This cafe will transport you back in time to when simple things brought great comfort. It is located on the back side of a service road but the customer service is great. If you like rancheros and chorizo you will love this place. The reason I gave them four stars is because the plant on the inside near the front door was not a cactus. I wanted to see some cactus at the cactus cafe. The food was great!

4.5 This place is conveniently next to the highway. Extremely delicious! I do agree that the salsa is very good. The bathrooms could be kept a little nicer. That's the only reason it's not a 5. Don't judge the place based on the exterior.

Not much to look at outside or inside really, by all accounts the food and service should have matched but were fantastic!! Probably the biggest highlight of our long day driving. I got the steak tacos, which had grilled tortillas, and tender and flavorful steak bits inside. Delightful.

We got into Deming late (thanks, Delta, for nothing). Got to the restaurant 10 minutes prior to closing, and we were the only ones in the place. The crew was nice enough to fire everything back up to serve us! The smoked queso dip was phenomenal. Highly recommend! The dinners were amazing, amd bigger portions than we could finish. 10/10 recommend, and would eat there again and again.

Excellent dinner! I had the smoky cheese queso to start with and the pork hardshell Taco plate. Both were delicious! The server was very friendly and attentive. I'll definitely stop here again when travelling through Deming!

I will start by saying I've only had breakfast here. Had the classic 2 eggs, meat, and hashbrowns with toast. Sausage was two huge patties and yummy. Good service as well, waitress asked when I wanted green chile on the side if I wanted chopped or "The Sauce." "The Sauce" rocked my world, well balanced, not extremely spicy, clean plate means good food A++. Lastly, price wasnt too bad, for these days... $$

Not overly impressed with this restaurant. It did seem to be having some staffing issues. They should not let that effect the food quality. Our waiter was super friendly and as responsive as he could be. I am huge fan of brisket and had my hopes up when I saw that they have brisket tacos on the menu. They also have a gigantic smoker out front. So, I was picturing big chunks of brisket in my tacos but instead received dry shaved meat. It could have been any cut of meat. If it was brisket, they ruined it. Not sure if that is how they usually serve it or if they had a shortage. Also, the refried beans were flavorless and seamed like they came straight from a can.

This was our last stop traveling back home. We both got the green chili burger, they were large and delicious! My husband got the seasoned fries which I think could have been cooked longer, I got the onion rings and they were great and crispy. We sat there for awhile after eating as we weren't told to pay up front and the restrooms could use some work as the ladies bathroom door handle was falling off the door.

Some things were out of stock. Steaks were limited as all other restaurants after the pandemic. Very nice service and management. We'll go back again.

So glad they provided a copy of their menu to the hotel. After a long day of driving I just didn't want to get back in the car. Their's was the only menu and I am ever so happy it was. Delivery was right on time, food was still hot when it got here. Portion size was perfect. Food tasted AMAZING.

We visited on Mother's Day and it was super busy but they warned us and we were fine enjoying the cheerful atmosphere, great tortilla chips, and amazing salsa. It just got better from there. I got the chicken taco plate. The meat was seasoned to perfection and the tortillas were perfect. Hubby got the M&M madness--essentially a meal of three different types of meats, all of which were delicious. Looking forward to coming back and trying the rest of the menu!

The food was OK, nothing great. The green salsa was very good, but the chips were inconsistent one batch was crunch, but the other was more chewy. We guess our server was new or something because I asked if I could get my burger medium and she said they were all the same. I guess she didn't understand I wanted it cooked medium, but it came that way. I guess she thought I wanted a smaller burger or something.

It was our first time here passing through with Mom & Dad. Dinner started off with complimentary salsa and chips.We enjoyed the bbq ribs which were very tender, juicy and had just the right amount of spice. Good variety of sides. My favorite was grilled asparagus and seasoned fries. Free drink refills, Raspberry cheesecake for dessert. Need I say more. We had excellent service by our waitress and owner even came out to check on us. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! They even honored our request for a big bag of ice for a previous injury to Dad’s elbow he got from falling earlier in the day. I say that’s excellent hospitality! Excellent food and service! I had the grilled shrimp and it was wonderful.We dine there often and are always very happy with the service. The owner is very friendly and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. I have tried other items on the menu and everything is delicious. Their green chile is very good.Chips and salsa are always spot on!

The service was excellent. Quick and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Very clean..enter variety was good. The rest room needs some attention. No hand towels and door closures not working.

The brisket was very good; good flavor and was not dry. Waitress was very prompt and polite. Food came out quick!

We are so glad we stopped at the Cactus Cafe for lunch!! The Mexican chips & green Chile salsa were delicious right off the bat. The service was friendly and responsive. The atmosphere was warm, New Mexican, classic oldies music, and plenty of space. Most of my table saw Tacos a neighbor table got and changed their minds last minute to get tacos as well. And they were not disappointed. The chicken tacos, especially, were so good! I had a carne asada burrito plate, and it was delicious. The red sauce on top was spicy enough for me to slow down and the meat was tender and yummy.

I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with seasoned fries and thought that it was the best mushroom Swiss burger I’ve ever had! Our waitress was very sweet, made sure our drinks stayed full, and made sure we had everything we needed. I’m so glad we stopped by on our way through town! I’ll definitely come again if I’m ever in the area!

Overall the food and service was amazing!!! I ended up getting the Tacos Plate and they were tasty! The rice and beans were really good and the tacos as well! I also ordered some waffles with eggs and sausage with a side of potato wedges and they were good!!! The sausage tasted really good. The eggs on the other hand were light and fluffy and that made them even better 🤌 The waffles on the other hand... 🤌 Light and fluffy, but very tasty! I'd definitely recommend travelers to come out and stop here to eat. Especially their cheesecake! First time trying the cheesecake (raspberry) and it was phenomenal! I'd definitely come back here whenever I'm traveling out.

Great food, great atmosphere! Best green cheese enchiladas I’ve had and trust me I’ve had them all over the place! The restaurant is really nice on the inside, Mexican themed architecture and decor, which adds to the ambiance of the place. Our waitress was the only one working the entire restaurant and was still very kind and attentive. Be patient if you stop by and enjoy the beauty of the restaurant and the delicious salsa and chips while you wait! Over all highly recommend!!

Older restaurant but very clean. Food was pretty good. My husband spoke highly of the chili burger.

Great service but the smoked meat combo came out cold. They fixed it, and then I learned that the cook had fainted while preparing our meals. No wonder. Lots of food. $50 for two meals and two beers.

Great local spot! The guy running it was nice and my burrito was exactly what I was looking for and very quick at a reasonable price. Glad I went here instead of McDonald’s

Travel alot between texas and arizona and decided to stop here for the first time. Had the chile rellenos along with 4 other taco plates. Everything was delicious and the staff was super friendly. Will definitely stop here on our next trip.

Yes, I should have known the price was too crazy good to be true. I was tired and distracted ($10, yes I should have known those prices don't exist). That being said, how do you forget the brisket especially after telling you I was planning to get fast food but after being told about your brisket I was craving it and "what do you have with brisket in it." She ordered my sides and my soda...but it never occurred to me that she'd drop the ball on the brisket. I came back asking to order the brisket and for a discount. After some back and forth with her manager I tell her just 10% because really it's just the principal for me. He comes back a couple minutes claiming he's all out of brisket. That's how I ended up with their salad and beans with a Taco Bell Mexican Pizza and feeling completely let down after not getting what I was craving. I mean what I got from them was good.

Excelente! Easy on, easy off the frwy. Cheese enchiladas, chicken tacos, chips, salsa and guacamole were all good. Service was fast and friendly. Was surprised they weren't busy. Our new favorite place to eat in Deming.

We just stopped here on our way home from Albequerque to Tucson with our dog and this was an absolute gem! Food was fabulous, the waitress was THE sweetest, and it was clean and SO nice inside. I highly recommend this delicious restaurant!

The Cactus cafe has hands down the best chips and salsa in town. It is my favorite place to go for a great steak! Highly recommend the steaks with seasoned fries!!
