This was our first time trying the Sidewalk Cafe. We were celebrating my husband's Birthday yesterday. This is the place he picked to eat at. He ordered a burger with an egg on it and fries. My husband loved the bread that the hamburger was served on. My husband didn't care so much for the quality of the burger itself. I ordered the Ruben sandwich with onion rings. It was very tasty. I enjoyed it! We both had half cut peach flavored teas which were good. Our Server was wonderful! I believe his name was Eric. He was very intuned to our needs. We will be back. It was a nice experience. Something different!

Food was mediocre at best. French fries were not fresh, just frozen ones that had been heated up. The corn was not fresh either. It obviously came out of a can. The grilled chicken breast was fairly decent, however. The service was good, which was the only reason I gave this place 3 stars instead of 2. Wanted to order a mini pie, but only 2 out of the five on the menu were even available, neither of which were what I wanted. This was around 4:30 PM Saturday afternoon, so not as though it was toward the end of an evening when they'd have sold out of everything. For what you get, I felt like the dinners were overpriced. I can open canned food and heat frozen fries at home and even grill a chicken breast with very little seasoning like theirs for a lot less money. I will not likely revisit this place.

Food portions are very large. Definitely share your meal or plan to take half home. I really enjoyed the sandwiches and fried okra. Service was friendly. Atmosphere is nothing special but clean.

This place is very good! Hot chocolate 5/5, a nice almsot thick but still liquid smooth hot chocolate, very rich. The whipped cream on top was a 10 French toast combo -French toast: 5/5, it was very thick and nice - eggs 3/5: very bland honestly, I mean I got over medium, so not expecting it to be salt and peppered before hand, and when I did add some salt and pepper it was goodish? Something about the eggs was very watery - Bacon: 4/5, it was good! I think It wasn't pork bacon tho? It was cooked perfectly but not necessarily my taste preference for it -Hashbrowns: 1/5 , I really didn't like it honestly. The top layer had a very thin crunch but underneath that the potatoes just tasted like wet startch with the consistency of wet slop. No seasoning at all. And when I did add salt and pepper it didn't help much. Personally I love crunchy / cooked well hashbrowns. If you like hashbrowns more on the wet squishy side these would be great for you. Eggs Benedict 3/5: this was my frienss meal and she said the same thing about the hashbrowns and that the eggs was a little too watery The presentation of our plates and food was absolutely beautiful honestly 5/5 stars on plating. This place is honestly good, would I come here again? yeah! would I go out of my way to come here? No I don't think so! The food is generally good food. There's no seasoning at all, very bland food honestly. No seasoning (or salt and pepper) on anything. But hey! some people like that!! If you're in the area go ahead and try it! oh and also!!! the service was 10/10 amazing, all the servers were so sweet, attentive and caring!

PROs: Plenty of parking. Great location and surrounding areas. Indoor seatings. Clean and organized atmosphere. Friendly and warm customer service. Food was great with fresh brewed coffee. Pleasant music played in the background of Fleetwood Mac, Chicago and various artists. CONs: None that we found. Approx: $37 (with tip) we ordered meat lovers omelet (picture shows smothered with sour cream) and crosissant sandwich (subbed with gluten free bread). Thank you to Trinity (our waitress) for treating us well & your beautiful smile.

I ordered the Chicken Strips with Fries. I highly recommend the French Toast if you go for breakfast. Everything we ordered was delicious!! Don’t forget to grab a slice of cake or a piece of pie to go. (They have fresh Cakes & Pies) Highly recommend for Breakfast or Lunch! Our waiter Jacob was great!

First time here and will definitely be back! The food was fresh and flavorful. I visited on a Saturday morning and I have no idea why there isn't a line out the door because this place is a hidden gem. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Croissant sandwich was delightful as well. Staff were courteous and prompt. Loved it!

Went with my mom and my sister. Menu had a great variety and the prices were more than fair considering the amount of food you got. Our server Rory was wonderful... always spot on and was great with service. Definitely will go there again...5 STARS!

Small local owned business. Had everything from breakfast to chicken fried steak to catfish. All has been good eating. Can actually hear your companion talk. Low noise issue you see so often.

Was with a large group for lunch. Everyone at the long table (nice because this was better than splitting up the group) had great tasting sandwiches and burgers. Mine seemed home cooked, not typical canned restaurant formula. Waitress was very friendly and efficient. The ambiance was quiet enough so we could all talk and be heard from the ends of the table. I would come back.

Great restaurant! Sidewalk is exactly what it is, a great mom and pop place to eat. The variety provides patrons a good choice and the owners appear to not only want to serve up great taste but nutrition as well. The staff are friendly and work to make things right. Best place ever!

Nothing positive to say about this restaurant. Seated at 12:45p, ordered food by 1:20p, and got food by 1:53p. Extremely slow and server only gave excuses. When food arrived, everything was lackluster. I got the chicken fried steak and it had zero flavor (not even salt). My girlfriend got the Tuscan grilled cheese and they literally didn’t even melt the cheese. Quite literally a cheese sandwich. Restaurant was dirty, old, and outdated everything. With the amount of options in this area, won’t be returning.

Easy parking and easy to find the place. They seem family oriented and have a decent sized menu. It looks like they may have tamales on the weekends but they were out when we last visited. Service was slow and it was hard to find a server to pay. All in all the food was good, they were OK to sub things out from the menu and handled my kids well.

Get the French toast, pay the extra $3 for fresh fruit and whipped cream, and add some super crispy hashbrowns. Our server, Peyton, was also very attentive and the atmosphere was cozy!

Wonderful food, great menu with plenty to offer. Breakfast served all day. I know, iced tea is iced tea, but they have best iced tea I've ever had. Great service & atmosphere. Very quaint. Tables are far enough apart that even when they're full, I can still carry on conversations without having to raise my voice or shout. My wife and I are becoming 'regulars'. I had the Veggie Skillet this time and it was awesome.

I want to start off by saying I have went the sidewalk cafe on multiple occasions and I loved it!! So much so that I wanted to host a birthday brunch there. Now getting accommodation for this place was easy and I loved that the owner Sam really worked with me! THIS IS IMPORTANT!!! Seeing as it was a big party I don’t blame the servers to much and honestly it was most definitely a communication issue with the server… but really almost took me and my party out was HOW RUDEEEE THE FOOD RUNNER WAS!! but my thing is if a staff member is going to be interacting with customers he needs to have some home training!! Or not say anything at all. Our actual servers were so nice!! I loved them so much but that food runner literally almost ruined the whole experience.

We had a late breakfast with French toast and a light one( one egg, one sausage). Awesome as always. Must've been one happy chicken because that scrambled eggs was ginormous. Everything I've had there was great, including their excellent desserts. Time it right to avoid the crowds. Service is spot on. Can't go wrong here.

This place never disappoints. The atmosphere matches the name. It's a nice casual spot for a bite, but the food is always spot on! My dad likes their chicken fried steak a lot, and my husband and I love their salads! The portions are generous, and one of my favorite things to order is the veggie plate because they have great veggie options. 2 of my faves are the fried zucchini and the fried greenbeans. Light and crispy breading, not overcooked. Cool and delicious homemade ranch for dipping. You gotta give this place a try! (OH and everyone is always so nice!)

We visit Denton often to see family but just discovered this place on our way home early one morning. We love breakfast food, so the online menu was appealing. I had classic scrambled eggs, bacon, and sourdough toast, all of which were cooked perfectly. My husband tried the Eggs Benedict, and he enjoyed the whole meal. Our coffee was fresh, and our mugs stayed full. We'll definitely visit again to try other menu items!

The hostess, who I believe may be the owner, was such a sweetheart. She greeted us with a huge smile and made us feel very welcome. The food was good, fresh tasting and filling. Just like we like it! Price was very reasonable and Peyton, our server, was attentive and kind. Best cafe we’ve tried out in the Denton area. Thanks so much!

I was in town for an appointment and this was close by. Really quiet and cute place. Server was attentive without being overbearing. Food was absolutely delicious! Really enjoyed that the vegetables in my skillet still had bite! Definitely will go back!

Been going here for the past year, food is great. But recently started feeling I was being rushed to eat and get out with the waitress and hosts. Not saying it's a racial issue but definitely not the same treatment when my wife and I are seated next to a white couple or family. Sad to say I won't be coming back .

The food was good and honestly fairly quick for a busy Saturday! This was a quick choice on Google Maps. I'm glad we got to go! Close access to get back onto I35 by a service road, especially with traffic I a nice find in Texas! For the prices we paid, it was a lot of food, and I will say more customizable for those who simply don't want a particular side. My husband hates eggs. The waitress was quick to let him know she could substitute it for a list of other things! The crew was all nice and genuinely seemed to enjoy it there!

Had brunch there. Had a very good Turkey sandwich. Others had breakfast items. No complaints. Easy access to Homewood Suites and Holiday Inn Express. Breakfast is served all day.

Food was good once the kitchen got the order right. My friend ordered pork chops and we waited and waited. Finally server came over and told us they only had one pork chop and the kitchen forgot to tell her. Not wanting to wait we accepted the order at a slightly reduced cost and shortly both our orders arrived but the sides were wrong. Wait again and Finally got meals. My order had apparently been sitting under warmer the whole time so had dried out some. Server was very nice, but embarrassed. Manager should have come to table but dumped bad news on server to deliver. Good menu and food was ok but they apparently are either poorly organized or considerably understaffed. They had lots of open seats. We'll try them again. Hopefully this was just an off night.

Food was really good. They really know how to fry there. One of us had fried catfish, another chicken fried steak and another something else, but it was fried. We even had fried green beans. Despite the different textures and batter, everything came out really crunchy and light and not greasy at all. And the portions were huge. Nice place and good service.

I was excited to try this place because of the word of mouth. Unfortunately it was not good. The food was served already cold, potatoes were not completely cooked, the bread was greasy and had a hair. The chicken fried steak was more crust than steak and the gravy is packaged. It was about a 3 out of 10 on my scale. Perhaps I came at a wrong time and the cook was out and they had someone filling in.

We came around 11:30 on a Saturday morning and waited about 30 minutes for a party of 5. The service was pretty slow but the food was really good! Pancakes were huge and fluffy, fruit was fresh and delicious. Don’t come here if you’re in a hurry to eat or be anywhere else, but otherwise it was a good one!

I love this place! I’m a creature of habit and always get the Breakfast Combo #1 and have never been disappointed. Their key lime pie is also delicious! Everyone who works there is so friendly and attentive. Occasionally on the busier days the kitchen can be a little slow, but it’s understandable with how busy it can get. I definitely recommend stopping in!

Loved the staff and the delicious homemade food. They also had French Vanilla coffe creamer, which I prefer. It's a little drive, but so glad we checked it out.

Wasn’t all that impressed with this cafe. It took them over 40 minutes to prepare my takeout order (cup of soup - pictured below), macaroni and cheese side, and green bean side. The place seemed a bit strange when I walked in. No official hostess, and servers running around. Takeout pick up is in the back, and they have no real place for people to stand. Orders are brought out and placed next to the menus on a table (no names called). I arrived 25 minutes after calling in my order and watched a couple who came in ten minutes after me be seated and then served the exact soup I had ordered. Soup was watery and lacked flavor, Mac and cheese was not great, and the green beans also lacked seasoning. Overall, I was really disappointed in the service and the food.

The service was amazing. Very quick and friendly! The food was okay, I ate breakfast, and the way they made their eggs didn't sit well with me. It was nice to try a new place, but I don't think I'll come back it was a little too crowded for my liking (the tables were pretty close to each other and it got pretty hot)
