This place is an absolute hidden gem! Note: They are currently in a “soft launch” and brand new, so for anyone reading this - Their Grand Opening will be in September, so before you review keep in mind there may be some steps along the way for them to ramp up 100% to their Grand Opening! The space and atmosphere is among the best of all coffee shops I have experienced in the Des Moines area. Seating: - Comfortable booth seating - Large tables for groups - Bar style seating for individuals - A cozy space with couch and chairs - Outdoor seating Excellent menu with a wide variety of items. Above and beyond customer service. Looks like room for 50+ people indoor/outdoor, and a downstairs area yet to be revealed. The lighting is perfect: some dim/moody areas as well as some vibrant lit areas. This will be my go-to coffee shop moving forward!

Whenever I go to a new coffee shop, I get my classic coffee order and a special food item. Coffee today was cold brew with toffee nut and soy (I felt like treating myself a little bit) and it was solid. Definitely going to test out their espresso next time as they have lots of flavors to choose from. For food, I got the Rise and Grind, which was also solid. The tomatoes had that nice bit of "snap" that comes from being super fresh and the bagel was tasty (although, this sandwich would be exemplary on an everything bagel...). The strawberries were also super good and fresh. All in all, it came out to about $14 for the sandwich, coffee and tip. This place hits all the notes it's going for. I'll definitely be back to try out some of their menu.

TL;DR - It’s Smokey Row, but corporate. Sure some people like it, but I’ll keep going to local Shops. It’s fine. Arrived about 845am on a Thursday. Ordered a cold brew and a breakfast sandwich. Service was great, but poor barista was up front by herself and rushing as quickly as she could. Food came out quickly. Food is meh, it’s a standard pre made egg patty. The breakfast sandwich is served with potato chips. That’s…a choice. The coffee is okay, nothing stellar. Environment is very corporate trendy coffee shop. Lots of merch, you can sign up for their credit card by scanning a QR, etc.

Perfect spot in the east village for a meeting or to study! High ceilings and comfy chairs mean it’s an awesome spot to sit for awhile! Big negative? No vegan or gluten free options! Hope they come on the menu soon! Grateful for oat milk option - recommend the s’mores latte with oat milk!

Basically Smokey Row but in the East Village. Mainly rating this place high for the atmosphere. Seating, relaxed music on a low volume with no echoing, and long hours make this a great place for meeting, writing, reading, or just relaxing! Drinks are decent. I recommend the Honey Lavender Latte! The food is very meh. I've tried a couple of savory food items and so far have not been impressed. Mac and cheese was the worst - basically creamy fatty sauce on large macaroni noodles. I also tried a breakfast sandwich that was just okay.

New coffee shop still figuring out their kitchen but over a good experience and we will be back. Very cute decor, nice tables, even their simple chair were cute, no boring standard dining plastic chairs here! I cannot stress enough how amazing their tiramisu was, HUGE as well ($7 or so, so solid). I also got a breakfast sandwich that was just so so, standard sausage, egg (didn’t seem fresh, maybe a frozen patty which doesn’t bother me much but I like the option for a runny yolk etc) english muffin, probably wouldn’t get it again. Partner got a bagel and cream cheese, they only have plain bagels (odd) and the cream cheese was just two small things of Philadelphia cream cheese. If it were just a coffee shop I’d not think much of it but for name also being “kitchen” there was room for improvement. The fruit as a side was strawberries and grapes so that was great with me too! The Americano and basic drip coffee were good, no complaints.

There’s great potential for this chain to work in East Village, but the area sets a high bar for morning coffee and pastries. During my visit I didn’t see the lane they were trying to hit here. Is it the arthouse, hipster funky thing? Daisy Chain is already there. Is it the country nostalgia grandma’s kitchen vibe? Scenic Route’s there first. Is it playful, weird, bright and boozy? Breakfast Club beat you to it. There’s nothing below expectations here at Vibrant, but I’ve yet to figure out what they hope to bring that will be compelling in a way that hits the high marks that I love in the neighborhood.

I went out with my friends last week. I forgot to do a review! I love the board games, the lights, and even the seating is comfortable. One of the few places that actually has a lounging area. I would say that Vibrant has that over Smokey Row. I recommend this spot if you ever need it to relax, spend time with friends, and even have a study group.
