One of my favorite Illegal Petes within Colorado. The vibe and aesthetic is fantastic (10/10). The food is delicious and so satisfying after a night of drinking. Also, for a downtown restaurant, there was quite a bit of space for seating. I will always back for their horchata.

I stumbled in by accident.. So glad I did. I was greeted by a beautiful professional bartender named Lauren. It went all so well from there! Lauren definitely knows how to make the best margaritas. Seriously, she's talented. Awesome atmosphere .. obviously they have fantastic drinks. For the price the food is really good.

Great location with a bar, but the food leaves something to be desired. My burrito bowl had ice cold ingredients and tasted bland.

We loved the set up and casual vibe of the place. You order your food first - they had some Mexican Vegan options!!! Then, they have a full bar, with some great, local beers on tap! Being a former bartender myself, we always sit at the bar...Their happy hour prices are insane! The cooks and bartender were exceptional and extremely helpful! This place was so good, we went to another location in downtown Denver for dinner, the next night and it was just as good - Highly recommend this place! 👍👍

The guys behind the counter were just the best. Friendly, efficient, competent and upbeat/fun. The food was excellent and the prices competitive. Completely enjoyed a late evening casual dinner after a Denver Zoo Lights outing. Well done gentlemen!!

All around great local spot for big burritos, happy hour and people watching on 16th St. Mall, that still retains its original Boulder vibe. Almost always packed at lunch but line moves pretty fast. Love this “new” location with ample outdoor seating across the street from former location.

We went in on a Friday night. It was moderately busy. Go to the food counter to place an order. We got a quesadilla and carnitas tacos and a large queso and chips to split/share. Everything was really good. It's was good a place to get good food and everything is made fast. People were friendly that were working. Inside and outside dining. Bar orders are separate. Advertised as a safe and friendly space and I appreciated that.

I think I miss the old location and the food. I feel the food flavor has changed. People behind counter were super friendly, but I agree with some patrons that the music Volume is out of control when added to patrons who are clueless of their surrounds that talk among themselves as if none else is there… SO LOUD! If you want to feel like you’re in High School Cafeteria again (because of the noisy clueless demographics) this is the perfect spot 😝 Unfortunately, I’ve witnessed people walking in, walk about and leave. I suppose it’s not for everyone…. Tables were ready available but all of them soiled at 3pm.

This place is nice, but I wouldn't suggest the tacos. I got them and sat down to eat and not even 5 minutes the tortilla shell just rips and it's everywhere. The customers service is pretty good. Chipotle is down the street, and I think you probably can get the same quality of food there for cheaper. It's a cool space to be in.

Stumbled upon this by accident, and I'm glad I did. The beer was great and the person at the bar was helping me choose one that fits my taste. The atmosphere was very nice, not too busy, just right.

I've been here a couple times now and each time I've been impressed. The food is SO FRESH and tasty. Exceptionally good guacamole! Very reasonable prices, really great location, and they even have horchata in the soda fountain! Illegal Pete's quickly became a favorite of mine, and I go back every opportunity I get. Take the time to check them out! Even if the line is long, they move people through very quickly and the food is always amazing.

Came for happy hour, which was a great deal. Free chips and salsa, and we got the $5 margs. The margaritas are doubles so great at the price point. Bartender was fun and on a Monday afternoon/evening it was pretty nice and quiet. Would recommend as a happy hour stop in LoDo.

Very tasty fast casual Mexican. Similar style to someplace like Chipotle, more flavorful but slightly smaller portion of a burrito bowl than you would get at Chipotle. Bowl comes with free chips or tortilla on the side which is a plus!

This place gets a thumbs up from me. I still enjoy their burritos, I feel like they've kept the quality of the ingredients up over the years, my fish burrito didn't disappoint. AND the cashier noticed (guessed) that we were headed to a Ball Arena concert and gave us a free beer with each ticket. What a way to make my night! Bartender was helpful trying to get me a draft that was close to my preference. I'll be back for concerts, that's for sure.

Great Steak Burrito $11, just 2 blocks away from Train & Bus...

Went on a business trip to Denver and stumbled upon this place while looking for lunch. The line was insanely long and was well worth it. I had a Mexican coke barbacola burrito and they definitely stuffed it. The meat was juicy and tasty, but what made me write a review is the fact that they mix the burrito ingredients together so you don't get pockets and every bite has every ingredient. To me it's what puts them over Chipotle and other burrito places. Can't go wrong here.

Not from Denver and took a chance on this place. In my honest opinion - this place was alright. I expected more from it! I think there is better Mexican food options around. Overall, I think the food was a little disappointing for the price. The service & queso were good. This place would’ve been 3 stars for me food wise, but since they had rainbow flags I’m raising it to 4!!! 🫶🏻🏳️‍🌈

After years of walking past - usually because the line was so long - I finally decided to hit Illegal Pete's. A pretty good burrito, certainly by Colorado standards. Compared to other similar options, food was better, service was better, and atmosphere better, so yeah, I suppose I'd go back. Still not going to wait 10 minutes plus though for a burrito.
