This
has
been
my
first
renting
experience.
I
chose
it
primarily
because
of
the
price
($1017/mo
for
500sq
ft
studio)
and
the
location.
I
liked
Uptown
when
I
first
started
renting.
The
leasing
agents
seemed
friendly
enough
out
the
gate,
and
the
common
areas
all
seemed
very
nice.
The
problems
started
when
the
fire
alarms
started
going
off
through
all
hours
of
the
night.
They
won't
get
their
system
fixed,
so
the
alarms
go
off
whenever
water
pressure
changes,
or
a
pipe
bursts.
Both
of
which
happen
frequently.
I
was
unable
to
keep
my
cat
with
me
because
she
was
becoming
so
afraid
all
the
time
due
to
the
noise.
And
that
includes
the
outside
noise.
I
knew
living
in
Denver
would
have
more
traffic/city
sounds.
Comes
with
the
territory.
However,
homeless
encampments
cropped
up
surrounding
nearby
parks,
closing
down
sidewalks
across
the
streets,
and
many
homeless
people
would
hang
out
around
our
buildings.
The
security
at
Uptown
Square
did
a
great
job
of
protecting
the
place,
as
I
saw
them
through
all
hour
of
the
night
chasing
people
from
the
dumpsters.
However,
I
was
still
woken
up
more
than
once
by
people
screaming
through
the
streets
and
fighting.
Very
scary.
What
sealed
my
decision
to
leave
this
apartment
building
was
when
pipes
burst
on
the
top
floor
of
late
July
2023.
There
was
reportedly
4
inches
of
water.
And
all
of
that
water
leaked
down
to
the
floors
below,
including
my
apartment.
Thankfully,
it
was
only
my
pantry
affected,
but
others
had
to
move
all
of
their
belongings
(that
weren't
destroyed)
out
and
have
their
apartments
gutted.
As
of
writing
this,
January
2024,
the
drywall
in
my
floor's
hallway
only
just
went
up
a
couple
weeks
ago,
and
they
sprayed
paint
everywhere
(including
the
ground,
so
I
tracked
paint
into
my
place
because
I
couldn't
get
in
any
other
way)...
And
more
pipes
just
burst
so
more
clean
ups
are
on
the
way.
I
talked
to
residents
who
had
these
things
happen
to
them
across
years,
having
all
of
their
belongings
destroyed
due
to
burst
pipes,
and
being
woken
through
all
hours
from
fire
alarms.
No
one
even
goes
outside
or
notices
the
water
damage
anymore,
it's
all
so
common.
If
the
apartments
put
half
the
money
they
spend
on
patches
into
actually
fixing
what
was
wrong,
this
would
be
an
ok
place
to
live.
But
as
of
now,
it's
almost
unlivable
for
me
and
I'm
leaving
because
of
it
after
just
1
year.
Not
everything
was
terrible,
but
most
of
it
was.
So
renters,
take
heed.
