One of the tourists spot in South Bengal. The river here is quite broad and to the opposite side, lies the Purba Midnapore district. There are quite a few lodges here, but the one that stands out is Hotel Sagarika (now owned by WBTDCL). The small petty stalls along the river banks are the go to place for your quick snacks, and turns out to be a good hangout place with the river view at the backside. It is very pleasant to drive through the riverside road with calmness of the night. Especially, when you could here the high tidal waters crushing the river banks and is quite a charm altogether.

Posting honest review : River side is so good, but the place is not so safe for children, the people around there are not so well mannered and some of them even take marijuana there... Being a girl I found the place a bit of discomfortable as the local guys use to taunt to the strangers as they r a bit uncultured. Most of u may find the ambience not so good, but the natural beauty is so serene ❤ I may sound rude but i spit out the truth.

This is a perfect place of one day Picnic 🧺 , just 2 hours drive from Kolkata . Beautiful wide Ganga ( Hoogly ) river , you love the fresh fish 🐟 dishes on the road side restaurants .

Best place near Kolkata to spend the weekend. Wide angle river view, Hilsa, Mouthwatering sweets all these one can remember in their busy days. 3 kinds of Transport mode available here, rail,bus and ferry. From Sealdah, It'll take only 1hr 50min by train. From Esplanade, Govt. Bus, Private Superfast buses and Luxury buses are available to reach here. Punnyalaxmi, Sagarika and Hotel Girish are the best places to stay. Debur Hotel is the best hotel for lunch and dinner in mid-budget. Thanks for reading my review. I'm local. One of the best place in kolkata to enjoy sunset...only few hours drive from Kolkata...one can have a day trip to the place ,else can opt for staying overnight.. beautiful place to visit with family, friends,loved ones..paradise for bikers..

This place is not for families. Couple are sitting in every corner and doing their things🤣. I wanted to spend some time alone and didn't get any place to sit. I sat down near the parking lot and spent a few moments there but felt uncomfortable so I left. Beautiful place to visit. It is near about 2 and 1/2 hrs journey from kolkata. Here the river Ganga is very wide. Here one can see different type of steamers and fishing activities. Morning and evening view of the river is very beautiful.

Very good place to visit on holiday. It's near about 50-60 km distance from Kolkata. Perfect sunset view point. This place is also famous for picnic spot & fishing market.

It's a very good place. But there are some places that are so dirty and bad smell occurs. The river is beautiful and looks awesome but sides of the river are full of natural and human wastes. That's pretty good place picnic and short travel of 3 to 4 hours.

Diamond Harbour situated on the bank of River Hoogly ( also known as Ganges River). You can sit on the bench here and enjoy the beauty of the setting sun.
