Our
first
visit
to
Mash
in
Hamburg
was
driven
by
the
reputation
of
their
exceptional
meat
cuts.
The
food
truly
lived
up
to
the
hype,
offering
an
excellent
dining
experience
with
nothing
to
fault
on
the
culinary
front.
However,
it
was
the
service
that
fell
short
of
expectations.
Our
initial
encounter
with
service
left
us
waiting
for
an
extended
period
before
someone
finally
took
our
order.
Although
the
food
arrived
promptly,
the
server
seemed
disoriented,
weaving
through
the
restaurant
trying
to
identify
the
correct
table
for
our
two
cuts
of
meat.
After
savoring
our
delectable
steaks,
the
true
extent
of
the
service's
issues
became
evident.
When
we
requested
the
bill
the
first
time,
we
were
assured
it
would
be
delivered
promptly,
but
10
minutes
passed
with
no
sign
of
it.
Politely,
I
inquired
with
another
server,
but
it
still
took
an
additional
5
minutes
for
the
bill
to
arrive.
The
frustration
peaked
when
we
waited
an
extra
15
minutes
for
someone
to
bring
the
card
terminal,
which
never
materialized.
Frustrated
and
after
repeated
requests,
I
took
it
upon
myself
to
confront
the
staff,
explaining
that
if
no
one
arrived
within
the
next
three
minutes,
we
would
leave
without
paying.
Suddenly,
the
staff
sprang
into
action,
but
not
without
a
peculiar
twist.
They
informed
my
father,
who
had
recently
undergone
leg
surgery,
that
he
needed
to
move
inside
as
the
terminal
had
no
reception
outside.
This
left
us
bewildered
–
why
hadn't
they
conveyed
this
earlier?
We
could
have
saved
30
minutes
of
waiting,
which
was
rather
comical.
Adding
to
the
frustration,
the
server
directly
inquired
about
the
tip,
a
gesture
that
seemed
particularly
rude
given
the
circumstances.
In
the
end,
our
experience
at
Mash
can
be
summarized
as
great
food
paired
with
a
confused
service
that
left
us
with
little
satisfaction.
It
was
somewhat
disappointing.
As
a
suggestion,
perhaps
the
restaurant
should
consider
assigning
specific
servers
to
individual
tables
to
minimize
the
chaos.
We
encountered
at
least
six
different
servers
throughout
the
evening,
contributing
to
the
confusion.
Update:
The
management
contacted
us
to
apologize
for
the
experience.
We
will
be
back
to
give
the
restaurant
a
second
chance.
