A
little
bit
about
my
situation:
I
have
a
degenerative
disc
disease
that
causes
my
discs
to
pop
out
every
now
and
then.
I
had
3
microdiscectomies
on
my
L5-S1
between
2015
and
2019,
then
one
on
my
L4-L5
in
March
of
2023.
Following
my
surgery,
I
went
to
PT
in
Arvada
to
re-strengthen
my
core
and
increase
mobility.
My
pain
disappeared
so
I
stopped
going
to
PT.
Then
at
the
beginning
of
August
of
2023,
I
moved
closer
to
Denver.
Right
after
I
moved,
I
started
experiencing
sciatic
and
lower
back
pain,
and
I
saw
that
Atlas
Highlands
had
great
reviews
and
was
only
a
few
minute
drive
from
my
new
home.
They
were
able
to
get
me
in
quickly,
and
put
me
on
a
rigorous
schedule
of
2
sessions
per
week.
I
enjoyed
the
friendliness
of
the
staff,
but
within
a
few
visits,
I
noticed
that
they
were
really
only
working
on
me
for
about
10
minutes
before
handing
me
off
to
an
"exercise
specialist"
to
watch
me
while
I
practiced
my
at-home
exercises.
I
did
not
feel
like
I
was
getting
real
care.
Also,
whenever
an
exercise
hurt,
they
told
me
that
it
was
just
because
my
body
was
stiff
and
that
over
time,
I
should
start
to
loosen
up.
After
a
few
weeks,
I
noticed
that
my
per-visit
bill
had
jumped
up
dramatically,
to
$110
per
visit.
PT
is
covered
by
my
health
insurance,
but
when
I
spoke
to
the
person
at
the
front
desk
about
it,
she
told
me
that
the
increase
in
expense
was
actually
a
new
policy
by
my
insurance
company,
and
that
it
would
help
me
reach
my
deductible
more
quickly.
I
asked
"will
this
be
the
pricing
at
any
PT
location
I
go
to?"
She
replied
"Yes,
this
is
a
new
policy
by
your
insurance
provider,
and
it
will
be
$110
at
any
physical
therapy
clinic
you
go
to
until
you
reach
your
deductible."
Silly
me
for
trusting
Atlas
and
not
doing
my
own
research
immediately.
After
a
few
more
weeks
and
shelling
out
hundreds
of
dollars
per
week
for
only
a
few
minutes
of
hands-on
care,
I
decided
to
reach
out
to
my
insurance
company
(Cigna)
to
confirm
what
the
staff
at
Atlas
had
shared
with
me.
To
my
surprise,
Cigna
denied
that
there
was
an
update
to
their
policy,
and
that
any
price
changes
at
PT
were
made
exclusively
by
the
clinic.
Not
only
that,
but
Cigna
had
shared
that
I'd
reached
my
deductible
weeks
ago,
and
that
Atlas
should
only
be
charging
me
the
post-deductible
rate
of
20%.
I
felt
/
feel
ripped
off
and
lied
to
by
Atlas.
I
trusted
them
and
they
abused
my
trust.
They
did
not
give
me
proper
care.
I
decided
to
stop
going
since
they
were
basically
charging
me
to
watch
me
do
the
exercises
I
was
doing
at
home
daily
anyway.
A
few
weeks
ago,
they
called
and
asked
if
I
wanted
to
make
any
new
appointments.
I
shared
this
all
with
them,
said
I
felt
ripped
off
and
that
I
deserved
some
reimbursement
since
I'd
hit
my
deductible.
They
said
"we're
sorry
you
feel
that
way.
We'll
take
you
off
our
call
list"
and
hung
up.
I
have
not
heard
from
them
since.
Long
story
short:
Friendly
staff
who
will
take
exorbitant
amounts
of
your
money
and
offer
hardly
any
care.
Do
not
go
here.
