One of my favorite places in the entire State of Michigan. There are so many things to do with the kids too. Nature Center, fishing, boating, aquarium and more! If it’s a nice day and you want to tap into nature. This is the place to go.

Is it perfect nope, but detroiter can enjoy a bit of fresh air..

So impressed with the History & beauty of this place!! We explored to our hearts’ content! A marble lighthouse, an aquarium, botanical conservatory, nature center, and gorgeous green space & turquoise blue clear waters. Pretty coves, lakes & bridges along with many historical buildings. Sadly, the conservatory was temporarily closed (renovations being done). I’m looking forward to returning soon, with family & my “big girl camera!” 📸

Belle isle is awesome, I go here all the time. There's a nice beach on the river, a beautiful fountain, great view of both the Windsor and Detroit skylines, sports fields, a small aquarium and conservatory, short hiking paths, food trucks, a recently paved walking/biking path, and very cool architecture from the 1800s. This park really has something for everybody. If visiting Detroit I think this is a must see, even if just for a view of the skylines.

I wasn't expecting much (kind of like my thoughts on Detroit). I was wrong on both. It was scorching hot and I had a pooch with me so I could only explore from the car or be out of the car for a brief time. You do need a state park passport to get in. Luckily I had my relative's car. The views of downtown Detroit were fantastic. Really cool.

If you are in Detroit, you must visit Belle Isle Island and especially the botanical garden. This place is very well taken care and it is in a magical place. There is plenty of parking lot areas. Plan to come more hours to enjoy the outside gardens as well. It was fun to watch Canada with the telescope.
