A very important piece of history to the Dearborn Detroit area. The grounds are very well maintained and are beautiful. They truly transport you back to Henry and Clara Ford’s time. The architecture of the home is modeled Scottish baronial style and is very unique. It would be great to see the inside of the home, but it is not possible as they have been doing renovations/restorations for a while now. It is 350 acres, and you have the most magnificent view of the River Rouge. Also, if you look around, you will see Mrs. Ford’s rock garden; the new garage being built; and the rose garden!

The estate was amazing! Beautiful gardens to walk through. Rouge river running through the back. Couple of ponds. Some areas were in need of restoration but the property and house were beautiful! Highly recommend checking it out! Great for families or as a romantic walk for a couple 💚💚💯💯💯

This is an amazing place to go for a stroll or have a picnic. There are ample walking paths with tons of wildlife like deer 🦌, turtles 🐢, herons, frogs 🐸, snapping turtles 🐢, and many bird 🦅 species. The house is cool too and the rouge river and rapids area are great to sit by and watch the ducks 🦆 and geese. They’re open daily until 6 pm and they have free parking across from the house.

Where to start? The place is simple gorgeous. Lovely gardens. Lovely view to the Rouge River. Amazing architecture of the house. I loved it. I spent almost two hours just walking around. I could not get inside... I wanted to see the interior. I wonder if there are some guided tours.... However, I give this place 5 stars. Specially during Spring/Summer. Absolutely gorgeous.

Review is only for the grounds as the house was closed for renovations. Parking is free and no charge to walk the grounds. No pets allowed (pets are allowed at son’s estate grounds, FYI). Quiet and peaceful, nice for walk along river and grounds. Just have to compete for weddings and other photography sessions. Check website prior to going as they do close the grounds as well for events sometimes.

This place is huge, love bringing the kids to see all the flowers, wildlife, and ponds. The trails run great distances. I don't know if they closed this part of the path but when we were kids we could walk the back paths all the way to henry ford college. I let the kids run around smelling all the flowers. Good way to burn some time, usually stay for about an hour or two.

Great place to walk the trails and enjoy the fall foliage. Mid October is the best time to go. Follow the meadow to Lakeside Trail and circle around the lake to Sugar Maple Trail

Beautiful piece of historical property. My husband called ahead and we knew the buildings are under renovation and therefore not accessible. Another couple pointed out it would be nicer if the information about not being able to access the buildings was posted at the beginning of the drive instead so they knew ahead of time about the closure.

This is a hidden gem in Dearborn. Amazing during lilac season , the whole place smells heavenly. The flip side is that they close at 6pm and by 5.50pm, they start going around telling people to wrap up. Early June, the rose garden comes in full bloom. The roses have different kinds of fragrances, this is the first I've noticed so far. There are a variety of summer blooms planted. They have a fern garden too. Very tranquil place to stroll and have a picnic. Tables are provided.

What a beautiful American castle. Henry and Clara Ford lived in luxury, and it was a treat to tour.

This has been a FAVORITE place of mine for decades. Quite telling of our times to have so much of the property closed due to renovation. Cést la vie. Still had a GREAT time with my Friend who moved out West years ago. Sarge certainly LOVES his freedom as a Service Dog In Training (SDIT)... Security Patrol tried hating on us and told us "Folks aren't allowed to take dogs into that area..." but we were leaving so I didn't bother to explain... You know what I have to say: "Just smile and wave, Boys! Just smile and wave!" (ADA has got OUR backs!)

This is a great place to see where Henry Ford lived and made his mark on the city of Dearborn. The architecture is absolutely stunning and so are the grounds as you would think of a man of his stature at the time.

The flower gardens are looking incredibly beautiful. The rose garden is in full late summer bloom. The meadows are in great shape, hopefully the house and garage will be open soon.

Fair Lane is a peek behind one of the 20th Century’s industrial giants home life. This sprawling estate was his home for decades. His inventions born at this site, family life and you gather he had an appreciation for innovative architecture. This access was limited as there were renovations ongoing as of February 2023. Also, bicycles and dogs are not permitted.

The only reason I don't give this five stars is because the interior wasn't finished when we visited the splendid grounds. It's unbelievable how many amenities are on the property; too many to list. The landscaping, both man-made and courtesy of Mother Nature was so blissful and we visited in the early, early spring when the ground was covered with wild violets and other flowers. Being that time of year, we left a bit earlier than we might have because I was cold, but there is so much to explore on this lovely old estate...and it's all FREE!

My fav place to just walk around and enjoy nature, if you're quiet and lucky you'll see some cute little critters walking around.

This is my favorite place in Dearborn. Although the home itself is closed due to restoration, the grounds are open to the public. When will restoration be complete? No one knows. It's a secret 🤫

This amazing home is undergoing restoration so you take a self-guided tour of the outside and the surrounding buildings and grounds. I can see why this was a sanctuary for the Fords.

I went to visit the House again, my last experience was great, the staff were super friendly and nice, and the place is beautiful and clean. I went again to visit and was “immediately stopped” from going in by a woman at the front wearing a white shirt saying “NO PROM PICTURES WITHOUT A PERMIT” we explained that we aren’t going to prom nor are we linked to any photography company or group. We just wanted to walk around and take quick photos of the atmosphere, which as stated on the website is allowed. It would be nice for the employees to know their own rules before ruining someone else’s day.

Beautiful Estate and I can't wait until renovations are done and the inside opens up for tours again.

What a wonderful place to pass the time! The grounds are absolutely beautiful. I could spend all day here; bring a book, bring a friend, bring some food and drink, or bring nothing but yourself. It's truly remarkable. So refreshing. Nothing but praise...
