The best escape room I have been to. Well thought out puzzles, that are engaging and with ranging levels of difficulty. We did it as a family and had one of the best experiences. Some escape rooms come off as tacky and un thought out, this one is authentic and engaging. If there was a 6th star, they would have it.

Really enjoyed our time with a large group with 2 rooms. The mechanics and technology they use for puzzles is very unique compared to the other escape rooms in Auckland. The instructions by the staff was very clear at the beginning and they even gave us overtime to let us try finish the room despite having one group behind. Really appreciate it

A fun way to spend a rainy day. The missing gold room we did was a little dated, with some broken puzzles. In need of an update.

We had 8 in our group and split into 2 teams of 4 doing the outdoor escape quest. It was SO MUCH FUN!! A great way to see the town and learn a bit of history along the way. The AR is very clever and the staff were super friendly. Highly recommend! It was a highlight for everyone in our group

The Murder in the Prince Wales room doesn't take itself too seriously but has a great history/story. Our host, Mitch, was really chill, and made it a great experience.

Had such a blast with our group. We did the ‘Stick up the Pub’ room and absolutely loved it. Highly recommend!!

While the actual escape room was fun, I am basing my rating on some false advertising that I found very frustrating... Firstly, everywhere you look on the website, it states that the rooms are 90 minutes long. However, it turns out that the room is actually only 60 minutes long and they claim "whole experience" is 90 minutes...this includes a quick briefing, taking photos (which you pay additional for) and then as long as there is no group directly after you, and if you don't finish within the time, they will allow you some extra time. This is definitely not the advertised 90 minute room advertised. There are other escape rooms in Takapuna that are actually 90 minutes and had I known that this was only 60 minutes, I would probably have booked with them instead. I also take issue with the fact that on the website, it says "Escape Room photos are included FREE with every game!". After posing for the photos, you are then told you can purchase your photos for an additional fee. Again false advertising! Not impressed.... please advertise what you actually deliver!

Had the most fantastic time. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Had to have a few wee tips to get us through. Room was really well thought out and was challenging. I highly recommend the experience. We will be back for sure.

My partner Jye and I did 3 escapes rooms with Escape Quest on our holiday, and they were all amazing. We did ‘The Prince of Wales’ as well as two at their VR Location and I could not recommend them enough. The stories behind each game were amazing, and the service we were given was fantastic. Massive shout out to Mitch and Ruby for being so kind and funny with our games and having a chat afterwards. If you’re in Queenstown and looking for something to escape the heat or for a date night, I definitely recommend visiting them at either location!!

Awesome. 10/10. My partner and I had a great time here. We did the room set in early colonised NZ, with a gang that ran wild during that time. The puzzles were varied, very creative, well crafted, and kept us looking for different approaches to each puzzle. The person looking after us, Emma I think?, was super lovely. Will come back again and do a different room when I’m back in town.

Very very well done escape rooms. They are challenging, yet achievable and have a variety of typical padlocks to get into as well as touch screen and mag locks too. The staff were also a good laugh. We will be back!

We did the Murder at the Prince of Wales and an outdoor escape room on separate days. The in-room one was great and a good level of challenging. But the outdoor escape room is not really something I’d recommend for adults. Clues were too easy and the storyline was pretty lacking. Next time I’d like to try the VR experience!

The outdoor AR walk was a nice bit of local history, and a good first-thing orientation to where things are in town. Then we went back and did one of the proper rooms, and the puzzles were challenging, well thought out, and thematic. No rooms full of combination locks here! Staff was also extremely helpful and friendly. Weve done a lot of escape rooms all around the world, and this was a good one.

Did a couple of physical escape rooms plus VRs at the other outlet just nearby; puzzles were very well thought out, fun, and definitely engaged my partner and I - if you’re stopping by Queenstown, do give the escape rooms a try!

This place is amazing !! I was able to take my 7month old baby inside while we completed the escape room - the host was awesome guided us through everything & explainned the rooms with such thrill that made us excited !! Will definitely be doing this again when in queenstown. A+++++++ for customer service & great people.

Was an absolutely awesome experiance. It's the first escape room me and my brother have ever done and it was a blast figuring out all the puzzles. The puzzles were logical and everything made sense in the end, and the clues were enough to get us thinking without giving the whole game away. Would highly recommend if you're in town and want to have a fun experience.

Love it !! We have done a couple of escape games, but this one was the most fun. We tried the Murder in the of Prince Wales Hotel 2. The puzzles were not the hardest we played so far, but the room definitely offered a lot more variety of puzzles and mechanisms (not just number on the locks) which made it more fun ! 44$ per person. Great activity for rainy day.
