The restaurant didn't maintain any basic hygiene. The way they presented the food is very good but when I found an insect in the fish curry, I could make out that they have an unhygienic kitchen. When I told them about it, they immediately took away the bowl and didn't allow me to take a photo of the same. The girl sitting in the counter didn't pay any attention or concern to my complaint and also charged the full amount. I strongly recommend not to visit the restaurant as this is my second experience. Earlier, I got a strand of hair in the food.

Quality of Food is good and priority is given to hygienation. Behaviour and Services of Staff is Praiseworthy ..Nobody will be dissatisfied. However, quantity of food is less with regard to their prices.

A nice restaurant for local assamese food. The food is fine and reasonably priced. The items in the thali are of miniscule quantity, but can take a second helping. Small fish fry was excellent and pork item is also fantastic. The place is spacious but service is a laggard. Parking is also available but limited. Overall satisfactory.

Best restaurant for Assamese cuisine. The staff are well behaved. The atmosphere is neat and clean. You will get a lot of unlimited items in simple veg thali.

Though an expensive restaurant in the capital city but it adds a boost to your holiday refreshments... A good depiction of traditional Ahom culture to some extent. Welcomed with Apong in brass utensil, the food served there is less spicy & great in taste. The staff service is very good. One would love to visit the restaurant for quality time with the dear ones.

Amazing food. If you want to experience authentic pork thali this is the place you must go. They give three different types of pork dishes with variety of vegetables. The staff are really welcoming and the ambience is great. Must visit💕

Best place if you're looking for some authentic Assamese thali. Veg thali costs Rs 180 and it's so worth the price. As it comes with a variety of dishes. Loved the kheer, with mild sweetness.

It is situated at Basistha road near beltola bazaar. All types transport communication is available from there. Place is cool and no crowd and parking is available. You can take out, dine in and delivery also. All foods price is reasonable. Staffs are good behavior. Table, chair is clean.

I went to this restaurant everything was so nice and awesome but they lacks services...I had to wait for more than an hour for a single dish(Momo) can you guys even imagine. It was the second time I visited and found the same service. So people if you come to this restaurant then you have to sacrifice the time. I don't recommend people to visit who's very hungry enough or don't have much time to waste. Rest I leave onto your good judgement. Cheers 🥂

The ambience is good but I didn't find the food tasty. I ordered Fish Thali, there were two types of fish one fry and other one was curry. The other veggie items were not upto the exception. The welcome drink was also not good. The quantity was good but quality was poor

Though from guwahati and have heard about Kareng but it was my first time here. We celebrated my daughter's birthday. The ambience was incredibly awesome. Felt like being in upper Assam. The food was really amazing. Superb preparations. The local chicken, fish fry was beyond imagination. The service was good. I would recommend this place to everyone whoever wants to have the taste of Ahom kitchen.

Totally disappointed visiting the restaurant 👎. In search of authentic ahom food i went there but will never visit there again. Food was pathetic, we ordered a duck thali and my friend ordered drums of heaven which was the worst decision ever. The thali cost me around ₹450 which had 3 duck items which was served very cold , 2 dal some salad, mix veg etc but everything was served cold and it was only 8:00pm , taste was horrible i felt the same taste in every duck item . Overall it was a total waste of money and will not suggest anyone to visit there. When i told them about the cold food they provided no compensation, no apologies, no complimentary nothing.

I have never wrote reviews before but it is a severe issue which is why I'm sharing my experience. I ordered a plate of Goroi Fish Pitika from Kareng on Thursday i.e. on 21-09-2023 and I found a fishing hook on the pitika itself. I lodged a complaint to the restaurant as well as Zomato but they are not ready to accept the blunder. I will share the photos of the same. It is not about the refund but the carelessness of the restaurant.

I recently dined at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with the food; the flavors were exquisite and left me wanting more. However, the service was quite average, neither exceptional nor disappointing. The atmosphere fell in the same middle ground—decent, but nothing remarkable. Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re primarily seeking delicious cuisine.

Food was good with less spicy. As it was Sunday and rush hours service was slow. Please avoid going to this place on rainy days as the parking place will be underwater for hours.

Good traditional food. Fast service .. Though mutton items were missing due to rush hour, overall it's a good place for Assamese food

I recently took-out at this restaurant, and the experience was outstanding. The service was impeccable, and the food was a gastronomic delight. Each dish was a perfect fusion of flavors and presented beautifully. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great dining experience with your friends and family.

Our recent visit to Kareng, the Ahom Kitchen, left us with mixed feelings. While the cleanliness and fast delivery were commendable, the overall experience fell short of our expectations. The quality of food, particularly the steam rice, was merely average, and it seemed like it wasn't as fresh as it should have been. The dishes served were okay, but lacked the expected flavors and taste we were hoping for from an Ahom kitchen. On the positive side, the restaurant's cleanliness was impressive, creating a pleasant ambiance. Moreover, the speedy delivery was appreciated. However, for an authentic and satisfying Ahom cuisine experience, improvements in the food quality are essential. We left feeling unsatisfied and unsure if we would visit again in the future.

The ambience is really wonderful & so is the food. What I loved the most other than these two is the hospitality of the staff. Worth every penny. Best wishes to the team.

We went there for Mother's day dinner. Staff were friendly, food tasted just like at home, not spicy at all and less oil. One of rooms to the left with a door did smell like cigarette smoke but it was an enjoyable experience at Kareng.

One of the few traditional Assamese restaurant in Guwahati—Authentic good tasty and pocket friendly food. They keep on serving extra food if one require( but it’s hardly served as the one they served initially are enough).

Quantity and quality of food is good. One plate veg Hakka Noodles is sufficient for two person. Price rs.150/+ GST.

Their fried pork has gone downhill compared to one or two years ago. May be the khorika is good but it is not available whenever we visit the restaurant. Staff behaviour is very good, new management is good but thalis are served cold. Items seem reheated not fresh. Pork is so bad, undercooked. I feel so bad because we use to frequent this establishment so much.

Had a dinner date with my wife and this is one of the best restaurants I have been to in all the places I have ever visited. Not only did we get to eat the authentic Ahom delicacies, but also enjoyed the very best of service! Surprisingly, all this came at a very nominal cost. The service was excellent and the dining in was a memorable experience. I recommend this place if you want to carry back some pleasant memories with you!

People who want to taste Assamese food should definitely visit this place. Beautifully designed interiors with bamboo and a spacious one, the place offers the best of Assamese cuisine and also North Indian food which is also uniquely delicious. The Veg thali is a huge platter of different items which is more than you ask for. The place is clean and is good for family or other groups. The price is a bit on the higher side but it is worth it. A must try to get a taste of Assam.

Given 2 star as staff behaviours are not suitable to customers. Even for water we have to request them after 5-10 minute waiting. Comparison to customer footfall, few staffs available there. But restro need to monitor the behavior of staffs. Otherwise foods are good & tasty.

An excellent place for having ethnic Assamese cuisine. Scores best all round in terms of taste, presentation and ambiance. The platter was fulfilling. The staff offered a pleasant service. Only the taste of payax needs improvement.

Delicious food! They were running low on staff on a Sunday, yet they managed to provide amazing service. We could see each staff giving 200%, despite the stress they remained courteous and friendly. And the food really was scrumptious! Not too spicy and yet flavourful! Loved it
