Nice serene place and pretty drive. Lot of history in this ancient mo monastery. One can spend lot of time studying the artwork. Lot of it painstakingly restored and preserved. We had excellent weather. Which added to the experience.

According to one historical source, the monastery of St. Jovan Bogoslov was built by Emperor Constantine and his mother Jelena, and according to another nobleman Konstantin Dragaš and his wife. However, the most interesting is the myth about Pop Martin and the hidden treasures of Hajduk...

Easy access, the monastry is next to the river Erma, so closed to the border with Bulgaria-about 30km. and the town Dimitrovgrad. The road is awesome, the nature is amazing. There is free parking area. Interesting history, peaceful place, beautiful architecture and frescoes. You can buy interesting symbols and souvenirs from there, also there are hand made products like cheese, bread and dough. They are delicious. There is a good restaurant closed to the monastry.

Maybe the best monastery around Pirot. Monastery is good looking, with somr tradition preserved, and people there were nice. And now the nature around it, that is something you must visit and feel. It is located between two huge rocks like mountains and it has river with all green nature around it. Air is fresh, smell is perfect and it is really peaceful and calm. Definitely i will visit this at spring or summer, i know that it will be even better looking!

Beautiful place !!! Lots of places to enjoy nature. Great tracks for MBT. Parking and restoraunt are just across from the monastery.

Monastery in the Jerma River valley, built in the 14th century. Peace, tranquility and spirituality exude this place. It is an interesting fact that the monastery was never demolished and destroyed by the invaders.

Good place to visit. The road to there is freshly renovated and it is a real pleasure to drive on it, enjoying the beautiful nature around. The Monastery is small, but nice.

If ther were 10🌟 I would give this place 20⭐!!! There are some places that words, pictures and videos can't show in all his beauty that is on the site seen. This Monastery and its sounding is one of those places. This place is to be seen not told.

Wonderful monestary that's completely restored to it's full glory. The surrounding landscape is breathtaking and the church itself has it's original paintings from 1405. Truly an amazing place and definitely a place to visit! Also there is a beautiful restaurant for the tired travelers which in itself is amazing as well!

A must visit place even if you are not a believer - extremely beautiful surroundings, serene nature, easy to reach with a car, excellent roads.
