I
felt
it
really
important
to
share
this
review.
I
was
a
new
patient
and
immediately
had
a
good
impression
of
this
practice.
I
was
told
I
needed
a
deep
cleaning
involving
numbing
my
mouth.
I
had
never
heard
of
this
dramatic
of
an
intervention
before
this
(in
the
past
had
been
told
I
had
gingivitis
vs
level
one
periodontal
disease,
and
had
been
given
a
waterpik
scaling
vs
this
type
of
deep
clean).
I
went
ahead
and
scheduled
the
work
though
because
I
wanted
to
do
the
best
for
my
dental
care.
I
found
it
odd
they
were
taking
blood
pressure
with
an
automatic
wrist
cuff
(these
are
known
by
the
AHA
to
be
inaccurate
and
not
recommended
for
home
monitoring),
but
just
disregarded
it.
Both
times
it
showed
high
blood
pressure
results
for
me
that
just
didn't
match
what
I
get
from
an
experienced
doctor.
Fast
forward
to
my
cleaning
and
the
hygienist
took
my
blood
pressure
with
the
wrist
cuff
in
the
air,
elbow
unsupported,
while
talking
to
me
about
possible
negative
side
effects
of
number
with
epinephrine,
expecting
me
to
talk
&
sign,
my
feet
were
not
flat
on
the
ground
etc.
It
showed
150/100
and
she
denied
my
cleaning.
I
ended
up
going
to
urgent
care,
having
an
extremely
stressful
couple
of
weeks,
only
to
find
out
my
actual
blood
pressure
is
140/70,
which
is
no
justification
to
deny
a
cleaning.
Auto
cuffs
are
not
accurate
for
me
because
of
the
nature
of
my
pulse
(slow).
My
doctor
recommended
I
find
a
new
dentist.
This
experience
was
very
stressful
and
unnecessary
in
my
opinion.
I
recommend
seeing
a
dentist
that
not
only
uses
proper
devices
and
techniques
when
taking
blood
pressure,
but
also
recognizes
and
knows
how
to
take
manual
blood
pressure
for
those
with
slow
or
irregular
pulse
&
larger
arm
size.
Better
hygienist
knowledge
and
bedside
manner
would
also
help.
The
experience
led
me
to
distrust
the
opinions
and
scope
of
work
recommended
by
the
practitioner
overall.
