Very much vintage style hotel with a restaurant. It has been made to the theme "Railway". Food is a bit expensive but comparing with the quality it is reasonable. They offer English food as well as local. Parking spaces is not adequate when it comes to rush hour. Environment is absolutely very well planned and pretty much upto the theme. Even the captain wears a railway uniform. Really nice place to have a chat over coffee. I would give five star if it had adequate parking space.

We loved this restaurant. We had only been in Sri Lanka for a few days and we're still marvelling at the cheapness of everything. We loved the curry and rice. The sizzling chicken was a bit overcooked and not as enjoyable. Stick with what they know best! Rice and curry. I loved exploring this place - museum/lovely quotes. Come here before you set off to Dalhousie

We ate at the restaurant - amazing value, attentative staff, and yummy food! We visited twice - once for lunch and then breakfast. Absolutely huge portions, the staff make sure you have enough to eat and even top up the bowls of curry. Good value too. Clean and open kitchen. Just a few minutes walk from the station. Happy to give vegan options on the curry!

We stepped into this place without knowing and wanted to grab lunch but surprisingly this place amazed us. From outside looks like an old fashioned building in Hatton but once inside you're given a warm welcome by the amazing staff by this restaurant/hotel. Country's first Hatton bank was originated here and now it's renovated to this beautiful place. Food we had was great and it's comfy to hang around or book a room if you want. A must visit building in Hatton.

We found this wonderful restaurant at the heart of Hatton town. Had lunch here about 30 minutes ago with family and friends, it was one of the best we had on our three day trip in the hill country. The servers and food here are just wonderful and have great memories it seems. We tried Kottu, Biriyani, fried rice, Rice and curry and few other dishes, every bite worth for what we paid. Must try!

A high end restaurant with slightly high price tags but definitely worth the money you spend. The building situated next to Hatton railway station has its own historic value being the first branch of Hatton bank (now Hatton national bank) established by English tea farmers. Pleasant well-lit ambience with antique ornaments and friendly staff will lit your mood. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes mainly from European cuisine. The wait is reasonable and the food is tasty. This place offers reasonable accommodation as well.

We stopped here after getting off the train and before heading to dalhousie. The chicken biryani was fantastic!!! We almost wish we had a chance to come back to have it again. The garden salad was nice as well, we find ourselves constantly craving for vegetables that aren't hidden in curries and this satisfies the craving. We also had the chicken kottu which was okay. The portions are quite large, we probably would have been okay between the two of us sharing the biryani and salad. The restaurant was decorated tastefully and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Great cafe with views of the train station! Fantastic owner there to welcome one to Hatton. Delicious kothu to try and iced teas and coffees in a beautiful old building brought back to life. You can go tour the Rozella tea plantation which I recommend with a free ride from here.

Great place and newly renovated. I'd say it was the best curry I've ever had, the biryani rice was perfectly spiced and i was very impressed and satisfied. I couldn't believe how good the food was for the price and lot of people were in there just for the restaurant. Chatted with the chef he was cool and the staff were really great and eager to help. We stayed in the dorms (which we had to ourselves 😎) for a really great price and were happy with all facilities and it was very clean. We were also lucky to meet the owner who was a real gentleman and told us all about the place (he has restored it and it is like a museum or something...such great interior design work you know he is passionate about the project) as we had tea and watched the trains go past. He also has a tea factory that he invited us to tour the next day (just the two of us) which was a special morning with more great people and gave us a new appreciation of tea. The new private rooms at this hotel looked amazing and would be a real treat but they weren't quite ready for guests when we were there in early February. Thanks for your hospitality Gamini and staff 😀

Outstanding meal. We shared the seafood platter and it was sooooo good! Walking distance from the train station - do stop here to eat before leaving town. Fast wifi, friendly staff, clean facilities. Also a very interesting mini-museum with antiques. The building was once a bank; built in the late 1800s and now tastefully renovates. Paid only 9,000 rupees for seafood meal that fed 2 people. Tomato soap was also delicious.

We celebrated Christmas here in the railway Lodge! The food was amazing. Super helpful and good English speaking staff. The old train station atmosphere is lovely and comfy. Luis

This place is a little gem. Had a wonderful vegetable curry served by a very attentive and courteous waiter. The curd and honey that followed was also delicious. Loved the old photos of Hutton and the railway and the little museum.

I made a booking and got confirmation, but still they said that they haven't received any information about my arrival. So ended up with me having to find another place at midnight.
