A really great museum in the form of an old world village. There is glass blowing, print pressing, blacksmithing, pottery and so many more shops and things to see. Highly recommended.

Love all of this place but the village is for sure my favorite. So much history to explore and a great place to just take a walk. Nice fresh air and flowers everywhere! They also have train and model T car rides. Highlllyyyyy recommended you going here if in the area.

Super cool place with lots to see and do. They're going for a period correct feel and they did a pretty good job. My only regret is only scheduling one day on our RV trip to visit Greenfield and the Henry Ford Museum. We could have easily spent a day (or more) on each one and not been bored for a second.

Absolutely beautiful and special place! So many amazing sites to see and so many fun rides for people of all ages! Very cool to see the immersive staff and historical sites! This place is a must see!

It is simply a must see. Every year we enter our car for the motor muster. It is simply unique and a step back in time. From period costumes, to the model T’s, and the animals. It is also a huge place, so west your walking shoes. There’s nothing else like this unique place of history. Great for people of all ages.

Absolute Family Fun. Right up front, this is 4 stars because this is an expensive place to visit. Along with admission fee and parking fee, food and souvenirs come at a price. I was hoping to buy a T- shirt, but $32 just isn't logical to my frugal senses. However, we really enjoy both the Greenfield Village and the museum. There is no way you can possibly see everything in the village AND the museum in one day. So, that's why I get the Membership for my family. It's nice to go whenever we want and take our time reading and getting hands-on everywhere we can. And with all the special attractions and events, it's a year around opportunity. Once they make this an affordable place for more families will it be, in my opinion, a 5-star venture.

If you like pioneer villages, well let me tell you, this is the Disney World of pioneer villages! It's so big, we couldn't do it all, will have to return someday. We rode the model t and carousel and train and they were so fun. Almost all the houses were staffed with knowledgeable people to explain stuff and answer questions. We had a frozen custard and it was scrumptious. Loved the crafting demonstrations. All the employees are dressed in period clothing and are so nice. Just a fantastic place. Hope to return someday.

This place is a definite must see! I can not recommend it enough for all those history buffs out there. Most of the buildings are staffed with actors who are very knowledgeable about the history of the village and are eager to share their knowledge with you. Don’t forget to buy tickets for rides on a model t, the train, and the carrousel. Be prepared for a lot of walking. Bring strollers and wagons for the littles.

This is one of my favorite places in Michigan. It’s a must see if you like to know more about Henry Ford and how everything was managed to bring other people from all around the world to help the development process. It is definitely nicer if you go around the time that there are festivals going on so you get to see more. If you live in Michigan and you’re planning to go couple times a year then I’ll recommend you to get a membership otherwise just purchase a daily pass.

Best place in Dearborn! You can bring your family and kids to enjoy the walk between historical buildings and beautiful nature. They close in the Winter but the membership is worth it.

Very cool lots of things to see. Recommend 2 days at village then 2 at museum. Only 2 food places. 1 long wait formal restaurant, 1 cafeteria type restaurants. Family membership w rides is best deal if going more than 1 day.

Absolutely loved it. Total package is a little pricey and food price is pretty ridiculous but we loved it. So much history in one place. Ford purchased and relocated historic homes to those 80 acre lot. Beautiful location with Model T for hire that will give you rides around the town as well as a carousel and a steam train.

Fantastic place to spend a whole day sightseeing and learning. If I could I would keep a full day for the village instead of clubbing it with the museum. In this living history museum there are vintage train rides, vintage cars, houses, and work shops. Wear comfortable clothes as there's a lot of walking that you'll be doing.

Absolutely one of the best things you can do with your family. We recently took my daughters and my nephew ages 13, 11, 8, to both the village and museum. It is definitely worth getting the season pass. Rides and movies will be included for up to a year when you visit. Pass also lets you bring one guest. So much history, and so much to learn here. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Many options for food. We decided to eat at Eagle Tavern. The food is of high quality and reasonably priced. We will be back here several times for the rest of the year. If you're Canadian it's only 20 minutes from the Windsor Detroit border.

We had such a good time here. The family loved the vintage carousel. Friendly, knowledgeable staff in period clothing and vehicles. Homes and offices of influential Americans from days past. My favorite part was the laboratory of Thomas Edison. We didn't have time to see everything; would recommend blocking out several hours to a day for this experience. Well done, Ford.

Can't recommend this place enough. World class museum. Outdoor activities at Greenfield Village are educational and enjoyable. It's great to visit during an off time because it's not as busy, but, Saturdays in the summer have much more interaction at the park - historical baseball games, farmers working, musicians playing, etc. I'd recommend checking the calendar of events for more! Kids play area is great.

I had a blast. So much history is being preserved there. I have not been there in quite some time. I went with a friend and we had a wonderful time. It is a place to be visited many times. One will see things they missed on prior trips.

Are you kidding?! I'd give it 10 stars if I could! Just go here! The Ford museum next door is also a must see! If you're within driving distance, get the year membership with rides, you won't go wrong. Bring some camping chairs so you can watch one of the old fashioned baseball games when in season. Arrive early unless you like to walk. Food can be a little hit or miss, just order wisely and look at someone else's first. And remember, you're still gonna walk a LOT so wear good footwear.

This was a nice piece of the Henry Ford Museum/Theme Park, it is a great place to bring your kids and enjoy a day outside. Teach your kids some great American history, eat ice cream and take them for a ride in a model T. Everyone was so nice and seems like a lot of the staff have a piece of history tied to this place. I would definitely recommend a visit here while in Detroit.

No matter how many times you explore Greenfield Village, you will always find something you haven't seen before. This is such a historic place of Providence, a historic place of prominence, and by far one of the best sights to see in the Metro Detroit area. It is very much like jumping back in time and taking a stroll through history; history which changed the world as we know it forever. The automobile, the light bulb, the phonograph, the creation of the assembly line - it is the pinnacle of innovation driven capitalism; capitalism which is intended to improve the lives of others, not one of greed and lust for power over others, the kind which actually brought progress. My bits of advice for coming here are to make sure you wear sunscreen as it is much larger and much more expansive than you may think, and sunglasses for the train ride as debris from the train's smoke gets in your eyes easily

Great place to spend the day. Cannot see it all in one day. One downside I would say, the trades area was not as big as I remember. Several smaller villages I know of, the have more trades. If there are multiple people entering or you know your going more than once get a membership.

This place is quite enjoyable to all those interested in history. Some of the most fascinating buildings were the homes of famous historical figures, including Henry Ford, the Wright Brothers, and Noah Webster. A large portion of the village is self-guided, but the few employees I encountered were very knowledgeable and made the experience even more fun. Some other things I particularly enjoyed were the 1923 carousel and the last Model T ever made. I highly recommend paying a visit, even during the cold season because the buildings are close together and warm inside. Tip: if you plan to return to the village or go to the Ford museum in the near future, you’ll save a lot by purchasing an annual pass.

Greenfield Village was an amazing experience we went to Greenfield Village but also to the Henry Ford Museum I took my daughter with me who's very much into learning about history and we enjoyed ourselves. All of the exhibits in the museum where really interesting and just seeing the evolution of cars and even the art pieces it was just really a great experience. Even the area that was dealing with black history was super informative I had never seen the actual bus that Rosa Parks was arrested from (and they had that actual bus) great experience for my kids. The Greenfield Village area with people dressed in the clothes that they wore back in during those times was really cool to see the cars that they drove in we rode on the train that was powered by coal... that was a really cool experience. Seeing how certain things were made like the Pottery area or area where they made the pottery and the guide told us about how it was made and what they used to actually decorate the pottery after it's been fired and glazed. Really cool and really good information. We got to see them actually blow glass they showed the actual method in which they used to create glass sculptures and things like that. It was really hot but it was really cool to watch... great experience overall! Definitely want to come back and take nieces and nephews and my other kids with me the next time that I go.

We splurged this year for the Christmas meal at the Eagle Tavern. I highly recommend it. It was a delicious seasonal meal with great entertainment. I'm so glad that we purchased our tickets in October. Holiday Noah's was even better than ever. We were able to to enjoy the Village all night due to the mild weather. Of course a trip is not complete without roasted chestnuts and a cup of cocoa.

Greenfield Village is all about experiencing 1850 life style, they have maintained original duplexes and buildings with little or no modifications. Kids had fun here. 3 to 4 hours are enough to explore the village on a regular Sunday. We had good time at Firestone , get to learn stories from Tom. Volunteers at village are very welcoming and provides detailed information about venues. If you are into ford motors from the village era, you can experience the ride , i personally enjoyed seeing them live on village roads.

We went for the Halloween Event and had a great time, despite a bit of "witchy weather". The kids in the family had a total blast, and the staff were fantastic. Helpful, great with kids, patient, kind. All around super enjoyable.

This place is a must if you're into American history. This 'village' is comprised of several houses moved here by Henry Ford. Most of them belonged or were related to important people he knew personally. Thomas Edison's workshop, Wright Brothers' house, Webster's and many others were moved here and filled with period pieces selected based on thorough research, some chosen by Henry Ford himself. There's also lots of other activites to entertain on the site, such as eating, drinking, children's attractions, traveling in century-old cars, wagons and even a steam train. Many houses have employees inside, dressed up and eager to provide information and tell stories. Overall a treasure of culture very well organised.

3 1/2 Hour trip from home only to find out that most of the village was closed. We were able to ride the train and the old time cars. I feel for the price of admission we should have either been given a partial refund or been given access to the museum as part of what we paid. Will probably not go back.

We went for the Old Car Festival. (1930's and prior) Because of Covid19, the number of people allowed is scaled down and fewer displays are open or active. But there were many vehicles of all types to see---cars, trucks, motorcycles, high wheeled bicycles and other vehicles of all sorts. There were at least 2 groups playing music and street fair type food available for purchase. Overall, it was a very good time.

  • 5/5 Valerie M. 2 years ago on Google
We enjoyed visiting after 50 years away! The beautiful historic buildings are as we remembered. We particularly enjoyed the glass blowing demonstration and the old laboratories.

This was the first time I've ever been to Greenfield Village. My family and I really enjoyed our time there. My kids are ages 1 through 5 and there were plenty of neat things for them to see. We got lucky and were able to see the old car festival the day we went. The train that circles the area was a huge hit with the kids. We got a membership, so we'll defeinitely be back again. We'll also venture over to the museum and theater to check those out.

Greenfield Village is one of the iconic American museums that breathes living history into a wide range of Technological innovations of the past 200 years. The village is a collection of buildings from around the nation that represent various slices of American life from farming to early American industries. Foundries, machine shops, potteries, mills, and even a working farm make up a small portion of what the Village has to offer. Model T rides, early baseball games, and a variety of period eateries are some of the attractions. In September is Old Car festival and in June is Motor Muster, two excellent car shows covering the earliest of the automotive industry to the end of the muscle car era. Greenfield Village has something for every member of the family with a wide range of activities and festivals.

Absolutely amazing! Plan to be here all day...even if you don't think you will. Between the museum and out doors, all day. But so worth it! My battery died during our visit, so only a few photos on my phone.

It was fun. I think it's a bit pricey and there wasn't much reenactment. It was good information and a good history lesson. Kids enjoyed it while being good exercise. Glass blowing was awesome.

just experienced my first ever Holiday nights 2021! The staff was amazing, very informative and scripted well. Great vendors with delicious food, snacks and spiked hot cocoa. I wish there were more light displays but overall a great time and I can't wait to do it again next year!!

  • 5/5 D R E W. 9 months ago on Google
Update: attendeed Motor Muster again and it was impressive as always. So great cars, and as always the docents do such an incredible job of brining history to life. Plus we got to see baby raccoons in the barn. I love this place. Holiday nights especially is the best. Visiting at night gives a whole different vibe, and the staff do such a great job sharing and teaching.

Really nice place to spend a day walking around during nice weather. Lots of historical buildings that are reassembled onsite brick by brick. This includes Henry Ford's childhood house, the Wright brothers' workshop, Edgar Alan Poe's house and much more. Also got to ride around in an original working well-maintained Model-T cars with a chauffeur driving around the park, which is almost 100 years old. Really cool place to check out! The only problem may be finding parking. I'd plan on coming earlier during the day to make sure you get a spot closer to the entrance.

  • 5/5 Melanie C. 1 year ago on Google
What a gem! This is a really neat place to visit. It is pricey, so be forewarned. The rides also cost extra, but there is a carousel, a train, a 1930s bus, and model T car rides. The good is the Taste of History Cafeteria was fairly priced and good.

This place is an historians dream. Ford actually collected significant buildings from history. It's pretty amazing. Be prepared to do a lot of walking. It is very spread out. There are tons of benches to rest on. They do rent electric scooters for those who can't handle the walking.

  • 5/5 John D. 9 months ago on Google

We have visited the village twice now and it is still amazing. Where else can you go and see the home where the Webster American Dictionary was finished, the bike shop where the first airplane was designed and built, and the laboratory where the light bulb was perfected. So much history and American culture in one unique village. Loved it. You can see a full review and video on our blog site. Search for Our Haunted Travels.

Love learning about history and it is an awesome place to learn and see what life was like back then. Henry Ford didn't want us to forget our history. My boys loved it too will definitely go back.
