If you want to buy gold, this the PLACE TO BUY GOLD!! A fairy tale market!! Worthy of an Arabian Night story. I never thought a city of gold existed until I visited this place. All the gold is legit and certified by the state. So there is no risk of getting scammed. You will find the largest gold ring in the world, gold dresses, gold crowns, gold jewellery of all shapes sizes, and for any body part. All the gold comes in 18, 21, and 24 karat. Get ready to haggle and bargain aggressively. If they ask for a price, ask for half of it then slowly up from there. Truth is, whatever price you pay, it's way cheaper than anything equivalent in London, Paris, or New York. If you are a tourist, make sure to fill in the paperwork as you get a nice refund at the airport.

I don't like gold, I prefer silver or white gold, but all the things there were just wow. The designs of some of those jewelry pieces were amazing, although probably they aren't so comfortable to wear. Who can resist glitter though, right? It's my favorite joke now, to point to those pictures, if someone ever needs an idea on what to buy me for my birthday.

What a sight. What amazing pieces. My wife who does not like gold even a bit was stunned to her core seeing the gold suits. We could not imagine who wore those and when. Not normal any way. Not casual any way. Super amazing and super heavy. Detailed work done on rings even. They have amazing collection. If you want variety and styles that are new and different, you ought to contact someone who can get you those from here.

One of good place to buy gold in Dubai, you will get latest design and model. But remember they are charging lots of Making Charge. But as a tourist you can roaming around the place and can enjoy the multicultural beauty.

Old Dubai really need an upgrade bad! The people there needs better professionalism like how the rest of Dubai does. The sellers in gold souk are very pushy and don’t know how to take no for an answer! It’s very obnoxious. As for the big stores that sell gold, being from America, the gold felt so light and fake. It was hard to even decide weather or not I wanted to buy something because how light it felt, then coming to ask for solid gold it was the same price I could get at a family friend jewelry store. So ended up leaving not buying nothing, it was just to say that I went and experienced it, but you can definitely tell the difference between the rest of Dubai and old Dubai. It’s sad, but hopefully they get a remodel or something. As for the seller hopefully they have security coming in to make sure the sellers don’t over for it because they really scare the tourist off. As for the big gold stores, definitely just stick to the one in Dubai mall. Gold souk can really be much better because the gold everywhere makes it so “wow” and nice but everything else around it make it seem like I’m in a poor low class neighborhood.

The best place to shop for Gold. It is a different experience altogether. Make sure you visit the place at least once to experience the market vibe. You get everything there and it is also a good place to get souvenirs and spices.

Gold gold and more gold!!! From what we have been told this is a pretty legit area to go get good prices for gold items. All the shops are regulated by the government so you won’t see much price difference. Any price difference you see is due to shop quality in gold processing (I mean the crafters). Lots of options to choose from but do look to negotiate a bit if you can…might not be much as prices are set but you can try. Great thing is that everyone is very helpful and honest and if you say no they don’t try to pressure you so you can feel comfortable knowing this.

Visiting the Gold Souk in Dubai is like stepping into a treasure trove gleaming with opulence and history. The moment I entered this vibrant market, the dazzle of gold caught my eye from every corner. The sheer variety of designs, craftsmanship, and quality of gold on display is awe-inspiring. From delicate filigree to bold statement pieces, the range caters to every taste and occasion. What struck me most was the warm hospitality of the shopkeepers, who were not just sellers but storytellers, sharing the narratives behind each unique piece..

Authenticity of gold can be guaranteed here. The variety of ornaments is wide. The shopkeepers are helpful. However we can bargain quite a lot with respect to making charges and credit card txn charges. Cash is preferred by everyone here. In case you are looking to buy pure gold then there are bullion shops in the by lanes. They are slightly cheaper as well. The parking is around 500 metres away. A multi level parking.

This place will wow you for sure. The richness, the gold bazaar. As an Indian it’s a must stop to buy vat free gold jewellery. Best part about this place. Although it’s an open market, the walkway is covered by wooden roof, which makes it easier to walk and not be bothered by the heat too much. We went to Damas Jewellery shop among others. Professional people.

Last time I was here - about ten if fifteen years ago - the souq area was being ‘cleaned’ up for tourists. It was quite empty . It’s great to see that it is again a busy thriving area. I very much enjoyed walking around eating Indian snacks and checking out all the amazing gold art - that’s how it looks to me. Some amazing stuff

If you are trying to purchase gold don’t look elsewhere just head to gold souk and you will find whatever you are looking for sure. You can get down from gold souk metro and walk through these streets. And they have built a new complex as well but only few shops are opened as at 21st April 2022 but once the shops gets opened it will be a different experience.

To get to the Gold Souk you need to find entrance 3, this is just off the main road and very clearly labelled. There are so many gold stores surrounding the Gold Souk itself so make sure you have made it to the souk to truly experience it. As for buying jewellery here, I highly recommend it. Having shopped around at Dubai mall and other local jewellers you do get a better price within the Gold Souk but don’t be fooled, you really have to work for it! Every place you visit gives you advice and it’s hard to know who to trust but I’m confident most of the stores have your best interests at heart but they do want you to pay the highest possible price. After purchasing our wedding rings there, I would recommend going in at 50% of the initial/ labelled up price and then coming to an agreement somewhere in the middle l, ideally closer to your ideal price. I’d highly recommend doing your research first and identifying a budget that works for you as the Souk will quickly drag you in to more desirable pieces which are considerably more than your budget and the jewellery is beautiful so it’s tough to stick to budget. Don’t necessarily buy from the first store either, shop about a bit, you’ll soon meet someone you feel you can trust. There are a lot of friendly helpful stories within the Souk that will help you identify a durable piece. Haggling can be stressful, always keep your budget in mind! You genuinely could spend a whole day there shopping and haggling. I spent 5 hours there on my first visit and it flew by! I was lucky enough to witness the goldsmiths at work, it was a very interesting experience and one I won’t forget. You really can get gold, silver and platinum at great prices! 💍💎💸

The Gold Souk in Dubai is not just a marketplace; it's a living testament to the region's rich history and heritage. This soulful place has been a center of gold trading and craftsmanship for centuries, dating back to the early 19th century. Its roots go even deeper into the region's history, as Dubai has a long-standing tradition of trade and commerce, including the gold trade. As you wander through the narrow lanes of the Gold Souk, you can't help but feel the echoes of history resonating through the walls. The architecture of the souk, with its traditional wind-tower structures and intricate designs, transports you back in time to the days when Dubai was just a small trading post. The Gold Souk has witnessed the transformation of Dubai from a humble fishing village to a global hub of trade, finance, and luxury. Yet, amid all the skyscrapers and modernity, this ancient market remains a symbol of Dubai's enduring connection to its roots. It's fascinating to think about how the Gold Souk has been a place of commerce and cultural exchange for generations. The gold jewelry and artifacts here not only represent wealth and beauty but also serve as a bridge between the past and the present. It's a place where artisans continue to use traditional techniques to create stunning pieces of jewelry, carrying forward the legacy of craftsmanship. In a world where so much is constantly changing, the Gold Souk stands as a timeless treasure, a reflection of Dubai's enduring spirit and its deep-rooted love for gold. So, when you visit the Gold Souk, you're not just buying jewelry; you're taking a piece of this ancient soul with you, connecting to the heart of Dubai's history and culture.

Not only you will see lots of gold jewellery but the largest size jewellery also along with different varieties. Due to lots of competition you will get good deals on gold purchases as well.

If you are tired of Dubai Mall, consider visiting the older Dubai Souk. This fascinating area offers a unique experience where you can witness gold in ways you have never seen before. The craftsmanship of the gold items is simply amazing, and you'll be treated to a spectacular display of gold art. The entire area is a must-visit destination when you are in Dubai. Don't miss the opportunity to explore this captivating place!

I visited the Dubai Gold Souk and was blown away by the selection and quality of gold jewelry on offer. The souk is a treasure trove of stunning pieces, from traditional designs to modern styles, and caters to a range of budgets. The vendors were friendly and knowledgeable, and I never felt pressured to make a purchase. They were happy to show me their wares and answer any questions I had. I also appreciated the transparent pricing and the fact that I could negotiate on the price of the jewelry. The atmosphere of the souk is bustling and vibrant, and it's a great place to experience the local culture. There are plenty of other shops and stalls selling a range of goods, from spices to textiles, so it's worth taking some time to explore the area. One thing to note is that the souk can get quite busy, especially during peak hours, so it's worth being prepared for crowds. However, I found that the overall experience was well worth it. If you're in Dubai and looking to purchase some gold jewelry or just experience the local culture, I highly recommend a visit to the Dubai Gold Souk. It's a unique and memorable experience that you won't want to miss.

As someone who appreciates both the artistry and value of fine jewelry, visiting the Dubai Gold Souk was an experience I won't soon forget. Nestled in the heart of Dubai's historic commercial district, this gold souk is more than just a market; it's a glittering showcase of the Middle East's rich heritage in goldsmithing. Ambiance and Setting The moment I stepped into the souk, I was transported into a world of shimmering gold. From delicate filigree bracelets to bold statement necklaces, every piece of jewelry sparkled under the warm glow of the shop lights. The alleyways were bustling, filled with a vibrant mix of locals and tourists, all drawn by the allure of gold. Variety and Quality What impressed me most was the sheer variety of gold on offer. Whether you're looking for 22K traditional designs or more contemporary 18K pieces, there's something for every taste. I noticed a remarkable level of craftsmanship in the jewelry - intricate designs that spoke of the artisans' skill and passion. Pricing and Negotiation Despite its opulent display, the souk is known for its reasonable pricing. Bargaining is part of the experience here, and the shopkeepers expect it. With a bit of haggling, I secured a beautiful pair of earrings at a price that felt both fair and satisfying. Customer Service The traders in the souk were hospitable and knowledgeable. They were eager to share stories about the origins of their pieces, adding a personal touch that made the shopping experience even more special. Overall Experience The Dubai Gold Souk is not just a shopping destination; it's a cultural journey. Whether you're a serious buyer or just a window-shopper, the souk offers a glimpse into the opulent world of gold trading in Dubai. It's an experience that combines history, craftsmanship, and the thrill of a good bargain. I left the souk with not just a beautiful piece of jewelry, but also a treasure trove of memories. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Dubai!

I went to the Gold Souk late in the day when several of the shops had already closed but I still enjoyed walking around and seeing all the glittery gold! All the sales clerks try to entice passers by to come into their shop and offer tea and chocolate to lure you in. I need to go back earlier in the day so I can see the full glory of all the gold.

,s a good place to visit but everywhere you go there are people harassing you to buy bags and other fake items. The shops themselves are very nice with air con but again the sales assistants see you looking in their windows and before you know it they are outside pressuring you to buy buy buy from them. Always worth a visit but remember to haggle as the jewellery is very expensive at the souk.

The travel to gold souk was through a ferry and the ferry ride was refreshing in the scorching heat of Dubai. It is mainly a street with lots of gold shops . A great place to shop gold, mostly seen Indian jewellers there. Also you can buy souvenirs from this place. Be ready to walk and lot in the crowd and also keep yourselves hydrated. Not recommended if you have a very small baby with you and not interested in gold, this cab be skipped. The place is mesmerizing. The make and design are beautiful and sometimes even surprise you. Mostly you will see tourist and Indian people in this gold market. thay are very annoying they follow you to sell handbags and watches and god knows what. But it's a lifetime opportunity to visit once and see the market.

Dubai Gold souk or grand gold market in Dubai known as Sona Bazar is the main attraction of Dubai. Hundreds of jewellery shops display gold ornaments that is glittering at showcases. Golds mining from Switzerland and African countries reach international destinations transiting through Dubai. Gold Souk is a tourist spot also where hundreds of thousands of tourists crisscross daily taking photos and videos. Kilogrammes of gold will be distributed as prizes at the time of Dubai Gold Festival. It is a good place to purchase gold safely and spend the leisure time.

Nice place to walk around, take pictures and enjoy the vibe. The heat is pretty intense during May-June, so keep bottle of water or liquid while walking around. The Souk is around 10mins walk from the metro station, but using the Google map would help to find out. I went there in the night and the view around the Souk in Bur Dubai is really good. The spice souk is also near by and you can find variety type of spices there. But be ready to bargain properly and check the products well before buying from the vendor. I actually somehow didn't find the Indian/ Pakistani/ Emirati seller realiable there to argue 🙈but I'm sure some people who are good at it can take the advantage of doing great shopping there. Safety and security are pretty good- so you can easily move around the place in night as well.

The Gold Souk and Spice Souk are very attractive tourist destinations. Of course, there are things I want to buy. However, I don't think the old and dirty town and each store are in a state where you can shop comfortably. When it rains, the water is not drained and dirty water overflows. I looked for a toilet in this town but couldn't find it, and even when I rented one at a store it was very dirty. You won't find any restaurants above middle class. I think Dubai should be ambitious in redeveloping this city. I think hygiene is very important.

The souk is located in Dubai's commercial business district in Deira, in the locality of Al Dhagaya. The souk consists of over 380 retail shops, most of whom are jewelry traders. Some of the shops are as old as four decades, while some are as new as a year. The major items of mall includes Gold, Platinum, Diamonds and sometimes also deals in silver. (Translated by Google) One does not know what to say. The gold is mostly very yellow, as if it is not real, the prices are enormous, a couple of thousand euros for a men's necklace is the usual price. You can't even ask how much they cost for some exhibits. Vendors are annoying, like in Egypt, they tease you, pull you by the sleeve, they want to force you into a store or sell you Rolex, Omega or cashmere on the black market. There are no longer those producers, old crafts, everything has become just a mask.

Solid place for every Gold business. Not just any gold but proper gold. Place is a hub for gold stores and great customer services irrespective of the shop you enter and you'll by all means get find what you seek and at discounted prices too. We got everything we needed. Highly recommend this place for all gold trade-ins and purchases.

I have never seen such a display of gold. Actually it’s a glorious museum. Gorgeous, stunning necklaces of all types. In fact, many looked too heavy to wear. The gold souks were my favorite part because they were not insisting you come into their shops. .Amazing cluster of jewels. And this time, I topped up my visit by availing myself of the service of one of the stores to expand my ring. Took about an hour.

Great deals for gold and diamonds. I’ve never seen so much gold in one place it’s breathtaking for sure. Be prepared to for several men to constantly ask you to come by their store and check out their jewelry to the point it gets a bit annoying lol. You can bargain with sellers which makes the experience fun. I’d plan an entire day out of it next time I visit because you really need time to take it all in and explore your options. Ordering an Uber is a bit challenging because it’s hard to figure out where to tell them to go and there are a bunch of one ways in the area. I’d recommend walking to the Main Street to get your Uber/taxi.

Place to come for Gold! You can go exploring further to the different souks which are walking distance nearby. Expect a lot of tourists! Not a huge number of restaurants - so worth taking the Abra boat across the river for more restaurants!

If you like gold n diamond jewelry, then you must visit this market. There are hundreds of shops offering awesome jewelry for all ages. We spent an entire day here and still did not see the entire market. There are also many souvenirs and perfume shops in this market. The world's heaviest ring is in this market. Enjoy what the old Dubai has to offer and have fun.

The place is great if you are looking to buy. A lot of options for 18, 22 karat gold . The place can get a little hot but they have fans in the alley and acs inside he shops obviously . Do not forget to bargain at the shops . A great place to Showcase your haggling skills. Highly recommended if you are interested in buying or just viewing gold .

An absolute must see when in Dubai. A truly authentic place that is full Of history. If there is a souvenir to get - it would be a piece of gold jewelry from this place. The hustle and bustle of the market gives you the feeling of being directly immersed with the locals.

It's like a gold land for people who love gold. Tons of shops you can buy from. Make sure to speak to the manager if you want higher discount. You can negotiate the making prices which will for sure help you save some cost. And if you are a tourist you can claim the VAT back at the airport. It's about 80% of VAT you can get back. Happy shopping

The souk has all the types of golds 24 k,22 k ,21 k , 18 k, diamond, even silver. At the end it might get hard for you which one to chose from the variety of designs: Arabic, Indian, Italian... You can be sure, that here is no fake items, the government is strictly checking the goods, and they all have the proper licence. You can make quite good deals, if you are born bargainer. I just felt a bit annoyed from the guys standing outside and pushing you to buy from them, and were always leading you to a different shops. Better to go accompanied by men, if you don't want to get unnecessary too much attention to yourself.

Wow, buy gold here. Look for off the beat shops who are wholesalers, You cannot negotiate much, prices are set. It's also just a great place to go see.... lots of cool items like lace dresses made of gold.

Big souk with lots of stores. However you have to negotiate to get good price. Some designs are really nice but designs are generally a bit outdated and out of fashion.

Like the nearby Spice Souq, the Gold Souq is a chaotic marketplace where you can expect to be called out by many a hawker. The covered avenues do feel wider and more open here, and there are a couple of fascinating shop displays, given the more upmarket clientele. Still, I wouldn't recommend staying long unless you're in for some serious shopping, and if so, you'll want to exercise caution in order not to buy any unwanted counterfeits.…

(Translated by Google) Not impressed at all. Regular market with bling, often tasteless. The big question is the quality of this gold. Bothersome sellers because of whom even once again did not want to approach the window. Many have written about the wonderful atmosphere of this market ... for me it is the atmosphere of poverty, ignorance. Sorry for the time spent. The same can be said about the spice market.

Suitable for all ages but if you have a little one the take a pushchair with you. Closest metro station is Gold Souk which is about 7-10mins walk.

Marvelous experience visiting this place. Every shop has beautiful designs and a variety of jewellery to choose from. They say the quality and purity of gold in Dubai is incomparable and Gold Souq is a must visit if you are in this city

This Gold Souq is OG and a must visit place. I’ve been here twice on my past visits and have loved window shopping here. I’m told it’s cheaper to buy gold from here (compared to India) and that’s why many people were making purchases. I loved the collections. The sheer variety of gold and Diamond ornaments in this market is beyond comparison. I don’t think any other market in the world can match the variety and volume that this single market has. The stores are all air conditioned and everything but the market per Se is just covered by a roof and is partially open so it gets hot during the day. Even if you don’t plan to shop for gold, it’s worth seeing

  • 4/5 Rahil K. 5 months ago on Google
This is one of the main attractions of Dubai. You can come here and shop for gold ornaments, coins, biscuits etc. Below are a few points to remember: 1) They have variety of gold ornaments in 24,22,21,19,18 and 14 caratge 2) The price of gold is fixed (check the daily price on the city of gold website before visiting) and the cost of making is variable so the scope of bargain is only the making charges 3) Before making your decision roam around shops to get an idea of making charges, and design 4) Try to go into smaller lanes where there is less crowd to get better price 5) Haggle hard on the making charges to get the best deals. Normally you can easily bring the charge down by half of what was quoted 6) You will get Turkish, Italian, Indian and many other kind of designs available 7) If you are planning to buy jewelry with precious stones then take a person along who has the knowledge of stones as there is no standard price of the stones 8) Take proper bill of the purchase to avoid fraud. If you take the ornaments without bill then you invite chances of getting cheated 9) If you are a foreign national then you can claim around 85% of the VAT paid while departing 10) For Indian citizens who are tourist there is no exemption available and upon arrival in India the customs duty will have to be paid. Exemption of 10 grams/50 thousand for male and 20 grams/1 lac for females is only for people who have stayed outside India for more than 180 days.
