In my opinion, I do not suggest anyone stay at this location. Primarily, from my experience, the staff did not care about hospitality. For example, there was a wild bat that got trapped in the building one time. The staff was alerted to it. Their response was 'so.' The bat ended up staying in the building flying around for several more hours with no help. Also, there is no WI-FI in the rooms and when I communicated with management my displeasure, I was spoken to in the most inhumane and derogatory fashion. Flatly, if you're reading this, do not spend money at this establishment. There are plenty of other nice and comfy lodges in the area.

Lake views of Edersee. A popular holiday area. Booking essential. A youth hostel... so expect to share dormitory rooms and ask for towels. Most rooms have own bathroom and showers.

Great place in a beautiful location

I absolutely loved my time staying at the DJH Youth Hostel in Waldeck. It’s a beautiful property with easy access to the lake and beaches. It’s also just a short walk to the 510 bus stop and to the gondola up to the castle. There are many activities to keep you happy during your stay and the staff is incredibly helpful for all of your needs. Whether you speak English or German, you will find a home with this hostel. I would definitely stay here again.

Our English Camp, Kids Camp America, has been visiting the Waldeck Youth Hostel year after year. The location is perfect for families and young people - right next to the beautiful Edersee and surrounded by nature. The owners are lovely, hardworking people who are child-friendly, supportive and attentive. The hostel is well maintained, food is great and the atmosphere is always friendly. We highly recommend!
