I feel so excited to give this review. The team at Athletico has been truly amazing but I have to say my personal trainer Hillary was the very best. I did not have much hope in my recovery from a torn tendon and 2 surgeries. I was pretty down about my progress from a previous round of PT with another organization(not knocking them, they were good too) but Hillary spent more one-on-one time with me getting to know what worked for me and she pushed me when I needed pushing. She did a great job at always checking in with how I was doing and feeling. I grew to trust what she wanted me to do cause I felt she knew me. I highly recommend Athletico and the whole team!

Athletico is a great all around facility and is highly recommended. It's conveniently located, modern, well equipped and utilizes the most effective techniques. The staff is professional, friendly and very encouraging. I always looked forward to the sessions. My therapist, Nichole, was amazing. Under her care and expertise, surgery for a shoulder injury was avoided. In addition, marked improvement in my mobility was also accomplished. I cannot thank her enough.

I shattered my foot back in June. After 8 surgeries and scheduling my first appointment with Brian, my life started to look better. I have the confidence, strength and ability to walk on a leg that was almost cut off. Brian and Dr. Tardy bring a sense of energy that can only be matched with each other. Nichole, Hannah, Ashley and Tyler, biting a serenity that makes this place same for us normal people. ❤️ I’m glad I chose Atheletico!

Anyone serious about getting healed should at least try this location. Brian is a great physical therapist. I also worked with Hannah and Rob and they are all very knowledgeable and in tuned with their work. After a few months at Athletico Downtown, i'll say the exercises don't feel great but I am seeing improvement after 2 years at a different physical therapy franchise. The whole staff treats every patient great. Also, they make sure people are doing those exercises correctly and are actually improving. These are genuinely cool people to be around and actually care if you are healing

I've been a client at Athletico for the past ten months, and I can't praise them enough. Their attention to detail is remarkable, ensuring every aspect of my thoracic and hip labrum injuries was addressed with precision. What sets Athletico apart is their personalized approach, with Nikki's leadership guiding each session to tailor them to my unique needs and progress. What truly makes Athletico special is the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the entire team of therapists. Despite the challenging rehabilitation journey, their use of dark humor lightens the mood, making each session enjoyable. I couldn't have asked for a better team led by Nikki to guide me through my recovery. Highly recommended!

I severely injured my lower leg in a motorcycle accident in May 2022 (skin graph/rod in leg/multiple fractures). I started PT at this facility in the middle of September 2022. The staff was continuous in their pursuit to mend my injuries. Courteous and professional always, they pushed me to get back to my healthy self by teaching me how to walk, exercise and run again. After 8 months, I began running . My journey culminated by running the Detroit Half Marathon just 15 months after my accident. I'm indebted to the staff at Detroit Downtown. Big shout out to Rob, Tyler, Hannah, Ashley and my personal mentor Bryan. I apologize for missing a few folks! I appreciate ALL of you! Forever grateful for this group of caring, professional, hard working , competent care-givers. You all truly made a HUGE difference and positive impact on my life and my future. Sincerely, Alfred J Biland

Amazing environment with even more amazing therapist. Really take time to get to know you, nothing is rushed, and the place feels like somewhere you know you will improve at. Lots of encouragement and words of affirmation! Highly recommend, feels like a family type atmosphere! Dr. Nikki is THE BEST, along with her staff!!

I went to Athletico for physical therapy related to a knee injury. My first visit was a consultation and I paid my deductible. I completed 5 sessions. Weeks later I received a bill saying I owe for a service while they completed my consult. After consultation we scheduled my appointment times and days. They charged me for a service they had not discussed with me. I wrote and emailed the billing company saying I was charged for a service without my approval. A representative for Athletico in the GM building called and threaten me and she said I better pay. If anyone is planning to complete Rehabilitation with this company make sure they explain and get your permission to provide a service. This company is not truthful. They have shady billing practices. Ask questions or just find another Rehabilitation facility and save yourself the headache. Don't do business with the Athletico in the GM building or downtown facility.

Best place in the city to go for physical therapy. Their customer service is amazing. All trainers are excellent and make sure you get the best training for your injuries. I recommend everyone come here for your physical therapy, you won't regret it.

Rob is such a great person inside out and truly a wonderful therapist. He is honest, listens to your specific needs and always ensured I had the best care possible. The whole team is such a pleasure to be around and always lightened up my mornings. I was nervous about phyisical therapy never having done it before and the amount of pain I was living with. In my weeks at Athletico, Nichole and her team have treated me with so much respect and kindness in my physical therapy journey. I felt supported in ever step and understood what each of my exercises were helping. My pain is now little to none, and I am able to enjoy many activities again thanks to the Athletico team. I can't recommend this location and their team enough!!

If you're in need of PT this staff is very attentive of your needs . I appreciate the fact that they are not treating everyone with the same generic treatment. They definitely treat each patient's specific needs . I have seen major improvements with my condition. Clean establishment , curious staff.

Awesome place to go for physical therapy! Everyone who works at this facility is friendly, and it's a fun atmosphere to be in. I worked primarily with Nichole who is incredibly knowledgable and employed various treatments to help with my knee pain (e.g., resistance bands, cupping, massaging). I graduated from my sessions feeling a lot stronger and confident in my body's capabilities.

Nichole Chakur is the best ever!!!!! The entire staff at the downtown location is amazing. They make you feel like you are part of the family which helped me feel more comfortable after dealing with chronic knee and back pain for so long. Nichole pushed me and gave me the confidence to get back to the actives that I love!!

Nichole, Hannah, Ashley, Tyler, and the staff are awesome. I came in with a hip injury that kept me from playing my sport completely, and they had me healed in 2 months, in time to play at my national tournament. There’s reason and intent behind every exercise, and the explanations they gave helped me understand exactly what we were targeting. They tracked results from start to finish so we could measure the changes over time from when I came in to when I ended. They even gave me recommendations for how to help the team I coach with injury prevention. Top tier.

Wow! I had no idea physical therapy would be so fun!! I learned so much about my body and my wonderful PT, Hillary, was able to answer all of my many many questions. The whole staff was exceptionally friendly and great with scheduling even if I needed to reschedule. So glad I decided to do physical therapy so I can get back out there and do the athletic things I love without fear of injury.

Was told I only needed 4-5 weeks of PT for a proper diagnosis of my progress and my knee’s overall condition to get an MRI. I was also told that my insurance would cover everything. Turns out I was being charged $80 per visit and I would only be there for about an hour every visit. My knee felt worse by week 4 and a few days in and I let them know I couldn’t continue PT because I felt like my knee was only getting worse although I trusted that it was normal to feel the discomfort. I didn’t find out I was being charged until week 4 of my visits and at that point I was disappointed that I was paying so much only to be in more pain. I called my PCP and they said that I was discharged by the PT that I was seeing because I stopped too soon. I felt betrayed and lied to, and that’s to say the least. I was never able to get approved by my insurance to get an MRI because the PT discharged me. Again, I was told 4-5 weeks and I was there twice a week for a little over 4 weeks, and I was discharged for leaving too soon. Extremely disappointed especially because they were actually nice people, but let me down the way they did. Brutal experience. She constantly pushed and pushed the idea of me receiving additional treatments that costed more although I clearly made it clear that I wasn’t interested and it almost seemed as if she would get angry for me not agreeing to pay for the costly voluntary treatments.

Nichole Chakur, who leads this Athletico team in the Renaissance Center, is a terrifically gifted therapist. I have gone to PT before over the years and basically, someone sat with a clipboard while i did exercises. Nichole did a very thorough analysis of my issues -- i needed work after hip replacement surgery changed my gait and alignment. She provided exercises for me to do on my own and then provided hands on therapy on problem areas. It was remarkable. I can walk without pain, I have my own ongoing set of exercises to keep strengthening my hip and glutes and i am walking without pain. HIGHLY recommend. Plus it's easy to park in the deck, they validate parking and it's easy in-and-out of the RenCen.

The whole staff is fantastic. Nichole was knowledgeable and really helped me understand how to improve. I couldn't be happier. I will gladly recommend her and the downtown Athletico team to anyone who is in need of PT!

Nicole is the best! I went to Athletico for the first time 2 years ago for some neck pain, and everyone I worked with was thorough, respectful, and informative. I went back about a month ago for some different neck/shoulder pain. At my assessment, Nicole recommended dry needling. I was nervous, but wouldn't have tried it with anyone else. She answered all of my questions up front, and we were in constant communication during each session. It's certainly not a pain-free therapy, but she has years of experience with it, and was always in tune with how I was responding. I recommend this location 100%, and also dry needling with Nicole.
