Welcome to coal capital of India, a city immortalized by movie gangs of wasseypur. The station is very clean, the waiting room is not so clean but ok. Most of the drinking taps are working and provide potable drinking water. There is separate building for booking reservation tickets outside the station building. The station has a bus stop right outside the exit so it makes convenient for passengers. Beware of touts here, grp is very helpful here. Most of the long distance trains are after 8pm to wee hours of morning. There is a prepaid taxi stand outside , plus shared auto stand is also right outside the exit

One of well Know Railway station in Jharkahand, as IIT (Indian School Of Mines) is just a mile away. Railway also supports Coking Coal transportation to various steel plant. You will get all round train from here!

Dhanbad Junction railway station is quite big. There are eight platforms here. There are 2 waiting rooms, one with AC and the other is second class waiting room.There is a lot of crowd at the station here. Some train keeps coming here in 10 minutes. We had come to catch Ranchi Bhagalpur Vananchal. The waiting room was so crowded that we had to sit with sheets.There were many shops here. Some were open like this and some were recognized by IRCTC. Here there was a toilet arrangement in the second class waiting room on the platform, but used to charge a little, instead of ₹ 5, they take ₹ 10. Also the toilet was clean.

The station is clean and very well maintained. Overall infrastructure of this station is a matter of admiration. There are a lot of seats are available in the station for the passengers and a 2nd class waiting room. There is available auto and riksa stand at the entrance of the station for the passengers' communication. Many parts of this station is under construction. But I have disliked the matter that the station is large enough but there is a crisis of toilets in the junction. Railways has to pay its attention on this.

Very clean stations .All facilities and amenities are available at station and easily reachable. You can get rental car ,Auto ,busses for cities like Dhanbad all area Jhariya,sindri,kumardubi, fusbangla, Govindpur etc. Outside the station. And you will get trains for going different states.

Very few taxi /auto available to reach station. Better plan to start 1 hour before departure from your stay to reach railway station. Even from 5 km, it takes 25 min.

I visited the station a number of times before but recently on 25/11/2023 halted here coming from Bokaro Still City to Asansol.

Clean and easy to reach platform 1 but outside too crowded and single road

I have visited first time and it amazed me. I was thinking that it will small but it is very large with seven platform. Accesible of wheelchair, large parking space, neat and clean. I have loved this space. Everything was so systematic. The best thing is SBI & PNB ATM which is just beside the main gate. I had withdraw cash due to shortage of money. Small place with large station and everything was proper managed.
