If you r in Delhi and a foodie, this street is for u, as it is in old Delhi so u get nerrow street with lots of rush, small shops with variety of food and clothing items. Don’t expect cleanliness of place and proper seating arrangements. For paranthe I like Murthal, as they have emple parking space and good seating space, so choice is yours.

Went couple of years back. Damn crowded it was. We went to the paranthe wali gali and had paranthas in one of the restaurants aka dhabas. We had mirchi, brinjal, potato onion, karela paranthas. The paranthas have lost their earlier taste and flavour and quality. Deep fried paranthas and not too good. Had a nice time exploring though. But a bad incident happened with us where my purse was picked and I lost all the money. One needs to be very careful because you don’t even get to know that someone is opening ur purse and stealing your hard earned money.

Highly overpriced tiny fried paratha. Size is about the area of your palm and costs freaking ₹80 and tastes oily. If you are willing to pay for it, then do tell. Its a good business for making loads of money and feeding trash to people.

I don't know why this place is so famous First of all the parantha they are making is not parantha it's fried Puri fully dipped in oil or ghee . In this phase of life so much of ghee or oil is equal to heart problem Parantha are expensive Totally unhygienic place Nearest metro station - Chandani chowk Please do bring your car in this area Lots of parking problems

Taste – 5/5 Portions – 5/5 Service – 5/5 Value for money – 5/5 Nothing can beat the joy of having delicious paranthas and this place covers all your parantha cravings to the extreme. Whatever one can think of as a stuffing, those paranthas are being served here since 1875. Friendly staff, great service and pocket friendly prices, this place has got you all covered. I tried: 1. Papad parantha – 5/5 Absolutely loved the crunch of the parantha stuffed with fried papad served with delicious alloo sabzi, tangy achar, spicy mint chutney and sweet banana chutney. The super crunchy papad with the delicious sabzi topped with chutney made a wholesome scrumptious meal that just cant get any better. 2. Rabri parantha – 4/5 Delicious creamy and thick rabri and nuts were stuffed in the parantha and the dough was shaped very similar to a gujiya and each bite of the fried parantha was a true traditional indulgent dessert ready to dig in. It would have reached perfection if was cooked for a little longer but nevertheless it tasted amazing and was absolute worth the try. They serve many varieties, do try for yourself when you visit old delhi for the next time.

The place has lost it's glory in terms of taste. Only fame is there in its old name. Plus, they do deep frying of parathas to save time. They don't accept online payments, be ready with cash.

Tasty food in a very dangerously narrow and a grimy location. The taste of parathas here is worth ignoring the 'ambience'. Keep your belongings safe as it is always announced in this street. This can be reached only by walk from Chandini chowk. Parathes are around 75-100 rs and there are more number of varieties than can be had. Choose any and I bet they will be tasty.

The overwhelmingly bustling Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi is every traveller's delight. Paranthe Wali Gali is one of the most famous streets of Chandni Chowk running parallel to Dariba Kalan - the bazaar famous for its silverware. This street or Gali is a foodie's paradise, and as the name suggests, it means 'The Parantha Street' where one can be assured of the best variety of paranthas or the Indian flatbread. However, paranthas are not the only food items that make Paranthe Wali Gali so popular. The paranthas sold at these shops are unique and very different from the traditional Punjabi paranthas that are usually stuffed and then roasted on the flat 'Tawa' (flat dripping pan) partially cooking them with oil and finishing off the crisp parantha by smearing it with the desi ghee. However, the paranthas at Gali Paranthe Wali are a mix of the traditional Punjabi parantha and the Bedmi poori (deep-fried stuffed Indian bread), which is cooked not on the Tawa but deep-fried in a 'kadhai' (wok-like pot). It is served with spicy potato sabzi or curry and tamarind-banana chutney. It is not without anything that Chandni Chowk is considered to be a foodie's paradise. Its eateries are legendary because they follow age-old recipes and stick to the tradition that leads to taste and flavours that are unmatchable. A trip to Paranthe Wali Gali is an experience in itself, multi-sensory and fascinating. Jostling through the rush and managing to pass through the crowded streets, awaiting your turn to get a plate of yumminess and finding a place to sit all make up for the hectic but truly enjoyable experience of food travel to Chandni Chowk. So what are you waiting for? Spare a Sunday to head to the Paranthewali Gali to enjoy food, history and hospitality in a single, pocket-friendly adventure!

The place is over hyped... Overrated in every sense! The rates displayed are ignored when you sit there and eat. They tell you rate of per piece.... But when you sit down to eat you have to order full plate. Otherwise they charge 50% extra for what is displayed for one piece on the board. The size of paratha is just a little over a large "puri" and the cost is 100-150 for one paratha! Sometimes it may cost 200-250.. If you plant to go even for living the hype... I suggest you do not waste time! Just visited the place 2 days ago! I feel i could have eaten outside on a local shop much better parathas!

It's good in taste, size of different types of parathas is too small and very hard to eat. There are different types of parathas like aloo, gobhi, mushroom, mix veg, dal, bhindi, dry fruits parathas, etc.

I visited the place after all the hype created by food vloggers, but it doesn't met my expectations. I personally find every shop having the same menu, fried prathas with too much oil and siting place was very unhygienic. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Absolutely love the cheese paratha here!!! For newbies, let me tell you that their parathas are FRIED and not cooked like we do at home. So be mindful of the same. We tried the aloo paratha, was pretty decent but the cheese paratha stole the show!!!

I came from Indore, we have Sarafa food street, many food carnivals running. Being a foodie I consider Sarafa of Indore not tasty anymore it used to be good. But even that Sarafa is better than parathe wali gali. Come on Delhi. I expected so much from you. You are true north not south India where I know that northern dishes won’t be good. We found few shops, not even single one knows how to make. I do cook myself I know what masala they used and they lacked. It’s so badly crowded people doesn’t even know that this is very low. This is why people who visit Indore loves the taste of it.

One of the oldest lane in Chandni Chowk area of old Delhi where you get variety of Paranthe with tasty side dish

  • 3/5 devashish b. 1 year ago on Google
I visited this place with a lot of anticipation and excitement. It fell short on most aspects. The parathas offered here are pan fried ones and which they do taste good, it wasn't the finger eating good food that I was expecting. The paratha came in sets of two and 3 types of curry, a chutney and a pickle. The taste was good but could definitely have been better. On the plus side they offer some unique types of paratha like papad paratha, khurni etc. So if you wanna try something new maybe it's a place to go

Paranthe Wali Gali is an iconic lane at the Chandni Chowk market opposite Red Fort. The lane consists a numerous small restaurants who serve you varieties of Paratha (a north Indian bread dish made out of flour) in terms of flavours and ingredients used. It is a popular tourist destination, especially those keen on tasting the street food of Delhi.

Paranthe wali gali is famous for the restaurants serving fried parathas with various fillings. They usually serve pickles, chutney and 2-3 vegetables along with the Paratha. The fillings range from standard potato to cheese. Prices may differ as per the filling chosen. Minimum price per Paratha is 60INR and maximum is 150INR. It is located in Chandni chowk near Kinari bazaar.

Stuffed hot paranthas served for Rs 80. Dry fruit paranthas cost Rs 90. We are fried aloo parantha with salad, kaddu ki sabzi and aloo-soya wadiyan-chhole combo. Must visit place. It's less crowded on weekdays

The place has changed from the past and now it doesn't gives such feel of Paratha gali. Seems the owner are more interest in making money and forgetting the authenticity of the business settle by there ancestors. You don't have now an option to select the serving you want to eat in one portion. Only option being served is one time of serving in one portion.

It is waste of time. Poor quality of food, dirty oil and horrible smoke. Enjoy your home made stuffed paratha.

This is the best place for parantha and food lovers. But too crowdy as well. The prices of Paranthas are quite high but tastes good. The best part was having lassi. Lassi was just wow. If you are foodie and you can adjust in crowdy place then this is the best place for you.

This place is for all the food lovers out there. I simply cannot get enough of this place because everything I had here was heaven to my taste buds. I tried the cheese paratha, mushroom Paratha, and the banana paratha here and I just couldn't distinguish to choose what tastes the best. Next time I visit Delhi, I'd never wanna miss this place.

Very popular for their parnathas and lassi. Must try. Followed by the chai beside the shop if you're a tea lover

  • 4/5 Ajish G. 2 years ago on Google
Need to visit here for their fame. The paranthas are fully fired in butter and ghee. Giving it the special taste. They have made it a must to order at least two paranthas in a thali. But if you are on a food exploration then that won't be a problem.

  • 4/5 Priyank A. 2 years ago on Google
It is good and an excited place to go whenever one visiting Chandni Chowk. Service is fast and some of the Paranthas good in taste. I like mix parantha, cheese parantha is like Taco 🌮 in Dominos. Will try more in future 😜
