If I could give 0 stars that would be a more fitting rating. I was entertaining a group of people from Germany, they asked to go to a country bar. Having no better country music option in Denver we took them to the Cowboy Lounge. The incredibly disrespectful doorman would not allow my guests in, when I asked for the manager he seemed annoyed but obliged. The manager told me that they don't except foreign ID. When push on why he had no intelligent answer. Every person in my group was over the age of 35 so being of age was not the concern. The Cowboy Lounge should be incredibly embarrassed for making guests in our country feel unwelcome. But after reading the several horrible reviews I should not have been surprised.

This place is the worst. The music is decent but the drink prices are ridiculous - $8 shots of rail tequila? Are you kidding me? The door staff is the worst in the Denver area and are incredibly rude. There is one particular older man who works weekend nights who always seems to be in a terrible mood. Cowboy Lounge has always been a least favorite bar, but last night for New Years confirmed that I’m never going to this bar again. The line wrapped around the building and it was 13 degrees. They didn’t have any tents or heaters to protect people who were wearing clubbing outfits who had purchased tickets and we were forced to stay out in the cold. Once inside, there were wayyyyyy too many people and it was the most uncomfortable night I’ve ever had. The free “champagne toast” was the most disgusting champagne and tasted burnt (how can you do that with wine???) My group left after being there only an hour because it was such a negative experience. After leaving the building, our uber canceled, so we decided to go back inside but the doorman wouldn’t let us back in even after showing proof of tickets we had already bought and we were again stuck outside in the cold with very little clothing. Mind you, this was only 12:30 and not even close to bar close and therefore no reason why we shouldn’t have been let back inside. Bottom line: there are SO many better bars in Denver. Don’t waste a night at this one.

Security kicked out my stone-cold sober friend who wasnt feeling well due to a dinner that didn't agree with him. He hadn't had a drop to drink, and we were basically forced to find another bar. Ended up splitting up our group, and therefore completely derailing our celebration. Bartenders were nice, though.

Not a country place at all. Disorganized and a bunch of dumb people dancing like animals. The guy receiving the money before getting was aggressive with a group that by mistake paid twice and he didn't return the money. I should get out of there when I saw it. Don't expect having real country dancing at this place. I'm new in the city and I hope never return there.

On Sat, Oct. 7 I was at Cowboy Lounge for my bachelorette party. The atmosphere was great and most staff were very kind, except the blonde bartender serving to the left of the stage. One of my friends made a comment to her mentioning that we had been waiting and she served a girl who had just walked up instead. Due to this being the nature of a busy bar, I can understand why the comment may have annoyed the bartender; however, I was standing right next to my friend and she had stated her complaint in a calm manner. The bartender responded very aggressively and started yelling at my friend saying she could leave if she wasn't happy. The bartender put the drink we had ordered on the bar, but since she was yelling at us, my friend said we would just walk to other side and order from the other bartender, and we left the drink. When we walked away, she followed us and yelled, "You need to leave!" She grabbed a bouncer and said we didn't pay for our drink and needed to be kicked out. In response to her yelling at us, I responded, "I will pay for the drink," even though we had not taken it, and my friend said the same. She was not responsive and was very rude. The bouncer brought us to the manager and we explained the situation. He said he would talk with her the next day and that we were fine to stay. It was frustrating to experience such bad customer service on the night of my party.....This being said, the bartender to the right of the stage with short hair was very kind and did a fantastic job! I also appreciated the manager listening to us and hopefully being responsive to the situation.

This place is not a country bar. They played 2 or 3 country songs over the course of a few hours. The majority of the music was rap and hip hop. I asked the DJ to play more country music and he said it was coming up but all he played was rap and hip hop. Definitely avoid this bar if you want to two-step and listen to country. Where I come from, country bars play 20-30 country songs, then 4-5 rap/hip hop songs and then more country. Very disappointing and I will avoid this place as much as I can in the future. ViewHouse down the street played more country songs in the short time I was there. Won't be back.

Kinda hit or miss! I’ve had some great experiences here with very fun times with great upbeat country music and rock, then other nights where the music is not the best. Still always end up here with I’m downtown, hoping for the best lol also I suggest going after 11pm or else it’s super lonely.

Honestly I kinda hate this place. They always charge a cover for guys which sucks and it's gotten more expensive. It's nothing great and not worth the cover. The dancing is fun as long as you like country and are there with a fun group otherwise the atmosphere sucks. It gets really really busy on weekends so make sure you like crowds, sweat, and getting bumped into. I think it's filled with a bunch of d-bags, but sometimes my girlfriends like to go so I will. There are better country bars though I think!

I've been going to Cowboy Lounge for years and always had a good experience but was really disappointed last Saturday night. We had made reservations in August and verified them in October for my friend's 30th birthday party. I worked with the event coordinator to make sure our surprise bday party was ago. All we asked for were enough tables for our group and this was confirmed (via email). When we arrived Saturday night, there were no reserved tables in sight. I went to the bouncer, Jose who said he wasn't aware of any special parties. He then paged a manager (Jamie??). She was incredibly rude, and insisted that I was mistaken--there was no reservation. I offered to show her the emails in my phone to prove that we did have confirmation of reserved tables. The manager was short with us, and did not offer to help in any way. She disappeared. Didn't care. Thankfully one of the bartenders witnessed the whole ordeal and apologized profusely. She was very sweet, and said that the minute some tables opened up she'd help us out with scooting them together so we could still have a spot. In the end it all worked out, but it was just a bummer to be treated so poorly by the manager when it was not our mistake. In addition, I felt kind of embarrassed as I was the "planner" for the event, and my entire group was a little thrown off that we didn't actually have reservations. Like I said, usually its a good experience but the event coordinator obviously dropped the ball and the manager needs to get some customer service skills. Bartender (I wish I knew her name was great).

Ok. But not a great live venue. Told the band that they had to be done by 10pm, even though there were 300 people in attendance. The band had to negotiate and got an extension on the time at about 9:45, but you could see it soured everyone's mood. Also, it's next door to a nightclub that is owned by the same owners. The DJs had their volume so high that we kept having to send people over to ask them to turn it down. There were only a handful of people at the club. You could tell that the cowboy Lounge doesn't have much live music.
