This is definitely the kind of place that has regulars, and I respect that. I felt kind of awkward talking with the bartender but had a great conversation with someone sitting at the bar which helped put me at ease. Kudos to A for being so nice to a complete stranger.

If you love authentic neighborhood bars with interesting history, you will love this place. I was lucky enough to meet the current owner. He told me that the floors and bar are original. The original building was a general store and became a bar in the early 1900's. The corner where the stage is now was once a barber shop. The wall was knocked out and men could get a cut, shave and a drink. Genius! We got some chicken strips, mini tacos, and shrimp. The food was really great. The drinks are strong. I wish I lived closer. You'll love it!

Simply love this place. Never know what to expect when I come here. Sometimes it's very quiet with locals sitting at the bar, other times live jazz and packed house. The service is always great and the drinks are always cold and strong.

This dive bar has been around since 1902. The bartender is quite the character and provides entertaining conversation. Many celebrities have passed through her doors. It is a locals hang out but you will still feel welcome - just unlikely you will get a seat at the bar. A great place to head on a beautiful day and sit in the “backyard”. Play a game of cornhole, Jenga, or just hang out.

Nice little pub. I went for the Beet Street vegan pop up. The food was tasty, what was left of it. But the drinks were well made and not over priced. I'd go again.

Super cool historic bar. Everyone that walked in seemed to be family there and it was pretty comforting for an outsider to see the togetherness. Awesome experience.

We were there specifically for the Corktown Music Festival. The place has a great vibe for a friendly neighborhood bar. The drink prices are reasonable.

There's a crazy family down the street but I don't think they'll bother you guys much..the old lady wobbles when she walks and her brother is a bum...other than that..it's a great bar to have fun at

What's not to love of one of Detroit's oldest bars? Sure you may have stopped in on a booze cruise. Sure you may have come down for the parade. This is one of the few spots left that have yet to adopt to the BS others have succumbed too. Beer and a shot type place with a great backyard. Friendly staff and excellent food. Cut out of work early and have a drink.

Fun place. Nothing fancy. They had live music, which was cool. I'm ambivalent about this bar.

Great live music. The place was packed for the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Quite lively!

So-so. I'd give the Guinness pour a 6/10. And I got harassed by one of the regulars. I could have done without that. I expect that to some extent at a bar as a women (sadly) but doesn't mean I enjoyed it.

If you don't visit this bar whole in Detroit, then you didn't experience Detroit! Best local bar around.

The "oldest party in Detroit" never disappoints! Live music Fridays and Saturdays always makes it that much more fun!

Haven't been to this place in years. It was wonderful to go back. They don't have the live band right now but stated they might return close to fall. The outdoor seating area has been upgraded and it's nice.
