Love this place. Miles of well signposted walking tracks that take you through beautiful woodlands and wide open spaces with views to the sea. Well maintained and challenging road and Mountain Biking tracks, a great play area for all ages and a Mining Museum to browse around. Entry to the park is free on foot or by bike or it's £3.50 to park for the day. Bring your own bike or you can hire them there. Well worth a visit. 10/10

Fantastic place! Loads to do! We arrived late and wanted a play park for the kids after a long drive. We were amazed by the park and all of its facilities that we came back again the following day. The car park is cheap, or free after 4.30pm. The kids play park is huge with loads to play on. The cafe / bar overlooks the park great for a bite to eat, a brew or a pint. The additional activities available are vast and seemed very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked the Dinosaur fossil hunt. Only £10 per child, adults were free. The small group of children were shown how to hammer rocks open to find fossil, the guide was very informative and patient with all the random questions from the children. Highly recommend a day out or two here !

The park itself is lovely, lots of trails to follow and sights to see, there is a great set of mountain bike tracks and an awesome paved road for bikes to circuit around. The reason I can’t give this review 5 stars at this time is because the park lacks proper runnings, in order to rent a bike you first have to call staff to attend the bike renting shack, I was also not assisted in anyway when it came to setting up my bike either and due to wear my bike seat would not stay in one place. The rented bikes were clearly poorly maintained as well and the chains kept slipping off and the seats were extremely uncomfortable. I would like to add that in support of the park it is currently having new facilities built which I can imagine will alleviate all of these issues and make the experience a lot smoother and pleasant overall. One final issue is parking is fixed at £3.50 a day which seems a bit excessive if you are only renting bikes for 1 hour. Despite all this I would still highly recommend the park for anyone who has their own bikes and wants to have a great afternoon of cycling both on and off the tarmac, the views are stunning and the environment is clean and exciting.

First visit. Easy to find on Google maps. Bucket loads of parking (£3.50/day). 3 cycling routes. 1 tarmac route (very easy). 1 blue route (easy for a mountain bike). 1 red 'advanced' route for mountain bikes. Cycle hire on site. Bikes aren't the best tbh but the staff are friendly. My hire bike the seat kept sinking down despite being firmly clamped. So I was constantly stopping to re-set the height of my bike seat. Which isn't ideal. I mentioned this to the staff on returning the bike and they were already aware of the problem so not sure why nothing's done about it...🙃. Take your own bikes if you can. Large play zone for kids. Large restaurant with inside & outside seating. Great tea btw (Tea Pigs tea bags). Small mining museum I found very interesting. Toilets were OK-ish. Everything worked but no soap in the dispensers and the facilities were left in a mess after the colour run. Check website for events as they may close sections of the tarmacked track as they did yesterday for the colour run. So yeah, I'd definitely go again. A few no cost/low cost tweaks and they'd get 5 stars from me.

This was a lovely couple of hours out! We rented out bikes for two hours and cycled round. The area is beautiful. Took us a while to understand the maps there, some are confusing, but in the end it was a nice experience. Two things they could improve on is the maintenance on the bikes! They need a good clean, caked in mud. Also the ice cream I had there was not very nice. Consistency was really strange. Still a good experience overall though.

Went there whilst they had their military weekend and it was great. They have a mining museum that is free so we'll worth a look. They have bikes and tricycles and other vehicles to hire at various prices plus you can take your own bike.also have a play park. Only downfall is you have to pay £5 pound parking if you stay for more than 20 minutes and it doesn't do contactless

Great place for all the family. Beautiful views, fab park for the kids, loads to do and see with great facilities. £3.20 for parking and that’s all you have to pay unless you want to hire bikes. Spider bikes will amazing when they are up and running! 😃👍

Amazing place to go cycling, they also have a fast lane for the energetic ones. There are different levels in off road for the adventurous riders. They also have a cafe to eat or just have tea and coffee. You can also rent a bike or even a trike or bike with a kid seat from them at a really good price.

At first glance, this playground is reminiscent of a training ground for desert vehicles on a desert planet. However, if you take a closer look, you will see a lovingly designed playground with interesting play opportunities for children. a cable car, a ship, an excavator, all very modern and the little one had a lot of fun.

Great day at the heritage sprint, 2nd year going to the event and can't wait to go again next year. Very well planned and lots to see and do.

£5 parking fee that was practically impossible to pay, only one machine partially working, not accepting credit cards. Very expensive cafe £5 for two teas and very unappealing cakes. Nothing to see from the old coal mining site apart from the Kent Mining Museum which was ok but that was it ok

Betteshanger park was a good place to do a bit of mountain biking for 12+ years I’ve been going but I’m finding the trails are getting neglected little to no maintenance in the last year especially the red trails seem to be all overgrown What happened to the no pedestrians on tarmac track? I’m guessing BP are concentrating on activities that make money Lastly why does redrow homes have a showroom on the car park taking up valuable spaces no good in peak times Money making again maybe However after my rant it is still a good place for family day out

Lovely family day out/visit. Great playground with lots of equipment to play on. There is plenty of seating . Although they could do with some shade to sit under. They have a lovely restaurant. I would recommend booking in advance and make sure to let them know of any dietary requirements when making the booking.

A great place to bring family and friends! I recommend bringing your own mountain bike for the trails as there are many twists and turns which are best done on a familiar bike! Blue trail is the easiest off road trail, however I would not recommend to under 10s due to muddy conditions and abrupt turns

£3.50 to park well worth it, there is a little mining museum free to enter a great play park few options for refreshments and a nice nature trail.

Brilliant facility. The park has gone through huge refurbishment over the past few years. There is now a great cafe, bike hire, road and MTB bike routes, large playpark and a lot of activities for the family. I go for the road bike track. 3.4km of smooth tarmac, one way traffic, brilliant for triathlon training sessions. We got there at gates opening and had the place to ourselves. Get a few more leisurely riders and families through the day. Something for everyone there!

Lovely big area for bike riding, roller skating, scooters or even a nice walk. Lovely play area for children. Beautiful blue lake. Bike hire available

Good facilities and plenty of trails for walking and cycling. The blue/red arrows for the cycle trails could do with sorting out as they disappeared in some places leaving it up to ones Navajo tracking skills to work it out.

A great place for a wonderful walk. We have been to lots events here and always come away happy. Today we did the Halloween trail, well organised and makes a nice walk even more fun for the kiddies. Staff are always helpful and friendly.

This is a great place for adults and children. Bring your own bike or hire one here. There's a dedicated cycle track. There's a play area for children. The coal mine museum is open and worth a look but still to be finished. There's a cafe and the menu should have something for everyone, and it has a bar. Definitely worth a trip.

We love betteshanger for bike riding and Easter/Christmas trails with our 6yo daughter. There's a wide paved bike track with a shorter loop and a longer loop. The short loop is perfect for children learning to ride without stabilisers as there is lots of space and no cars. A few very gentle up and downs but mostly pretty flat. There are also mountain bikr trails and walking routes across the park through open spaces and wooded areas. Bike hire prices are very reasonable at about £7 an hour including helmet hire at time of writing. However, I went recently and the bike hire was closed but there was no mention of this on the website - I expect it was closed because the Christmas trail/market/fair were all on, but that was annoying so might be best to phone ahead to check if there are other events on when you want to cycle. Decent play park for the kids to play in while parents have a coffee from the well appointed coffee van (they do a good hot chocolate too). Toilets at the car park. Plenty of parking, but don't forget to pay (currently £3.50 for the day) or you'll have a very unyeilding and rude parking company (not operated by betteshanger park) demanding fines from you. Luckily staff at the park are lovely though and very helpful. The new visitor centre has just opened so I'm sure more will be happening at the park in the future and facilities may improve, but for us, it's the safe cycling space that wins our hearts.

So improved. Fascinating, informative Kent Mining Museum. Safe, fun play park. Friendly cafe with a great menu. Recomend the eggs benedict. Spotless ladies restroom. A great local asset.

we went for the Easter trail there and actually there is much to do. The playground is fully equipped and we walked to the blue lake which is quite nice as well. There has a free workshop for bunting making and all of us enjoyed it very much.
