This is a bike/walking path that goes to Eastern Market and beyond, ending at Warren Ave. There is lots of Urban Art along the path that adds to the already beautiful landscaping. They are also in the process of building a small stage for what I'm guessing to be for performances of some kind but I'm not sure at this moment(I will update as I learn more). Also for those who are concerned about safety, there are security camera with call boxes all along the path and is well light with LED lighting plus its patrolled by DPD as well as a private security company. Which leads me to my next point. All you ever really seem to hear about in the news is the negative things that happen in Detroit but what goes completely unnoticed is how welcoming the people of Detroit actually are. I brought my wife along with me and we walked the path because she had never been because like with most people from the suburbs feels its an unnecessary risk to go outside of the "safe zones" in Detroit like Eastern Market. After some coercion I finally convinced her to go w/ me for a walk on the path. From the second we got on the path to the time we return we were politely greeted by nearly every black male and female and ignored by nearly every white male and female. The attitude my wife started out with had quickly shifted and the uncomfortable feelings she had where lifted by something so simple as a "good morning or hello" I think people have forgotten that a simple hello or good morning goes a long way to bridging the gaps of ignorance. No, my wife is not racist but by definition she is ignorant because of the brainwashing the media delivers to us in the suburbs daily. What does any of that got to do with reviewing this place, you're wondering? Because a short simple walk can sometimes take us much further then we had ever planned that it would. A simple walk can have the power to lift some of the misconception that have been beaten into our heads if your just willing to let go of all the BS. Being a white male I was embarrassed by how self absorbed the other white people we passed along the way where. This is a great place with great people. Enjoy!!

This entire area is absolutely beautiful!! I'm shocked that more people (including myself) don't/didn't know about this place!! The Dequindre Cut is a pathway/trail that you can walk all the way to the RiverFront and enjoy the weather and art that has been left. It has benches to sit and enjoy all things around you, and plenty of room for bikers and walkers :) It's well kept, quiet, and peaceful.

One of my favorite places to skate, I love the vibe of it and how many safety precautions are put in place, very well lit when walking/biking/or skating at night, smooth and large trail that goes about 2 miles.

Ive been walking this in every stage of its development and love everything they continue to do to it. Great place for exercise, or to relax. To be steps away from the busy Easter Market, or the ever popular riverfront, and enjoy the serene quiet walkway.

Great place to walk, run, ride a bike, or take your pet for a walk. It can get busy at times, but the art makes it worth it.
