😠 ROOM #601 AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Pool closed. Beach access closed. This was NOT noted on the website. No lights in the parking lot...very dark. Reaked of the smell of weed being smoked. Very inferior interior in the room. Not in good shape at all. Shower was awful, broken shelf in it so we had to set... People often mention beach, room, desk, front, stay, pool, good, clean, told,

Very inferior interior in the room. Not in good shape at all. Shower was awful, broken shelf in it so we had to set the bar of soap and our shampoo on the floor. No counter or sink. OLD futon for couch. No chairs to sit on. Looks like old garage sale furniture. Electrical 220V wires strung across our deck railing going into another room. Other rooms may be better. DO NOT RENT #601 $407 for 2 nights. Will NOT be back.

The pool was closed, the building was being renovated. The noise was unacceptable from the workers. All day the building vibrated. Louder than the TV. No front desk, no maid service, $.25 for ice at the 1 ice machine in the lobby.

Nice place to stay . The lady at the front desk was very welcoming when we arrived. We were supposed to stay somewhere else before and the host overbooked us. I was so upset and in tears . The wonderful woman who was on her 12 th day of work made my family feel at home. Yes there’s no pool that’s only because it’s being renovated due to the hurricane last year. It still has beach access very close by and lots to do in walking distance . It’s very safe as you have to have a key to get in and out or you won’t get back in. I recommend this place . Our room was clean and up to date and had a beautiful beach view . Again I recommend this place.

Rooms were super cute! Our Airbnb host, Jimmy, was fantastic and super helpful. All of our needs were met and he made the experience just that much better!

OMG. I want to live there forever! My wife loved it. She cried when we left, and I didn't want to leave either.

Yes it's on the beach. But as an old hotel turned into condo building, the noise is terrible from inside and out. Construction inside and out will be loud all day long. The smoking of various substances inside and on balconies makes the whole place smell bad. My Airbnb unit was cute inside , but privately rented and only worth it if you don't mind smoke and construction noise.

This is a nice place to stay. Especially if you plan on visiting the beach. Only problem this place really could fix is the horrible smell in the elevators and halls. It rinks of urine and dog. Maybe a few wall installed air fresheners would help subside the awful smell. Even a air freshener somewhere on the elevator would do the trick. It won’t cure it but it can mild it down a notch . The room was well maintained inside. Just can use a upgrade on the tub appliance.

Caleb and I spent a full week here. We had an amazing stay. Cindy and all of the other board members that were on location were wonderful people. We have already spoke to the owner of the condo we stayed in about booking again for next year. We are also exploring the idea of purchasing a condo in this building.

Glad they have alot of security cameras and locks on doors! They also have a cute restaurant down stairs with nice servers. I noticed was it smelled like cigarettes on some floors that seemed to be the only downfall.

Very nice accommodations just know that it is privately owned each individual condo has private owners and at the front desk all you do is get your parking pass so make sure you get the key code for the room from the owner and you're good to go.

Castaways was a really nice place to stay. The employees made sure our stay was enjoyable and that we had everything we needed. I couldn't recommend this resort enough. It was wonderful. The condo that we started in however was really lacking. We stayed in room 417 which is owned by a man who also owns 415 right next door. I absolutely do not recommend those condos which are rented on VRBO. We stayed from Saturday to Saturday. The 2nd night my sister was sitting on the edge of her bed getting ready to lay down around 10pm. She felt a bug crawling on her and thinking they were bedbugs jumped up, screamed and looked down to see tiny ants crawling all over the top of her bed near the pillows. She moved both beds to see if we could find where they were coming from and saw how filthy it was next to the wall. There was melted candy, partial condom wrappers, caked in dirt and dust balls all over. Of course she freaked out and messaged the owner. He only apologized. She asked at the very least if he would bring clean sheets and blankets so she didn't have to sleep on the ones the bugs had crawled on. His reply that there was a laundry facility downstairs and she could wash them there because he wasn't coming out at 10:30pm to give her new bedding. So she stripped the bed and thankfully brought her own blankets. The next morning the staff at Castaways literally stripped both beds and washed and sanitized all of the bedding. They had the room cleaned and the lady that cleaned went across the street and bought my sister a can of bug spray and a bag of kitkats because she felt so bad for my sister. They were fantastic and ultimately are the ones that made our stay so good.

The locations was great and front desk was wonderful. But the appearance and room was horrible they say there is quiet hour from 10:30 to 8 AM but that is a lie. Very ran down and also construction work is being done wasn’t told upon booking. The smell is horrible. Also my family and I felt very out of place.

The room we stayed in was absolutely beautiful. It had a definite beach vibe. The check in process was easy and the woman at the front desk that day was very accommodating. However, once we entered the room, put our belongings down and opened the back door, the handle fell immediately off. Which was no big deal. Later in the evening we decided to go check out the beach. We were given a key that gave us access to the building after hours and to the gates accessing the property and the beach. When we went to go out the gate to the beach, the key worked but it took a few times to get it unlocked. When we were coming back in, the key would not work. We figured it had to do with the salt and sand from the beach. We weren’t familiar with this particular area and didn’t have a clue how to get back in, so we had to jump over the gate, which included my almost 60 year old mother having do this. We ran into a couple who was about to go out on the beach and told them what had just happened. The woman said they had the same issue earlier and had to get a new key. The next morning when the front desk opened, we went and told the lady there what happened. She didn’t know what to do, but the maintenance man was there that morning, so she went to tell him. I don’t how the truth got messed up, but she told him and I assume others that we broke the gate by I guess jumping it. He came up to us after it was fixed, and said that there was another entrance with stairs down the beach we could’ve used (which was quite a distance, and we didn’t see originally). The front desk lady came to the pool where we were at and told us that it was fixed, but then made a comment about us having to possibly pay for the broken lock. We thought she was joking, but later when I talked to her again, she said it once more. I was extremely upset that, because she said if I didn’t know who broke it, then it would automatically be our fault because we reported it! I was baffled and so frustrated. At this point, I’m waiting to see if I have to pay (I told them to review the cameras). I couldn’t believe it! On top of that, it was the weekend and the pool was under maintenance (which it had just opened that morning and the residents there treated you as if you were some sort of criminal; constantly watching you)! I felt extremely uncomfortable on what was supposed to be a “family getaway” weekend! Not to mention insulted by the accusations made. I would strongly advise staying at an actual hotel and not places rented by owners themselves. At least there you would be treated as a guest. I was going to rent there again coming up soon, but the experience changed my mind.

Old but clean. The unit I stayed at was fine but I can’t speak for other units as the hallway smells like old smoke at bingo but again the unit I rented last minute was good. I’m low key most days and this worked for 12hrs til my daughters’ graduation.
