Worst day of golf I’ve ever had ..I waited 5 minutes on the first tee box for the group ahead of me then was harassed the rest of the day claiming my play was too slow . We were harassed the whole day for a 4 hour and 5 min round of golf, continuously being told we were too slow. When confronted by the head pro pro after our round and the and explaining our situation he sat there and defended his untenable situation…The course is in good shape the people that run it are total dbags skip this course save yourself from the young punk that runs course..pick yourself a copy of how to win friends and influence people and learn how to admit when your wrong

One of the prettiest country clubs in Broward County. Golf Course is a great track and provides lots of birdie opportunities without too much trouble for the average golfer. The clubhouse and grounds are always immaculate and offer great accommodations for any type of event. I shot my second hole in one at Deer Creek and we'll never forget it.

Overall it's probably the best public course in Broward county. The course is in very good condition from tee to greens. The greens run smooth, true and relatively fast with undulations. It's one of the rare find course in S. Florida that offers plenty of hilly and elevation changes. Almost every hole offers a pleasant driver experience for those who like to bomb the ball at tee shot. Imagine the feeling of driving the ball from an elevated tee box to a straight wide-open fairway in S. FL. The course looks easy without intimidating hazards yet it's not easy to get good scores.

This was a beautiful course, although I only got to see the front 9. Apparently from the recent rains, the back nine had flooded. It was in great shape and I found the greens to be easy to read and rolling true. The staff was very pleasant, except for one of the Marshalls. At 8:02 he came to get us saying “can’t you guys read? We’ve been sending you messages for a while to come back. We are closed”. And they close at 8. Anyway, despite his attitude, he didn’t ruin the round for us.

Enjoyed a wonderful day of golf with my husband. The fairways are long and the course is quite pretty. There were some dry patches - but it is summer in florida :) afterwards, treated ourselves to a late lunch.

Way too pricey for Florida golf. Pro shop guys weren’t friendly. The starter dude was cool but the rest of the riff raff outside were a-holes. If you left your cart outside for a minute they’d pull everything out and send it back to get washed. Seems the Yankee transplants brought their attitudes. Better off not spending so much and getting attitudes like this. Course was nice but not jaw dropping for what I paid.

I love this course! Definitely one of the best public courses within Broward County. The course is always in great shape. The greens run fast and true (which is tough to find at public courses), and the layout of the holes can really give amateur golfers quite a challenge. Some may say it is too expensive, but in my mind, you get what you pay for. You want cheap, then go to Oriole...but don't expect the same conditions! (That's not a knock on Oriole, just stating the facts).

Unless you want to be rushed through your golf game by the people running the course.. don’t come here. People in the pro shop were very nice. The course is nice, well kept, beautiful. Too bad the people whom work out there are so rude. We finished the 9th whole and had a gentleman whom works there come up to us and asked “are you finished now? Oh Good!”.. sorry I’m not a pro golfer. Sorry I hit above par. Sorry I’m a learner. Was the worst experience EVER at a golf course. Will never be back. I paid the same premium on a Sunday morning that everyone else does, I should be allowed to play and finish a hole. I was asked on 3 DIFFERENT HOLES to pick up and move on.

Super pretty golf course. But do not play if your a beginner golfer or hitting shots above par. The golf rangers were constantly hounding us to move faster. Seems like they were overbooking - We paid premium prices on a Sunday morning and almost every other hole were being asked to move along. It made our golf game not relaxing and unejoyable. Will not return.

We are still on a high from our wedding in September at Deer Creek. When I say everything was perfect- I honestly mean it. Everyone was astonished with how beautiful Deer Creek is, how nicely the grounds were kept, the amazing food, the beyond exceptional staff. What an INCREDIBLE team. Sarah & Giselle are true rockstars at their professions. Any question I had, or anything, they did what they could do to make whatever happen. The service was also just simply fantastic. You will not regret booking Deer Creek for your upcoming wedding!

Great course, everything else is terrible. 4.5+ hour rounds every time without fail, starter always running behind, you never tee off on time. Staff are all rude, argumentative, and not helpful. Terribly managed and price is not right. Again, golf course is usually in good shape, but its not fun when you have to wait every shot, and get rushed around the course by staff with no where to go.

Just had my friend's 50th birthday celebration at Deer Creek. Everything went as planned. Beautiful ballroom!! Special thanks to Sarah. She's a true gem. Wonderful asset to the organization. She made it such a great experience. Also, many thanks to Luc(he made it stress free), our lovely bartender, and the nice Portuguese lady who helped us. Nice team. Overall, a great experience and would definitely recommend Deer Creek Club for special events.

I have played here countless times since moving to the area of few years ago and I have yet to be disappointed. The staff is always friendly and pleasant, the range and facilities are excellent, and most importantly, the course is always well maintained and a pleasure to play. It's a little pricey, like any other good golf course, but at least here you get everything you expect at that price point.

I feel in love with Deer Creek. I was so happy we could have our wedding here!! We were able to get married in front of the waterfall and had our beautiful reception in their renovated gorgeous ballroom! We had SO many people compliment on the venue we chose!! Our day of coordinators were AMAZING. Giselle and Polly never left our side and were there if we needed anything. Our wedding was beyond perfect and I would highly recommend Deer Creek as a venue.

Went to the Grill for lobster night. $42.95 for poor quality lobster and small soft shelled. The sides were mashed potatoes and the chefs vegetable which was frozen mushy corn on the cob. Wasn't allowed to get French fries instead of mashed potatoes. Every answer was met with a no. The waitress was not good either. Never came back to refill water or even wipe the table down. Well why should she since the 18% was automatic. I tried to explain this bad experience to the manager but he seemed indifferent. Horrible experience and felt extremely ripped off. In my opinion it's nothing more than a diner. Bad service , bad food and a manager who didn't seem to care NEVER AGAIN!

We went for lobster night. Every single person on staff was friendly and smiling. I had the best time for my birthday. The food was excellent, the drinks were strong, I highly highly recommend. Taylor is outstanding and the best server I've ever had anywhere and the host, edna (right name?), was exceptional

Golf enthusiasts will be happy to know that the Greater Fort Lauderdale area is also packed with a plethora of golf courses that are accessible to the public. Deer Creek Golf Club in Deerfield Beach is one such course. Deer Creek is an upscale public golf facility with an 18-hole championship course designed by Arthur Hills. Deer Creek is known for its undulation and rolling landscape and the consistently fast and smooth TifEagle putting surfaces. The course opened in 1971 and has hosted many prestigious professional and amateur golf tournaments including the 2003 USGA Senior Open Championship, 2002 USGA Amateur Championship, and the LPGA Tour’s Mazda Classic from 1979-1984. Other accolades include “Best Golf Course in Broward” (South Florida Sun Sentinel), “Four Stars” (Golf Digest Magazine), “Top Two Golf Courses in South Florida” (Golf Magazine), and “Top 100 Courses for Women” by Golf for Women Magazine. In addition to a challenging golf course, Deer Creek has one of the best practice facilities in the area with a full-length driving range, putting green, sand traps, and chipping areas. Deer Creek offers several challenging holes, but nothing can make or break a round quicker than the last two. Number 17 is a short par 4 that plays 335 yards from the White tees and features a large pot bunker in the middle of the landing area off the tee. If you can fly it, by all means do so but don’t push your tee shot right, or you’ll be faced with a small cluster of palm trees about 120 yards out. Your approach shot is to a small angled and elevated green guarded in front by a bunker. A back-left pin position can be tricky because the green is tough to hold and slopes to the back left. Anything long will be a tough up and down. Oceanic at Pompano Beach Pier is dedicated to capturing the energy of the Pompano Beach revitalization. Oceanic is owned by LM Restaurants who also own the Beach House next door. Oceanic offers indoor and outdoor seating and the ocean liner-inspired design provides an open interior with expansive and uninterrupted ocean views. Oceanic offers superior steak and seafood dishes. Their Brussels Sprouts appetizer with a horseradish and maple sauce is a must-try. After your main course, be sure to try one of Oceanic’s fabulous desserts including Key Lime Crème Brulee or Fat Elvis Pie, an interesting selection that combines all of the King’s favorites: peanut butter (ganache), banana (cream filling), and chocolate, all on a graham cracker crust. Celebrity Chef Fabio Viviani now has his own restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. Riviera by Fabio Viviani is located in Hotel Maren on A1A and is part of Hilton’s Curio Hotel Collection. The food is considered coastal Italian cuisine; to me, it was simply delicious, probably the best meal I have ever had in almost 20 years of writing about golf travel. The signature meatball appetizer (Polpetti Di Fabio) was incredible, the Salt Spring Mussels were plump and delectable and my wife’s Mishima Reserve Wagyu Steak was the best I’ve ever tasted. I’m surprised she let me have a bite! If you’re there for Sunday brunch be sure to try their new Tootsie Roll drink. It’s the perfect breakfast drink. While in the area, you’ll need a place to lay your head at night. I strongly suggest Cottages By The Ocean on SE 3rd St. in Pompano Beach. Not only are they centrally located to several public-accessible golf courses, but they’re also a block and a half from the beach and all kinds of restaurants and nightlife. These 1940s-era cottages and one-bedroom bungalows offer full kitchens with range, refrigerator, and microwave, a complete living room, and a king-size bed. They’ve also got you covered if you're headed to the beach with beach chairs, wakeboards, and beach toys. Owner Elaine Fitzgerald likes to greet each guest personally and when you see her ask her for some restaurant recommendations. She’s been in the area a long time and is well-connected. She has several similar properties in the area so if the Cottages By The Ocean are booked, check out her other locations.
