πŸ‘πŸ‘ After 41 years My Dads spirit is still with me. I am so grateful for those that made the effort to have this Memorial installed. Someday I will visit and say a prayer for all those affected by this terrible accident. RIP Howard Franklin Keeney.

This area Needs to be Lit up! We went for a stroll right at dusk and almost couldn't find it! If it wasn't for the flashlight on my phone we would have missed it! Families lost loved ones, make it right! I'm just a visitor and I was upset there were no lights surrounding this Memorial! I was also upset to find out it almost took 30 plus years for this Memorial! Was there ever an apology to the families from American Airlines? According to Google? No their wasn't! Take time to fix these things...over 30 years is late however it's better than hearing that on Google!

If people dont know what happended basiclicly a couple of months before there was maintaence for the dc10. Loose engine screw. when taking off the screw broke breaking the engine off damaing some flaps and opening the left wings slats. The pilots crashed the plane way eralier because they were gonna crash into a camper camp... This was the deadliest american crash.

A beautiful memorial. Hopefully, this simple yet powerful monument will allow the souls of the dead to rest. Such a needless tragedy. I thank the city of Des Plaines for commissioning and hosting this memorial. I've read a great deal about it and the crash that inspired it... recommend you visit...

What happened here was a tragedy. However the Park District has done a wonderful job creating a unique memorial to those who lost their lives. If you are unaware of how and what happened with American 191 read up on it and then visit the site.

Beautiful spot located on Toughe and Lee. Part of Lake O Peka, Des Plains Park District. In loving memory of the plane that crashed at O Hare in 76. Part of my favorite park.
