Okay units, some have odd configurations including the penthouse, not worth the price. Owner has no vision and is only interested in short term benefits. He's planning to tear down a building for 12 measly parking spots that will make the Fort Shelby truly an island surrounded by parking. Who wants to live in place like that?

Disgusting owners who think it's acceptable to demolish historic buildings for parking lots. I will boycott this place.

Owner has publicly announced financial problems and will be tearing down a neighboring historic building for 12 parking spots! 12! Leaving the building surrounded by surface parking lots. Not a place downtown you want to live in. Plus the owner is clearly lacks good business judgment. Go elsewhere!

The owners of this building want to destroy another historical building for a parking lot. Nobody wants to live in a sea of parking Fort Shelby, you will decrease property values and make city residents hate you, stop now.

Lovely historic building but is contrasted within a bleak barren landscape that almost quashed any hope of human progression I had. One plus is that parking is plentiful. In fact, I heard they were tearing down that lousy old building next door for a dozen new PRIMERE parking spaces!!!!!

Our unit and many others frequently smell like marijuana and cigarette smoke. Had to delay giving our son a bath, because his bathroom often smells like marijuana and cigarette smoke. Elevators always smell like marijuana. Even though it’s a non-smoking condo building, the management company does not enforce the rules or properly notify residents that their smoking impacts other people. Fire alarms go off at random times from Hotel Guest smoking inside rooms. On weekends hotel guest are fist fighting outside the property occasionally and often arguing loudly or partying. Many of our great neighbors have left. Parking situation is currently a mess now. The units do have nice views and location is great. Hotel staff is amazing and friendly. Many have become great friends. At this time, I would not recommend this place to a friend or family member.

The units are sizable, the views are great and the location is close enough to downtown while having great parking. The homeowners are still working through issues to make this a premium location. Things like package delivery/storage amd cleaning service need to be worked out with the management company.

Who would want to live around acres of parking? This area of downtown continues to see rampant demolition of historic structures that makes for an empty experience. Look elsewhere.

Rented an apartment here for one year. Here's our pros and cons: Pros: Our unit had amazing views and really great sound insulation between units. Our unit was nicely finished and fresh (finishes vary depending on owner) . The hotel staff was very sweet to us on all counts. Cons: Elevators were a recurrent issue and we experienced stretches of time where we had no elevators at all. Our unit's bathrooms often smelled like weed from someone smoking in another unit. Our unit only had one parking spot for a 3br, and nearby parking averages $260/mo (although our current lot has a waitlist, so make sure you can find somewhere with available spots). The HOA seems to be a bit vindictive-- one renter had a car towed from their spot even though they had informed management that they approved of this other car using their spot). My car was threatened to be towed a few times even though I was parking where I was told by building management. Resident's front desk is not well managed. Maintenance threw out one of my boxes without asking the on-site manager, and there was no accountability for this. Building fire alarm system had issues. False alarms from hotel take a long time to turn off, and one time we had an actual fire which was wrongly declared a false alarm. There was serious water damage to many units in the building as a result, so those with mold sensitivities might want to check to make sure their unit is ok.

Unit 21E has been on the market for two years. I made an offer two years ago, offer was accepted, but I backed out at final inspection due to roof leaks! Caveat Emptor.

Horrible location, surrounded by parking lots. You can pay the same for an apartment in a real city. Don’t waste your money in Parking Lot City (aka Detroit)

😠 Management is terrible. Save your time and money. I placed my money order in their hands and since it was never used on my application I was told I would be getting it back. Well this happened end of August and I have yet to receive my money order! its already the new year! When I went to email them...
