We have tried MASH as per the internet recommendation. The steak house looked very spacious and the interior fits the style of food and beverage. The starters were ok despite some modifications that we consider as strange. The steaks were very well prepared. No doubt here. If you are a meat lover! stop by. You will love it.

Our first visit to Mash in Hamburg was driven by the reputation of their exceptional meat cuts. The food truly lived up to the hype, offering an excellent dining experience with nothing to fault on the culinary front. However, it was the service that fell short of expectations. Our initial encounter with service left us waiting for an extended period before someone finally took our order. Although the food arrived promptly, the server seemed disoriented, weaving through the restaurant trying to identify the correct table for our two cuts of meat. After savoring our delectable steaks, the true extent of the service's issues became evident. When we requested the bill the first time, we were assured it would be delivered promptly, but 10 minutes passed with no sign of it. Politely, I inquired with another server, but it still took an additional 5 minutes for the bill to arrive. The frustration peaked when we waited an extra 15 minutes for someone to bring the card terminal, which never materialized. Frustrated and after repeated requests, I took it upon myself to confront the staff, explaining that if no one arrived within the next three minutes, we would leave without paying. Suddenly, the staff sprang into action, but not without a peculiar twist. They informed my father, who had recently undergone leg surgery, that he needed to move inside as the terminal had no reception outside. This left us bewildered – why hadn't they conveyed this earlier? We could have saved 30 minutes of waiting, which was rather comical. Adding to the frustration, the server directly inquired about the tip, a gesture that seemed particularly rude given the circumstances. In the end, our experience at Mash can be summarized as great food paired with a confused service that left us with little satisfaction. It was somewhat disappointing. As a suggestion, perhaps the restaurant should consider assigning specific servers to individual tables to minimize the chaos. We encountered at least six different servers throughout the evening, contributing to the confusion. Update: The management contacted us to apologize for the experience. We will be back to give the restaurant a second chance.

very good service, excellent food and wine. to be specific: I got delicious Danish rib eye, dry aged, and we had an outstanding Malbec accompanying. After my favor: you should also taste the dark beer which you get in an iced glass and it has a very distinguish caramel note and smooth perlage. you should also have a look at the wine and champaign "cellars" which are on the ground floor.

Great service by Christian. Really attentive, great small talk without being too much. Food was excellent and the experience was worth the money. Big thanks again to Christian for good service and recommendations.

Rude and unfriendly host. We arrived and waited at the door for 5 minutes until someone greeted us. The host seemed annoyed that we had arrived early and rather than ushering us to the bar to wait for our table he abruptly cut us off to talk to someone else. We reserved Mash for a birthday treat but after this rude service was not prepared to spend €100+ when we were clearly an inconvenience. Instead we went to the Thai restaurant next door where the staff couldn’t have been more opposite to the unfriendly experience at Mash.

10/10 dinner. David provided fantastic service to our table in both German and English, Great and unforgettable experience. Will recommend to all in the area. Thank you again to the team for a lovely evening.

Quite the disappointment: Not only did we have to wait for an hour between starters and the main course, but when the steaks arrived they were completely overcooked on one side. Considering the €74 price tag for the Omaha beef, this is completely unacceptable!

We got there at 20:00 for our reservation. The waiting line was so long already. We then were taken to our table where we had to wait for a waiter to come and take our order. The waiter said we have a delay because of a system shutdown and food will be 20 mins late, which was ok for us. We left at 22:30 without having dinner! Food was never served! It would have been much better to tell people at the door that you can’t serve them tonight. It was my husband’s birthday and it got ruined! Thanks to Mash! Horrible experience.

Amazing steaks, flavorful and melting in your mouth, nice atmosphere. The chilly fries would be tastier if they had a bit of salt though.

Me and my Girlfriend were in Germany for a few weeks, before the lockdown. We wanted to taste something from our own Country, stakes! We were in the restaurant and it was the best stake I ever had for diner. The employees there were very friendly and comfortable. The stake was perfect medium rare. Me and my girlfriend are missing this spot in Hamburg, the best spot of the whole town!! Greetings, best wishes and luck for the employees during the lockdown! Stay safe you guys.

Classy steak restaurant with a divided interior. One side looks like a classic american steak house such as capital grill. The other side have booths , more like a family restaurant or a sports bar. However our food was good, sides and service perfect and our meat on point. On strange thing i don't get. A restaurant with the name mash, do actually no longer offer mash as a side. Hard to understand given the fact that their mash was outstanding. Now they serve gratin and that's a big no no in my opinion.

Had a very pleasant night with absolutely great food. The Tomahawk was one of the best steaks I ever had and the wine selection offers something for every enjoyer of good wine. The staff was kind and attentive.

The food was good but don't expect it to be out of this world, good quality steak that's cooked perfectly. The prices are fair for that type of place but I had higher expectations. The service was okay. For us we got 3 different waiters in 90 minutes, one of them was in training, who was very friendly but a bit clumsy, thankfully nothing bad happened. If you really need the upscale experience and don't mind to pay extra for it then this is a good place to be as pretentious as you want. If you are just looking high quality food that's cooked perfectly for a normal price then there are many cheaper options in Hamburg with excellent steak quality. Hope this helps.

I went to this restaurant for my birthday. I was served by Kaltrina, she was very polite, sweet and attentive. It was pleasant. The meal was very good too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant !
