City park is amazing!! The lake is beautiful and there are so many great walking trails and even a small playground.

This lake always has lots of friendly ducks, and is a lot of fun for younger kids. It's rarely crowded, and a relaxing location. Those ducks come swimming up fast when they see kids throwing pieces of bread into the lake. It's always a bit funny to watch a little kid get close to a protective duck, that ends up squawing and chasing the kid away for about 10 feet. Plenty of fat squirrels around that love peanuts (not salted), and will come very close to be fed, sometimes out of your palm.

This is one of my favorite spots in Denver. City Park is great and this little spot with abundant species of waterfowl and beautiful vegetation is fantastic. The first time I stumbled upon it (after having lived in Denver for 8 months) I thought I had fallen into an old episode of Wild Kingdom from Mutual of Omaha (have to be old like me to get the reference)

The City killed all of the geese and there are no ducks. It used to be lovely. Now too quiet and depressing.

Amazing in April when the cormorants are nesting in this tree! What an incredible sight to see.

This is one of the most amazing places In Denver. When gazed upon at dusk the island in the middle of the lake seems ominous and brooding, but during the day it’s like something out of a fever-dream. It smells pretty bad by this lake. And the geese can be really aggressive. It’s right next to a playground for little kids, and adjacent to the larger lake.
