I was there in 2018, this place plenty of things and animals to see, you need minimum 4 to 5 hours to see all the areas inside, the management has maintained this place well, if you don't want to walk, you can use the Electric vehicle to visit all areas. There are all different kind of animals like, Lion, Tiger, Siberian Tiger, Hippopotamus, Ziraff, different species of birds and African Buffaloes. There are many more, I cannot name all of them. Over all it is fantastic place to go with family and also away from the Delhi crowd. Highly recommended.👌

Inaugurated in 1959, National Zoological Park also known as Chidiya Ghar is situated near The Old Fort in Delhi and is a favourite weekend spot among adults and children alike. National Zoological Park is well maintained and is largely visited by tourists. It has canteens inside for the visitors and battery-operated vehicles at very reasonable prices which you could use if exhausted. But the real fun is in exploring the place on your feet. Visit this destination to reignite your curiosity in our furry friends! From biggest cats to the tiniest birds, the zoo has all kinds of animals and birds. Initially, it was known as Delhi Zoo when in 1982 it was renamed The National Zoological Park with the idea of making it the model zoo of the country. At the Zoological Park, birds and animals live in an environment that in many ways resemble their natural habitat. The zoo not only provides a home for endangered species but also helps them to breed in captivity. It also holds Conservation Breeding Programmes for Asiatic Lion, Royal Bengal Tiger, Brow Antlered Deer, Swamp Deer, Indian rhinoceros and red jungle fowl. Eventually, they may once again thrive in the wild.

The ticket window at Delhi Zoo was not operational and visitors were advised to purchase tickets online. Delhi Zoo is a popular destination for children and animal enthusiasts alike, spanning a large area that features battery-operated vehicles for the convenience of visitors. The zoo boasts a diverse array of wildlife, including various species of birds, African and Asian elephants, White Bengal tigers, Tiger jaguars, lions, Hippopotamuses, rhinoceroses, and numerous other animals. The zoo's facilities are clean and well-maintained, with ample parking available for visitors. Additionally, restroom facilities are conveniently located throughout the zoo. Visitors can also enjoy the beauty of the zoo's scenic lake. To fully experience all that the zoo has to offer, it is recommended that visitors plan to spend at least 3-4 hours exploring the various exhibits, and an entire day if they wish to thoroughly observe each animal and its details.

Best Zoo in India, better than Ranichi Baugh and far above Borivali National Park in Mumbai. Ensure you book online, reach early and also get battery operated car ride inside zoo to save time and energy. Minimum 2.5 hrs to say hello to all animals :)

Don't carry any food. If you are taking children, full their tummy before leaving home. Else you will have to throw your food.

A zoo (short for zoological garden; also called an animal park or menagerie) is a facility in which animals are kept within enclosures for public exhibition and often bred for conservation purposes.[1]

    The National Zoological Park is a 176-acre zoo in New Delhi, India. A 16th-century citadel, a sprawling green island and a motley collection of animals and birds, all in the middle of a burgeoning urban Delhi. The zoo can be seen on foot or using a battery-operated vehicle which can be rented at the zoo. Source @wikipedia
