This was the poorest service I've EVER HAD!! The portions were VERY SMALL!! The lady that took my order over the phone was rude. When I got there she was rude. I got charged for food I didn't receive. When I got there my order was sitting on the counter. When I got home my food was cold mind you I live 2 min away!! I WILL NEVER WASTE MY MONEY OR TIME HERE AGAIN!!

Food was awesome. Large portions and they have a big buffet too. Super nice people. Will stop by again when driving through.

Found this place after our usual Deming stop was closed for memorial day. I must say we weren’t disappointed . Both me and my daughter had the combination plate which they were out of chile rellenos. We didn’t care as we were not craving them. Instead I was allowed to sub a shredded beef gordita. The rice was cooked to perfection. The beans not so much but the rest of the plate was slightly above average. The service was very good. The young waitress we had was very energetic,polite, and attentive. I did not give it 5 stars because nothing stood out as overly impressive. Our usual spot is still better but I must say we enjoyed our meal. Thank you!!

Currently open to outdoor patio open. Passing through the second Demming NM, exit. Stopped for breakfast. Was pleasantly surprised by the wait staff. They are helpful and overall not much of a wait time for small parties. The food was great and authentic. Loved my Breakfast Steak Combo. The steak was cooked well and the Enchiladas are delicious as well. Would come back agsin.

Food was excellent, we ordered the mixed fajita and fajita de pollo. Chicken and steak were juicy and flavorful, best Mexican rice and beans I've ever had.

Wow! The most enjoyable and delicious meal, I have had in quite a while. You need to try the Chile conqueso! The best! The chicken fajitas were awesome too.

The young Lady that served us was radiant with personality and professionalism. The atmosphere was ...🤔how should I say...off? Couldn't quite put my finger on it. The food was a little bit better or at least fresher than my first visit a year ago, so it got 3 stars this time. There was only one other small family of 3, and they were just receiving their orders when we were getting seated, so I'm still in awe of why it takes 40 minutes plus to eat?🤔🙄

Had the opportunity to get out and enjoy the evening. I heard about the Friday night Spooktactular buffet dance at La Fonda's restaurant, so I stopped by for the event and was surprise at the turnout. It was packed, the entertainment perfect and the food was good as always. BTW, put peach cobbler on the menu for an everyday desert. An order of peach cobbler warmed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I'm on it.

Don't go in there if you are hungry. Our server was good, took our order and everything with a smile. Then, the owner put her at the register, so another girl was on the floor. We asked her for more salsa and chips, never got them!! She attended the couple next to us, who came in way after us. Let's just say our experience here was not a Good One!! Won't Be Back either!! Food was not good either.

Swung in as I was passing through Deming. The food was decent, but nothing that really stood out. Prices we're a little high for what you get. Service was very slow, we waited about 30 minutes to get our food. The servers we're super nice though. Salad bar was a bit lacking and the ranch dressing was definitely watered down. Don't think I'll be back, but the locals seemed pretty happy.

It has the best Mexican food in New mexico! Service is phenomenal, the prices are unbeatable, and oh did I mention the Michelin star level food? This is honestly the best place that you can get some real home cooked Mexican food.

We're traveling from California to Georgia with our 2 Frenchie Doggies. And we asked if we could bring a table outside, so the dogs can be w/us. The wonderful waitress said, bring them in, and I'll put you in a far corner. That was going way and beyond! That's amazingly awesome! Just what we needed, and our 2 Frenchies thank you too! Great service! Great food! Great experience!🥰

Driving from coast to coast and happened into this restaurant around 30 minutes before closing. The woman working was very kind and took care of us. We ate fast and asked for to-go boxes as we didn't want to hold them up with their closing procedures. As a chef and restaurant owner myself, I absolutely understand about customers coming in at the last moment when everyone just wants to go home. Our server (sorry I never got her name but, she was absolutely gorgeous) asked where we were from and strangely enough, she knows someone from our small town. Anyways, the food was solid and the whole beans were great. The service was also great. If you are in the area, give this place a go.

Excellent food and amazing service. I had the fajitas and I highly recommend them. I had one minor issue and my outstanding server took care of it right away. She was very friendly and attentive. It was so good that I ended up getting an order to go for dinner. Prices were also very reasonable. Oh, and the salsa is excellent!

Good food. We got there just after the lunch crowd so our waitress was busy cleaning tables too. She was very nice and friendly. You get a lot of food for your money! I thought their salsa was delicious!

Great place for a big family lunch. Took my grandmother that hasn't been there since the 60's she said the food tasted the same & the restaurant almost looks the same. The waitress was fast, nice & got everything we needed in under a minute.

Family own business and one of the Demings favorite spot. Where just about everyone know each other in some form of way. Food is always good here. When I come in town we always stop by to eat. Today I step on for Breakfast. Had the Chilaquiles they where fantastic. A must have

Friendly staff. Great food. Best michelada in Deming. We had car trouble and everything was closed on Sunday and they helped us find some people in town to fix it even when they were busy with rush hour crowd. That's as friendly as they can get.

For simple food with a great taste and plenty to eat, go to La Fonda Restaurant.

Our waitress was outstanding!! Food coming out of the kitchen was slow. We went in right after the lunch rush. Maybe that had something to do with it. Their selections are somewhat limited compared to other restaurants in the area.

We sat down and were greeted but after that it went straight downhill. We weren't served chips and salsa until we asked and then when we tried to order our meals vital information about the food was left out. Our food arrives and it tastes straight from a can. The meat had NO flavor from spices, the chips were overcooked, the rice and beans were fine, the hamburger beef taste like what cat food smells like, and the salt was salty. At least it wasn't expensive. But THEN they attempted to charge twice for a plate that was already charged.

Green chicken enchiladas are my go to order here. If you don't feel like cooking call in an order for some trays of food or for an event. Prices are fair and the food is great. Rice, beans, tacos, fajitas etc all good.

Visiting from out of state, I was looking forward to Mexican food here in New Mexico. We went to La Fonda for lunch. It wasn't busy so we got a table right away. There was a decent amount of options to order. It seemed to take quite awhile to get our food. The portions sizes were great and the food was average.

The presentation of the food was ok. But it has no flavor. Our waitress never bothered to come by to see if everything was ok. Had to get her attention to ask for the rest of our order. My wife's food was cold. Guacamole was not fresh but bought from a jar or can. My wife being mexican decent would not recommend this place anyone.

Wherever my wife and I travel to, we like to eat out at local places to get a taste of the area. La Fonda is AMAZING! Hands down the best authentic Mexican cuisine I have ever had, and we went to Mexico. Highly recommend this little gem hidden in Deming, New Mexico.

Slow service possibly due to lack of help. I can look past that but the food was so lackluster that it was certainly not worth the price. If I order something from your menu and you come back to me 15 minutes later to tell me that you don’t have any; you don’t know what you are doing. We were dining with another couple at our table and their dishes were served 10 minutes before ours. Eat here if you want to be disappointed.

I hate leaving a 2 star on this place but it would have been a 3 if not for one thing. The food was average but the one thing that dropped this establishment to 2 was the chile con queso and chips. The queso was water thin, had no flavor, it was like they dropped a can of great value chopped chile in it and the topper was it was served with potato chips!!! Like really? This is a Mexican restaurant and queso should be served with tortilla chips. On a positive note our server was extremely nice, attentive and courteous even though she assumed I was Anglo when I asked about the carne adovada tacos (she said they are made with really hot chile, which I love). We actually had a good laugh about that comment.
