This was my trip to Java Monkey here in downtown Decatur Square. Today was a "girls day out" with my sister and 2 nieces ages 9 and 4. They are lovers of coffee if you can believe that. The youngest was in a bad mood and feeling blue. Graham, our charming and perceptive barista have Kennedy a small cup of whipped cream to eat. Instantly she was happy and cheerful and said to my sister that videos and whipped cream make everything better! We all laughed but we were so grateful to Graham for being so nice. Catherine was our other barista and she was so nice and welcoming. They had the idea to make the girls Cappuccinos decaf and gave the little one a mini Cap. How cute! Such a lovely and quaint little cafe with plenty of places to sit. There is wine and outdoor seating as well as free wifi. If you don't care for coffee they also offer a nice selection of Arden's Garden juice as well as pastries and cakes. This is a nice place to unwind or catch up with friends. This place is just so cool and eclectic. It feels like home. They just have a great option of drinks to choose from from alcohol, to teas, to coffee. Haven't had a bad coffee here, and the wine was good. I love that they have vegan and gluten free dessert options. I wish I lived close enough to go here every day.
