Went here for my birthday dinner. It was delicious. I had the filet and it was cooked to order and was perfect. We shared the mac n cheese and topped it with shrimp. I would definitely recommend trying it! The mocktail was one the best I've had! The atmosphere was ideal. You could have a conversation and not worry about it being too loud. Our waitress was great and had really good recommendations. I would definitely go here again.

Went for happy hour. Great drinks I thought. Had a well made and refreshing old fashioned and a vodka martini. Asked for the martini extra dirty and they didn't skimp on the olive juice. Food was tasty too, pork tacos are great. Nice staff. Didn't care for the pop music playing, but hey that's just due to my own music snobbery. Will miss Banter and their open mic nights, but this place isn't a bad successor. Give it a whirl.

Had an absolute blast at 940s Kitchen and Cocktails! The cocktail tasters were a stroke of genius – I couldn't get enough of the lavender liquor, spicy boi, and pimm punch. We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday, and the lively atmosphere added to the fun. The fried chicken was a standout – perfectly crispy and flavorful. While the salmon was decent, the creamy mac and cheese stole the show. Cheers to 940s for a memorable night of great food and drinks! 🍹🍗

**Pro tip- Come here for mixed drinks and food, NOT BEER** Clean location with old local framed photos on the wall. Small menu but the food we ordered was great. I think there was more bacon than Brussel sprouts in the brussel sprouts so they were tasty as well was the burger and poutine we tried for the first time. I was in the mood for a cold draught beer but unfortunately the only two options they had for beer on draught were both sold out. The mixed drinks we did have were tasty, just not what we wanted with our meal.

Great food, atmosphere, and service. Dilyan was my. Server this evening and set me up with recommendations and made sure to be attentive and not hover. Pictured are the Pimm's Punch and the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (it can also be grilled) and their soup of the day, Tomato Bisque. A nice gem for Denton to have. Thank you for dinner.

I made a reservation on my favorite app; Open Table (you should go check it out).. when arriving we were seated right away. The host was at the front of the restaurant and we didn’t have to stand around. Seated at the bar, the bartender was extremely attentive and was very knowledgeable when we asked for food recommendations. Amazing dinner and drink experience. The décor was beautifully done and comfortable. The food was so delicious, especially the mushroom ravioli. But the mac & cheese was the bomb 💥!! The flight option made trying various drinks fun, every cocktail was perfectly garnished. Our experience was incredible and we will definitely return!

Food isn't Michelin status, but this place is more about ambiance, catching up with friends, and cocktails. It felt to be a bar with a more extensive menu than most as opposed to a restaurant that serves drinks as well. Would definitely recommend it for its moody atmosphere and awesome staff. However, be sure to go early because they close earlier than expected.

My first time dining at 940's Kitchen and Cocktails in Denton. If you like interior design comprising of exposed brick walls, high ceilings, large, reminiscent black and white framed photos, large framed colorful modern art, and a big cocktail bar to sit and enjoy a drink, please come to this charming place. The menu offers some interesting choices. I recommend ordering the poutine appetizer (french fries, cheese curds, beef au jus (beef sauce), and green scallions. Was delicious! I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. It was good, but could use some seasoning in the crunchy batter outside or perhaps the chicken. This place also offers vegan/vegetarian menu options, as well as mocktails (non-alcoholic beverages). My buddy Byron recommends making a reservation, as I understand this place is a busy hot spot. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Big shout-out to our server Sydney! She was awesome! As always, enjoy!

This was a date night choice, and it was a neat atmosphere. Do not order the grilled chicken salad though. It didn't even look like chicken. It was cold, no grilled marks, and tasted like it was pre-packaged and thawed out. My husband got the fried chicken, green beans and mashed potatoes and that was great. My salad, I hardly ate. Their custom made cocktails were okay - nothing really struck my taste since I dont like ginger beer, but they brought me a few samples before I ordered, which was cool. The poutine was good too. Not exactly like Canada's version, but still good.

Absolutely incredible staff. One of my favorite fall drinks was no longer on the menu & the bar staff was more than willing to create a drink that REALLY hit the spot! Great for brunch, lunch, and dinner.

First time going and absolutely loved everything! Definitely recommend the egg plant fries and the tenderloin grilled cheese with tomato soup! Staff was super friendly and had great service!

Cool atmosphere

I came to this restaurant because it was nearby and the reviews looked great. I made reservations prior to my visit and we were seated right away vs those who had to wait a bit because they were walk-ins. On busy nights, expect for the service to be really slow. After we placed an order for our drinks it took our waiter 15-20mins to come back to place our order. The food did not take long to come out which was great. The food was delicious and I’d definitely eat it again. However, the portion to cost ratio of the food in general was questionable. There were 8 pieces of ravioli, no sauce, and a small piece of toast cut in half for $15? It just looks sad (see pic). Because the food portions were really small, we finished in about 10 minutes. It was a very busy night and our waiter was very busy helping a large party and took 35 minutes for us to reach him to ask for the check. My tips for you if you’d like to come here would be to make reservations because they do get busy and try to come on a less busy night if you’re not in for long waits.

Cool spot to have some good food and drinks. Bartender Mateo was really helpful and informative. Suggested our appetizers and drinks. Everything was delicious. This tequila was super smooth and yummy. Had the Elote and tacos from the happy hour menu and spicy chicken sandwich.

Honestly we couldn't get enough of this place, we had to visit it twice and second time with a group of 8 and it was great! I loved that they had a gluten free menu, solved where to eat while visiting right away. We were blown away with the kind and generous hospitality there. Food was flavorful and filling. When you're in Denton, this is the place to visit!

Went here yesterday with my Bestfriend for lunch and it was our first time there. The atmosphere was a vibe very modern and laid back. Our server was on point the whole time, she recommended some good items off the menu. The assistant head chef (not sure his name) but he took his time with that food!!! It was so good. Definitely recommend this place if your in Denton. We will be coming back for their brunch on either Sat or Sunday!

Had my sister’s bridal shower brunch here with a group of 10 of us and it was a great location! Enjoyed a variety of drinks (including coffee) and several of the food items which were all tasty. Nice environment for hanging out and celebrating together. Definitely be sure to make reservations ahead of time if you want a table for more than 4 people or so. We were able to enjoy the time without being rushed or made to feel that we need to clear out quickly.

Nothing says Brunch like a swarm of fruit flies circling your table while you are trying to eat. The chicken on the Fried Chicken and biscuit sliders was rubbery. The service was below average. Maybe focus a little less on the aesthetics and more on quality.

Been here a few times. One of the best burgers we have had in a while! We just found out they have happy hour and there are some great deals and things that are not on the regular menu. This place is legit! Whiskey/Bourbon prices are great too.

Tried this restaurant out for the first time over the weekend. The atmosphere was great with good lighting and cute booths. Great for a date night. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The squash with the salmon was probably the best I've ever had. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. Will be back again soon!

Oh my. The brunch burger and the braised tenderloin grilled cheese were so good. The bacon jam on the brunch burger added an extra layer to the perfectly seasoned beef and the onion jam on the grilled cheese was perfection. We stopped in after the car show and were not disappointed. The picture doesnt do the food justice but I couldn't wait to eat. Next time, I am going for dinner! :)

This place is an absolute most when visiting the area! So many delicious and creative cocktails and meals at extremely reasonable prices! I had the lavender elixir and it was so refreshing! Hand crafted and garnished for enjoyment! If that wasn’t enough our waitress Sydney was so kind, helpful and very personable! She answered all our questions, helped us with picking drinks and dinner-it was our first time attending, and consistently checked in with us through our our meal! My fiancé and I went with the Nashville chicken sandwich and it was a winner! It’s tough to find quality friendly service while dinning and if you’re wondering if it’ll be an issue here, don’t! All around great atmosphere. Thank you Sydney for making our meal with you wonderful!

Food was great, drinks were really good as well. Menu options offered a nice variety for everyone. The wait staff were well informed about the menu’s food items, and very attentive on our needs. My only complaint was the temperature in the building. It was very hot, the 2 or 3 little ceiling fans did little to help. Everyone was fanning themselves and sweating. Other than that, had a great time. Will probably go again when it’s cooler outside.

When I saw the reviews I knew that was the next date night destination. Mixed drinks were average to decently priced and very good. We had reservations and were originally sat next to some chatty Cathy's and they were nice enough to accommodate a table move. Loved the ambiance and vibe. Our waitress Audrey was nice enough to bring out our dishes split in half when we requested extra plates because we were splitting dishes. When I tell you care and attention to detail. I mean it. Eggplant fries were suprisinglyand pleasantly bigger than what we wereexpecting. The Denton fried chicken was so good but the sides were stars of their own. The mashed potatoes were so unique and the green beans had the best flavor. The kimchi burger and fries were delicious as well. Great experience.

This was a road trip high point. I love the way they craft their cocktails to reflect the season! If you are feeling adventurous, try the gingered beet cocktail- it will surprise you with its balanced fruity flavor. Mak, our server, made a superb wine suggestion to pair with my mushroom ravioli. She was managing the bar and still delivered just in time service with an upbeat attitude. The restaurant space is industrial trendy with vintage prints on the wall and comfy high back booths. The bartender showed great service when I asked for a drink that was not on the menu. The bartender took the challenge at once and performed it very well. Very friendly staff and I would definitely recommend this place for drinks and cocktails. Try the "Black cherry basil mule" for sure!

I deducted one star because the drink was light and many things on the menu were not available. I would rate my drinks taste 5 star, definitely a mismanagement light 2-3 star pour. There are restaurants where the food is so good I skip getting mixed drinks, and drink tea. What I had to eat was excellent.

Made an online reservation for four on an early Friday evening, showed up 15 minutes before our reservation and we were seated immediately. Our waiter was very knowledgeable with both the drink and food menus, and his attentiveness was excellent. The pimento cheese dip is a flavorful yet not overfilling shared appetizer. I really love the local beer selection. For dinner, I ordered the wild mushroom ravioli. The ravioli was cooked to perfection… a little sweet yet zesty and tangy with the beurre blanc. The crunchy and buttery garlic bread added a nice after taste. The restaurant remained relatively quiet throughout our dinner which was nice not to have to shout across the table at our guests. Would definitely recommend to anyone and looking forward to our return trip.

BEYOND incredible food and mocktails. This is on the list of some of the best meals I've ever had in my life. I had the mushroom ravioli and we also got a vegetarian 940 burger with brussel sprouts. Both dishes were out-of-this-world good. The mocktail menu is expansive and our waitress Sydney was able to tell us about each of the flavor profiles. Highly recommend the citrus mule. Definitely coming back!!

The flavors are not expected but pleasing. The portions are fair but the prices are a bit much. Thier downfall is in the service. Although everyone was friendly it took a while to get served and then to get refills or anything else. We asked for a drink and the waiter would forget we asked. I had to get up and walk over to a prep station to get silverware and to the bar for a straw. Overall I wasn't impressed.

Short rib grilled cheese

The first time we tried 940s we were excited, but my husband actually got sick immediately after leaving. We waited a few years to try it again, but was disappointed again. The board the flat bread was on was wet and smelled of dish water. The service was slow, we will not return a 3rd time.

The atmosphere is relaxed but fun (love the neon Denton sign) and the service was excellent. Kaemon was super friendly and informative, and seemed to genuinely love what was on the menu. The eggplant fries were SO good, and the cheesecake was exceptional. We’ll definitely be back!

One of my favorite restaurants. LOVE the eggplant fries, bacon and goat cheese flatbread, and the yummy cocktails. Can't go wrong with gouda mac and cheese or the elote either. Great for date night.

We wanted to try something fun and new for our anniversary! We previewed the menu and were looking forward to what they offered. Tara was our server and she gave us some suggestions to consider. She was very accommodating to our request for water and lemon for our beverage. We ordered three entrees to try and share. 940's Short Rib Mac and Cheese, Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad and Squash Ravioli. It was a busy Saturday night and we waited a reasonable amount of time for our entrees. Each entree was beautifully presented and portioned generously. Our selections did not disappoint! Short Rib Mac and Cheese was warm and creamy with a very tender piece of rib meat topped with fried onions. The Squash Ravioli offered a combination of flavors that made for a nice mouthful to savor. The raviolis were soft and pillowy with a squash filling that did not disappoint although there was one that didn't have any filling. But regardless of that it was still an enjoyable entree. Now the highlight for us was the Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad. Seriously this entree was AWESOME!!! WOW!!! The flavor was so fresh and had a nice crispness to each bite! Goat cheese, apple and chopped candied pecans combined with a honey lemon vinegrette made the thinly sliced brussel sprout salad shine! Oh Mercy it was GOOD!!! So much so that we were already discussing ordering it again on our next visit! And they do offer the option to top it with your choice of chicken, steak, shrimp or salmon. For our first time here we had a wonderful experience and we look forward to returning here soon. FYI: I am not compensated in any way by this business and I gladly pay for any food/services. The grilled cheese sandwich with onion jam (seriously) is amazing! Highly recommend it. Helps if you have a large mouth, though, as the sandwich is bigger than a Yugo!

If you are looking for a great new place for brunch, lunch or dinner in the DFW area ...look no further. This was my second visit to this establishment ... first time for dinner....and you can bet your bottom dollar I will be coming back. This place is definitely worth the drive to Denton. Not only does it have great ambience, outstanding service and amazing cocktails on tab, but it also has a unique menu of delicious dishes you won’t find anywhere else. The Eggplant Fries with Jalapeño Mustard and Avocado Toast we had for appetizers were absolute delicious. I also had their Grapefruit Margarita which was wonderful. I hope they keep it year-round. For the main dish, I had the Salmon with Bacon Fig Chutney and Risotto and my date had their famous Chicken Sandwich with Brussel Sprout Salad and it was hands down the best food we’ve had in a long time. We had no room for dessert but decided to take some “to go” and I’m so glad we did. The cheesecake and chocolate cake were “to die for”...wow. In my experiences, some of the best food comes from hole in the wall places. 940s Kitchen and Cocktails has far exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to go back and try and more delicious items from the plethora of dishes and cocktails on their menu.

Amazing drinks and food here. Eggplant fries and the short rib Mac and cheese, short rib grilled cheese, and their 940 burger are amazing. The old old fashioned is great too. They have people socially distanced and they used this QR code in place of menus. Always a favorite local place to go. I went here for my first date a year and a half ago and we come back here every time there’s someone in town, delicious food for a really good price.

We recently moved to the area from Fort Worth. We have tried many restaurants and 940 is at the TOP of our list. The staff is excellent and always upbeat and welcoming. Kaemon waited on us during our last visit and he was worth the name drop. EXCELLENT service and he was extremely polite and attentive. We would recommend asking for him, however, all the staff is great.

Great Cocktails! I love variety and how they change seasonally. Great appetizers! You can't go wrong with the Crushed Avocado Toast and Pimento Cheese Dip....great grilled buffalo chicken sandwich too!

Had a great family meal. Service a little slow but well worth it. Daughter had veggie sandwich and loved it. Wife had flatbread and was pleased. My steak was perfect and potatoes and green beans were a 10. Glad we chose 940. Would have given 5 stars but that would be perfection.

Went here for my wife's birthday and the drinks were the ONLY redeeming thing here...the food was barely warm and completely tasteless, service was terrible (Tyra was our server), took 30 minutes for the first round of drinks to come out and the person who ordered their drink first got theirs last. I could totally understand if it was busy but it was very slow and Tyra kept disappearing for 10-20 minutes at a time. When our food finally arrived, I asked for a soda and literally had finished my meal and waited 10 minutes until I went for a manager to find out what was going on. The manager was very apologetic which made it a little better but didn't make up for the atrocious service we received. She might return because the drinks were good but she won't he ordering food here again. (Also they were out of burger meat and several other things but didn't feel the need to tell anyone before we were ordering.)

Great brunch and cocktails!

This place is usually excellent. I was not very impressed on my most recent visit though. I don't know if the restaurant was short staffed due to it being a Monday, but the service was noticeably slower than usual. Two of our cocktails were pretty sub-par as well and tasted as if there had been an overpour. The food was terrific (as usual) which was a saving grace.

The short rib Mac and cheese was bland. The beef tenderloin was bland and chewy The Brussels sprouts were amazing. The grits were excellent. I usually don’t pay that kind of money for good sides
