been.

Great park with lots of trails and good views of nature. Campsites if you are into that there also.

This was my second time camping here and I was able to get the lakefront campsite which is amazing! You had your whole setup your picnic table your fire ring your wood for burning. And a perfect little area for pitching your tent! In the rates are more than reasonable! There were a lot of people there during the day fishing cooking out just having fun great group of people as well! The place is very clean and well-kept. That night we had the whole place to ourself it was heaven on Earth!

The weather was great this afternoon. I love walking through the prairies, the tall grass Prarie is especially beautiful closer to sunset.

A lot of the focus of this park seems to be on fishing, but as I don’t fish I’ll focus on what I do know. The trail I took seemed a bit less maintained compared to other places I’ve been, at least for the first bit away from the parking lot. It does get better as you go, though sometimes I wish the little side trips to see scenery or a historic site were better marked. It’s often hard to tell which is the main trail and which is a dead-end for a scene. To be fair, a hike, mostly in the woods and away from the highway is still fine, and maybe I’d have called it a 4 on a different day. I’d come here sometimes if I lived nearby, and I think it’s really like a 3.5 or just below that. I’m probably just spoiled by how good the other parks around Dayton are.

Needs some tender care, but seemed like a nice place

I walked only a short section of the mindfulness trail and did 3 exercises. I was surprised how much better I felt. The trails have been well taken care of each time I go.

Water is clear. Plenty of fish. The park was pretty clean. I caught 3 bass in 2 hrs.

Nice clean park. It has plenty of fishing holes, trails, and camping. The park is dog friendly has restrooms and Porta pots all over. There is also picnic shelters for use. The kids and I love this park.

Do not waste your time fishing here. Trash people from Dayton know the stocking schedule and they come in, ignore bag limits, and raid the whole park. I'm talking 12 or 15 bass, even the bluegill. If the biggest bluegill in the pond is 3 inches long, that means they even keep illegal panfish. Broke people chasing free food has ruined this place.

Most underrated park in the region. Has literally everything you could ask for: lake, ponds, creek, forest, prairie, learning farm, connection to the bike path and everything is very well kept. Trails are well maintained, wide, and abundant. Kid friendly, dog friendly and you can even camp here!

My family has been hosting our family reunion at Possum Creek for decades now. It's great because we have a very large family and need the space to accommodate us all. They have picnic tables and you can bring grills. Great place for the kids to run around and act a fool and the grown-ups can have their fun woth8any worries. Always love my family reunions at Possum Creek!!

My daughter rented Hickory shelter for my Birthday. It was a very enjoyable time. The weather was perfect and so was the company! As always the park was beautiful! My baby girl did a wonderful job with the decorations of roses. They look good on my dining table even though there is only half as many. Fun was had by all!

Kind of a hidden gem. Trail around the pond was pretty easy and in general in good shape. Some wet spots but it is middle of March. Would hope that some of the areas will have more real life exhibits to showcase this time in our history.

We camped over the weekend and had a great time fishing and hiking. The sites wasn't too far from the road. If you wanna wake up with a view, get the lake camp, but please note you don't get the privacy you do like the larger camps. One of the best things about camping with 5 rivers is the they provide 4 bundles included, $6 for additional bundles of wood. Compare that to say Walmarts $7.49 per bundle, it's a steal.
