Always, and I mean always, we are so pleased with the delicious home made food, the friendly impeccable service and the pie we always take home! If you’re in a rush, call ahead. If you want a good sit down meal and visit, come in!!!! Sometimes we ride from Alamogordo just for a meal! Always on our way to or from Tucson, it’s a must stop for us.

Comfort food at its best. Half way through my meal I felt like I needed to hit grandmas couch and pass out for a couple hours while the price is right is playing in the background. Tasted home cooked and the service makes you feel like your family. The pies are amazing!! The cornbread fluffy and honestly the server was super sweet. Definitely will come back

Home cooking in a quaint little place with 5 tables inside and a couple outside. It's a little difficult to find, because it's in the alley behind the Wells Fargo Bank. It's been owned for 13 years by a couple originally from Mississippi. He does most of the cooking and she bakes the pies. I hesitate to order meatloaf anywhere, but glad I did here. My husband had the skillet fried chicken...be prepared, that takes about 30 minutes, as it is cooked when ordered. We had no concerns about the wait, GOOD chicken is worth waiting for. YUM! A must try when in Deming!

We are moving cross country on the week of Thanksgiving and we just figured we would stop at Cracker Barrel today to make the most out of the holiday. Boy, am I glad I researched the area more for this gem. The food was impeccable and really tasted like home cooking. The meatloaf and chicken fingers were fantastic... the cornbread, Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were delicious! Perfectly portioned. Customer service was so welcoming. Meant so much to us being away from family and friends on the holidays. Please do yourselves a favor and support this business. We hope both owners get to spend some time celebrating the holidays.

This was as they say “A Hidden Gem”. The menu was filled with a variety of choices. Catching my eye was the stuffed cabbage and stuffed peppers. Unfortunately they were sold out on the stuffed cabbage but the stuffed peppers were a great substitute. The meal started with the best corn bread I have had in a while. It felt like you were visiting someone’s home for dinner. The meal ended with a fabulous piece of silk pie.

A small diner serving homemade meal. The owner seemed to do all the work. As soon as I entered in, she asked, “are you coming to eat?” Huh? I was confused, what’s that mean? I ordered boiled shrimps with stuff and fish nuggets. I was told the stuff meant mushrooms but I didn’t see any mushroom on my plate. I asked for the cornbread, she asked no cornbread (included) either. Uhm… but the menu said included. The foods tasted okay but for $14.95, I expected large shrimps and more stuff on my plate.

As much as I really wanted so much to have a good experience here, I really didn't. The owner lady was extremely nice, but my experience was pretty terrible. I can understand a smaller place taking a little longer to cook your food, but 55 minutes is a little over the top. That's something that you should definitely tell people 1st. We ordered a pulled pork meal and a catfish meal. The catfish meal was literally 1 tiny piece of fish (see picture) for $45 including a tip. The food took so long that we had to get it to go as I still had 5+ hours of driving ahead of me. Then to make it worse, all of the sides were cold. Also, I asked if utensils and condiments were I the bag, and was told yes. Just forks, nothing else. So I got to eat my 1 piece of fish just plain.

Was hoping to eat here, as highly recommended by friends. Stopped by at 12:40pm on a Thursday, closed. No explanation. Posting the sign on the door as their listed hours. Call before you go and see if they are actually open.

Sweet lil hole in the wall with a literal mom n pop couple running their Southern diner nestled in the Southwest. Arnold Palmer was the perfect blend of sweet and tart. Sweet cornbread was bomb, fresh mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes tasted like thanksgiving dinner, fried okra, BBQ brisket was all on point. Appetizer of Catfish nuggets, coleslaw, was really good. Mac and cheese, puled pork or chicken and greens my date had the meatloaf and potatoe salad and he cleaned his plate so fast we didn't snap much photos 😂 everything was definitely southern comfort and hit you in your soul. 🕊️ As for the pies, we tried millionaire and french silk. Not our cup of tea but that's not to say someone else will feel the same. Everyone has different tastes. Definitely worth a try. *Bring cash. 🤑

I got served in a Styrofoam plate when I wasn't eating out. The pulled pork was hard and cold. The beans were the best part. They said everything is homemade, but I doubt it. I felt like I sat down at a cafeteria to eat. The server was alright. I think this place would do a lot better if 1 they took different forms of payment other than just cash and 2 had a smaller selection of food so they can focus on thr quality of it more.

This place is a hidden gem. The entrance is on the side street, and from the minute we walked in we were greeted with friendship and then great food. We got the meatloaf and catfish nuggets. Definitely try the coleslaw and cornbread.

I read about this place and we stopped in on our way home from vacation. The service and food was great! You can't go wrong stopping by Elisa's House ot Pies.

A real secret with great home cooked soul food. We had the skillet fried chicken, and the bbq ribs complete with collard greens and the whole works. Finished with home made pie. The owners could not have been nicer and more charming. A little tricky to find behind the Wells Fargo, but only two minutes off I-10. Definitely try it.

Super cute little restaurant, gracious owner, wait was reasonable and we really enjoyed our pulled pork sandwiches. My only issue was the pie and price. $8.25 for a very tiny slice of pie. It was good, not amazing. We each had a pulled pork sandwich w/fries, tea, and slice of pie, our total before tip $57.00

I didn't take pics of the late lunch we had earlier today, but it was soooo good, and this pie? My husband and I LOVE it. Highly recommend this place, and this pie is pineapple-coconut. I don't always like pie crust, but hers is fantastic and so flaky! I'm definitely coming back ASAP! 💗

Home-cooked food at its finest ❤️. I had stuffed cabbage and my husband had the catfish. Both were excellent. 3 side dishes plus cornbread were included. The restaurant itself is very cozy and homey, if a bit hard to find since it's kind of in an alley. Don't go there if you're in a hurry because everything is lovingly made to order.

Elisa's is a tiny, local owned eatery with old school, Southern cooking. Stick to your ribs fare with all the favorites of home cooking. The corn bread is SO good and the meatloaf was amazing! It could all share a table with my grandmother's food. The owner is an wonderful lady who greets you with a genuine smile.

This is a shop run by an old couple. It’s the first time I have eaten such delicious food. The ingredients here are very fresh, and all the food is freshly made. The chili pies here are very delicious and it’s worth the wait.

This is a magic little place that I was so lucky to find. I was specifically looking for something with outdoor seats because my dad had his dog with him. I was pleasantly surprised by the uniqueness of the place, along with how delicious the food was. I have no idea when I'll be back in Deming, but I'll be sure to visit Elisa's again.

What a find! Such pleasant folks to visit with, Elisa and Curtis are a real treasure. We loved the food and the atmosphere. I like to imagine I sat in Willie Nelson's chair, I felt so special! The pies are the star of the show here. Take Elisa up on her suggestion, and order a whole sampler pie made up all the available pieces that day. I can hardly wait to go back. I may make the trip from Belen to Deming just to get the pie. Of course I'll have to fill up on soul food while I'm there. Thanks again, Elisa, for an awesome experience! See you soon 🙂

Best soul food ever! Better than any I ever had in Louisiana. Had outstanding ribs, fried okra, candied yams, collard greens, and fried cabbage. And the jalapeno cornbread is award worthy! And then we moved on to pie. Elisa makes the best buttermilk pie and cherry pie ever. Yes, my son and I shared a slice of each and next time I am bringing a pie home with me. It was beyond delicious!!!. Like no pie I have ever tasted....

Ribs dry and hard I didn't get one bite of the ribs, collards tough, pulled pork like rubber, shredded chicken eh, ok but I wouldn't order. Cornbread of the hook... Delicious! Mashed potatoes homemade & delicious. I was disappointed to say the least. The service was good in my opinion very homey. The restaurant small quaint comfortable. I was so looking forward to a good home meal. Expensive which I don't mind paying IF the food is good unfortunately it wasn't.

So glad we stopped by on our way through Demming!! All of our food was really good, but the brisket was definitely a stand out. My ribs were top notch too. Save room for pie! I loved my key lime and the french silk was a chocolate lover's dream. Definitely stopping again.

We stopped here for lunch on our way from ABQ to Tucson as we were looking for something other than New Mexican/Mexican food offerings. It turned out to be an excellent choice! The restaurant is cute and cozy, and the owners are very nice. Service was excellent. The food, however, was beyond excellent. My colleague was literally moaning after her first bite of the cornbread. I, myself, have celiac disease, and there were plenty of delicious gluten free menu options available to me. The cornmeal dusted catfish had such a clean, fresh taste. The sides were all tasty, and if you haven't added walnuts to your coleslaw before, you've been missing out! I loved this place and will now eat here every time I drive through Deming.

This establishment has resided here for 15 years. What a testament to the yummy food. Consumed a meatloaf sandwich, with beans and mash potatoes. The meatloaf was served on a toasted but soft bun. Totally made the sandwich. It was a tough pie choice. All my favorites. So I settled for a slice of sweet potato pie to eat there and took a key lime slice to have a date with later this evening. Google maps gives you incorrect directions. Its located in an alley behind where google maps tells you to drive. It is right beside the Wells Fargo bank parking lot. The owner is there cooking away so go and say hello and enjoy a meal. Or at least a pie!

In the land of enchiladas and burritos this was a real treat. My man and I both ordered the catfish plate which came with a choice of three sides.. Mine was cooked to perfection. The room is enchanting being housed in a small brick building from 1914. It's a Mom and Pop operation . We cleaned our plates and had a nice visit too.

We love Elisa's great food, great owners we stopped in tonight to eat, but they weren't open. I'm hoping they are both OK. We would like to eat there before leaving town. If you all see this message please let us know if you will be open tomorrow night. Again hoping all is well, sending love and light to you both.
