I have been here only a couple of times. The bar is very unique with old signs and memorabilia on the wall. You can sit outside too, where there is a fire and other activities going on. It really does feel like a backyard. As far as the bar itself, the drinks are pretty inexpensive. One thing to keep in mind though is that they do not serve food. Overall, this is a great place that has fun vibes.

I mean, a classic to say the least. Today was clearly a chill Sunday, but the small indoor space I can see getting easily crowded on a live band night. Outside, backyard area an entire different vibe. Spacious, well kept and also has a bar out there. The backyard area is a place you can escape the inside space and odor of possible mold for an outdoor, open experience. Drinks were great and an overall good experience. I appreciate places like this with history and it’s unique style.

So fun. Love this restaurant. Supports the veterans. The proof is on the walls. Look for a swanky Fort Sill patch and Medcom, too. Chilling at the bar with family listening to the jukebox songs you choose to sing along with. Hearing the crack of balls on the pool table. Perfect!

A very unique place! There's a lot going on here. Of course it's a bar/lounge etc. If you're a performer expect to be background music amongst a couple televisions showing the Red Wings or Tigers. Was booked here back in 2014 along with some amazing Detroit artists. Respects to the VFWs.

We love to bring guests from out of town here. Dive bar with so much character. Between the cool outside seating area to unique decor, there is a lot to talk about.

Such a unique place. Old Miami stands for "Missing In Action Michigan". Inside the bar is like your grandma's living room with an entertainment stage. Live music many nights and all types of entertainment. The back yard is amazing and huge. Yes, I said backyard. Actually more of a park at the bar. Lol. If you haven't been, it's a must visit!! Not a place to order craft cocktails but a mixed drink, beer, and a shot is perfect here.

Seriously best dive bar in Detroit. Definitely a must see when visiting Detroit. Bartenders are extremely nice and easy (and fun) to talk to, so tip well, they work hard!!!! Also, go to the outdoor area! The inside is roughly the average size of a dive bar, but don’t be fooled. The outside is a hell of a lot bigger than expected. It is a great place for a first date as well because there are tons of activities to do there, both indoor and outdoor like darts, cornhole, pool, bonfires, swinging seats, etc. P.S. it is a very safe place for the girlies! Some guy was being creepy to me and tried to start a fight and they had him restrained and thrown out in minutes.

Great dive bar. Loved having the backyard area and the live music was great. The bathrooms definitely leave something to be desired though in terms of privacy. Bathroom entrances are wide open and the only thing keeping patrons in the bar area from getting a front seat while you’re doing your business is a flimsy shower curtain in front of a toilet. Would prefer at least a piece of cheap particle board on some hinges with a sliding door lock.

Best bar ever! I've been going a few nights a week for about a year and the people are always so nice. I've made a lot of great memories at the bar and there's many more to come

This might be one of the oldest bars in Detroit, but it severely lacked any modern amenities. It was moldy smelling and the couch I was sitting on had an old bed sheet covering it. For a $10 cover charge and premium prices for drinks, they could at least clean their fountains behind the bar and replace their old furniture. We waited 2 hours for our band to play and there were very few places to sit. It might be a cool place to see a band if you don't mind standing in a hot, small, crowded room for a few hours, but for me, I won't be in a hurry to return.

Came on Santarchy night. There was some guys talking and refusing to play music. The entire place was mad. Good drinks though. I would say avoid if they are doing shows.

The old miami is definitely one of the most unique bars in Detroit. The nostalgia/ music/ military vibe isn't something you'll find anywhere else. Everybody here is very welcoming and I would definitely recommend coming in.

Wow! First time back in 30 years!! This is a bar's bar. They have everything you're looking for. Punk, metal, pool table, AND a marching band!?! It was heaven on earth. If you're wondering where everyone is in Detroit, we'll be be here. Only negative was the pour was a little light. Other than that, chef kiss.

Bartender was on top of it, fast. Cool backyard area. Back bar was closing when I arrived. $5 cover for no apparent reason on a Sunday night is why 4 not 5 stars. No bar, in Detroit of all places has business charging cover for two hours at night on a Sunday, no band or event…..no reason but a grab of $. Still go check it out, nice place to hang out in the city.

This was what i needed when i said "dive bar" this place was jumping on a Friday night with a live band, i didn't at all mind paying the$5 cover charge. Cheap beers and drinks. Pinball, pool, a dancefloor, a patio, plenty of seating.

You walk into Old Miami and think you’re in the basement or garage of some veteran. Absolutely deserves the title dive bar, but not in a bad way. It’s clean and the staff are friendly. Then you go outside and the backyard is gorgeous! On top of this, the customers are also super friendly. I had a couple strangers strike up full blown conversations with me. If you’re in Cass Corridor you have to pop in for a drink.

The venue it's self was amazing, however there was a huge technical problem with the sound equipment all night which caused things to move much slower than it should have and many artists that traveled to perform we're not able to due to this fact.

Great little dive bar with pool and good lighting. Cheap drinks and late night party palace. Friends and foes alike, hand in hand.

This is such a cool spot. This gem is hidden in plain sight. It's tucked away in the Cass Park Historic District. The drink are good, the vibe is chill and the view is great. But the best part is the outside lawn. You would never think upon entering this "dive bar" that is would open up to the amazing lawn sitting area.

This place is unique, it started as a Vietnam Vet's bar but is also a legit neighborhood dive. Make sure you buy a tee shirt.

My favorite bar in the city! Great pool table, immaculate vibes, amazing bartenders. Erin, Sydney, Ray, and everyone who works there rocks my socks. Love the patio in the summertime. There’s always a great conversation awaiting within these doors…

A classic Detroit gem. The patio out back is the perfect spot for outdoor live music, drinks, and good times.

Great little local bar...Ive been going there for years, since before corktown was hip. They used to have a great easter egg hunt out back with little airline bottles in the eggs. Still a regular/ dive bar to stop and have a beer, in the middle of a bunch of hipster bars and trendy clubs.

Great spot to see a live show! One of the last Detroit hip hop institutions. Support local artists, singers bands and businesses. So much rich music history here. Too many legends have blessed these stage. The drinks are moderately priced and the cover is more than reasonable. Come out to The Old Miami and represent.

Cool bar with awesome outside backyard. If you are wondering if you should check it stop wondering and go! You will have a great time. They have live music most nights as well.

Just go to Bronx Bar or 3rd Street so you don’t have to pay $5 each to get in. I’ve tried to stop by multiple times just for a drink on my way to or from other places and it’s not worth the $5 for a dirty dive bar. Edited for additional clarity: at the time of this review, and upon entering the venue, there was no visible or audible entertainment on the stage, or outdoors. It was roughly 1am
