Anthony Bourdain ate here so we had to. Itโ€™s a total local eatery with a counter. I have never had a coney dog before so I have no comparison but I will say this one was pretty good. The chili tasted homemade and not too salty and the fries came out right out of the fried. Donโ€™t expect warm and fuzzy service but the food was good and worth a try.

I grew up in Southwest Detroit when I was a kid this was one of my go to spots for good grub. They make the best breakfast special , and it's not that expensive. They used to have these double chocolate donuts with chocolate frosting on top, they were the best donuts in the world. when I was there today they said yeah, they don't get those donuts anymore, it's been a while since they've had them. So even though I live on the east side of Detroit now, When I go to to Southwest side of Detroit, because my storage unit is over there. When I hit the storage unit is over there I make sure, and stop At one of my favorite eating spots in this is one of them. I'm 62 and a bit nostalgic.

Very fast service and great tasting coneys! Honestly some of the best chili and coneys I have had. A definite must try if in the area or just looking for a new place to try some coneys or other diner foods.

Had the chilli dogs. Man that chilli was nice and warm to the soul. Got cheese on it. It doesn't require cheese to be honest, the chilli is the show stopper. Was served by a Deezed guy, was really nice. Great coffee. Def will stop by again for a raptors/leafs game when in town. Was here June 2022

This is an iconic family owned spectacular restaurant known for Detroit's famous Coney Island styled chilli dogs. They are one of the few original family (non-franchise) restaurants in Detroit still standing for 100 years (est. 1920), while other businesses shuttered their doors. They have survived world wars and covid lockdowns and shutdowns. Stars like Donald Sutherland ate there while filming "Rosary Murders" along with Anthony Bourdain. Absolutely the best tasting chili dogs in Michigan, if not the planet! NYC and Chicago hot dogs cannot touch Duly's dogs! The restaurant is not too big but always open, 24x7. Highly recommended. You will be in for a Southwestern Detroit treat!

Step Into Nostalgia at Duly's Place Coney Island! Hold onto your time-traveling hats, folks, because Duly's Place Coney Island in SW Detroit is about to take you on a delicious journey back to 1921! This old-fashioned diner, serving up mouthwatering chili dogs, cheese fries, and sandwiches, is a true gem that has stood the test of time. Prepare to be whisked away to the days of yore, where my grandfather and the Irish Community would gather and create memories that have become the stuff of legends. The spirit of the thirties is alive and well at Duly's, and so are the prices! It's like they've got a secret time warp reserved exclusively for affordable dining. I've been a loyal customer of this nostalgic haven since I was knee-high to a grasshopper, and let me tell you, the place hasn't changed a bit. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warmth and friendliness that's as comforting as their classic counter service. And guess what? The legendary Anthony Bourdain himself paid a visit! If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for all of us. Let's talk about the setup of this time capsule diner. Picture a tiny little long hallway with cozy counter seatingโ€”the perfect spot to soak up the atmosphere and indulge in some serious people-watching. No fancy-schmancy menus here; just cast your eyes upon the wall and let your cravings do the talking. It's a culinary treasure hunt where every discovery is a flavor explosion. Now, don't expect any frills or froufrou at Duly's. It's the epitome of simplicity, and that's what makes it so darn charming. The service is brisk and no-nonsense, just like you'd expect from a place that values great food over fancy fluff. But boy, oh boy, does the food deliver! From their mouthwatering chili dogs to their lip-smacking cheese fries, it's a breakfast that will make your taste buds do a happy dance. One of the things I love most about Duly's is the diverse crowd it attracts. People from all walks of life gather here to savor the flavors of the past and create new memories. It's a place where stories are shared, laughter fills the air, and the love for good food brings everyone together. Oh, and here's a handy tip for fellow time travelers: Duly's is open 24 hours a day, so you can satisfy your cravings at any hour. But remember, they only accept cash, adding to the authentic experience and keeping the nostalgia alive. So, if you're searching for a genuine Detroit original that will transport you to a simpler time, look no further than Duly's Place Coney Island. It's a taste of history, a sprinkle of laughter, and a whole lot of deliciousness wrapped into one unforgettable dining experience. Step through those doors and embrace the magic of the past. Your taste buds will thank you!

This place is a well known neighborhood staple. Open 24 hrs for anyone's convenience, this is the place to be. The menu is smaller than most coney islands, but the coneys and chilli stands out. They have little cheese burgers and standard ones. Breakfast here is the best, the French toast owns my children's hearts. The most interesting thing about this restaurant is the variety of ppl you encounter here. From the local yokle, to out of towners,, and occasional celebrities. The experience is always unique to say the least. Hands down for a little old corner place the food is excellent and the prices are reasonable . One of my favorite for sure.

Loved it. Terrific Coney dog. Vibe and decor takes you back to a 1940s diner, probably all original. Nice people, great prices, great food.

I've only been to this restaurant one time but it was quite a good experience. It was open 24 hours and I came in here at like 3am, which was cool. Their food is nothing fancy. It is typical coney food really. But its a great place to go after a night of drinking. Pretty cheap too from what I remember. The atmosphere is pretty cool. The inside is very narrow with seating right at the counter. Keep in mind that this place is cash only. Overall, this place quite good and one of the only non fast food options in the area after hours.

Kind of expected Coney Island hotdogs to be a unique local dish, but they're just chili dogs. Still got a nice friendly experience and dirt cheap food though so can't complain.

Great breakfast in a tiny diner with lots of character. We had eggs, toast, and a huge helping of potatoes. Very tasty!! If we lived closer it would be my favorite breakfast joint!

Old school cool!! My wife and I had to try after reading other reviews. Chili dogs were amazing (the chili recipe is really good) French fries, onion rings, service was impressive and the people there were all friendly and eager to tell us all about the history. Very happy we stopped in. Thank you Duly's!!

Super old school spot. Grab a stool at the counter and order a hot dog with everything, then order another one. The sign outside says 24hr but they closed not long after we left (2pm Saturday) so maybe worth double checking open times before you visit. Itโ€™s cash only, no atm or credit cards. Found plenty of street parking

I loved the old school feel of the diner. The best chili dog I have ever had. I loved the onions and mustard on top. Being from NH I've never had it that way. Glad I found this place

I'm from Los Angeles and was in Detroit for business about 8 years ago and I found this place. The best Coney dogs I've had hands down. A few years ago I went on a road trip with the family and we had to stop by. On the road trip we hit 13 States (including New York) and no one's Coney dogs came close. I plan on being in Detroit this November and this will be the first place I go to.

Little rough side of town but the people were nice food was served fast, cheap, and delicious. I go there all the time they have the best coney, Anthony Bourdain agrees. I personally like the chili and cheese omelet. Comes with toast, hashbrowns, and salad. Try it I think you'll like it.

Iโ€™ve been going here for over 30 years. Itโ€™s always good and the staff is family. Any time I visit Detroit I make it a point to eat here at least once. Breakfast is wonderful and I highly recommend the Loose Burger w/ everything

So much to say about such a small place! I love that this place has remained the same. Thereโ€™s something so comforting about the old fashioned interior, old menu board and the whole atmosphere. The food is always good and the young man with the really nice arms whoโ€™s always working is so nice and helpful. I love how unique and homey it is here. I love that they donโ€™t switch up what they serve and I can always count on the same nostalgic Detroit coney experience.

Anytime I make a trip to Detroit City I can't leave before making at least one trip to Duly's Coney Island. There coney dogs, and chili cheese fries are awesome.
