Warm Breakfast very disappointing. Food cold and juices hot. No stock of items on menu. No milkshake ad there is no ice cream, really you have shops across the street. Carpet in Rooms had a smell. Evening turndown in rooms very disappointing and the coffee and tea station not fully stocked. Staff very friendly but definitely needs attention to detail. Very disappointing

Nice place, good food. The carpets will make you sneeze a lot. Some clients might fight or cause commotion, but the hotel won't call the police or sort out such matters. Tight parking spaces.

I enjoyed my stay in Protea Clarens. The room is spacious and very comfortable. The views from each room are amazing! You'll love every waking day! Rooms are kept squeaky clean and the staff is super friendly 💌

Clarens is a small town, a destination in and of itself... The Protea Hotel is right in the middle of the town, conveniently located if you like to walk around and visit all the stores. Or a short drive away from all activities. The views from the windows are amazing, looking out onto the mountains. The pool is small and conveniently placed right by the restaurant, which can be an issue for some. The only odd item for me was the shower in the room. I do prefer a separate bathroom..

Really a lovely stay at Protea in Clarens.. the view is breathtakingly beuatiful, well situated in walking distance from the main square. Short drive out to see the Golden Gate and so much beauty in that area. Definately worth a visit

Protea Hotel Clarens is a gem! Situated in the mountainous eastern Free State, this hotel is a choice place of stay while in Clarens. The rooms are clean and modern, staff is friendly and willing to help. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great stay while in Clarens

It has the most amazing service and staff , no complains at all. Perfect and delicious food ,amazing time we had.
