I'm not sure what to cook! So I went to #fyshwickmarkets for a stroll in the market! The jumbo blueberries in City are always sold out, but I found them here, so I bought two boxes right away. One box of Jumbo blueberries costs $4.9! Additionally, they had a wide variety of tomatoes on display, including a unique one called ox heart/cow heart! However, they were quite expensive. @bili_blu managed to buy gourmet tomatoes for $2.9/kg, which is a better deal. 😹😹 They also had a wide selection of free-range eggs here. Personally, I recommend #Canobolas Free Range Eggs from the Wiffcns stall. The eggs are fresh, the shells are thick, and the egg yolks have a beautiful color! Plus, the price is not too high, $7 for 12 eggs! As for seafood, I don't recommend buying it here. Although they have a variety, the prices are high. It's better to go to Belconnen for that!

This place lives up to its name. From seafood to fruits and vegetables and everything in between, it’s all very fresh. They only open from Thursdays to Sundays. Go early so you can find a park as this place gets packed.

This bustling market offers a wide range of fresh produce, gourmet delights, and specialty items. The market is well-organized and clean, making it easy to navigate through the various stalls. From fruits and vegetables to meat, seafood, and baked goods, there is something to satisfy every palate. The quality of the produce is outstanding, with vendors sourcing their products from local farmers and producers. One of the highlights of visiting Fyshwick Fresh Food Markets is the opportunity to interact with the friendly and knowledgeable stall owners. They are always ready to offer advice, recipe suggestions, and even samples of their products. This personal touch adds to the overall experience and makes shopping here a joy. Aside from fresh produce, the market also has a fantastic range of international foods, spices, cheese, and wine. It's a great place to discover new flavors and ingredients, as well as stock up on pantry essentials. The diversity of offerings ensures that there is something for everyone, whether you're a seasoned chef or a novice cook. The market also hosts various events and food festivals throughout the year, adding an extra element of excitement and entertainment. It's a perfect place to spend a weekend morning, browsing the stalls, enjoying delicious food, and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere. Overall, Fyshwick Fresh Food Markets is a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts in Canberra. With its impressive selection of fresh produce, friendly vendors, and diverse range of offerings, it's no wonder this market has become a local favorite.

A better way to shop! A must visit if you're in the area or visiting from out of town. Albeit a little more expensive for a general shop, it is true however you get what you pay for. The quality of produce that comes in is fantastic, a showcase of local and international ingredients. Very busy on weekends, but gets quiet in the afternoons if crowds are not your thing.

Fyshwick markets are my weekly go-to for fresh produce in Canberra. There is a wide variety of green grocers, butchers, seafood stores, delicatessens , an assortment of cafes and food stalls, and much much more. All the stores offer fresh produce and much better quality than you will find at the major supermarkets. The prices are also comparable to the supermarkets and sometimes much cheaper (especially for the quality). A few recommendations if you want to grab a meal or a drink- try a barista brewed coffee and a pastry at Piccolo, if you’re hungry the kebabs at Turkish Kebab House are massive, the fresh handmade dumplings at MaMa Dumpling are excellent, fresh cooked fish and chips at Ocean Fresh Seafood, try a Pho soup at the Vietnamese bakery (an institution), or a loaded pan style pizza slice at newly opened Colosseum. Also there are a couple of sausage stands if you feel like the classic gourmet snag on a roll. There are always samples as well for those who like to try before they buy. The grocers will normally do you a deal for bulk-buys eg boxes of fruit (just ask). The butchers are also accommodating for special orders. My Local Guide TIP: come in on Sunday afternoon when you can buy heavily discounted perishable items (meats, veg, etc) that they clear before closing for Mon- Wed. Definitely worth a visit if you want to get some quality produce or grab something to eat.

I personally love this market❤️There are alot of shops to choose from; produce are mostly fresh either fruits, vege or sea foods; mostly reasonably priced and special mention the bargains/specials at closing time is awesome too! This is where i find rare produce as well that I cannot easily find elsewhere. That’s why coming to this place is a must to me everyone we drive up NSW/ACT. The only catch is parking —you’ve got to be early especially during holidays or occassion days as it gets full or worse cannot park at all.

All the fresh fish, meat, fruit and veg you need. Plus specialty shops and good RTE food. One of the best wine and spirits purveyors in Canberra are here. A sold 9.5 out of 10 for sure.

Not a big variety of shops. Bakery x2, fruit n veg x3, fresh fish x 2, butchers x 2 , Italian pizzeria, great coffee shop with huge donuts. Looked very nice but didn't buy any.

Absolutely fabulous. A market as one would like it. With a human touch, variety of produce and a whole experince to go with it. On Thu to Sun. Closes by about 5. Food stalls close earlier. Fruits, vegetables, food, coffee, sea food and good butchers too. We even got decent goat meat. There is a big sea food shed on the back side of the market. And a well stocked salvos on the road leading to the market just 100m away. The salvos even has big items in the back and in the basement. Don't miss this market its the whole deal.

My go-to place for fresh fruit, veg, fish and nuts/grains. Good deli's there too plus Asian groceries, Middle Eastern, "health food" , bakeries with delicious sourdough and pastries plus ready made food offerings too...all at different price points...PLUS Plonk, if you're into vino

Great variety of fresh food stores, along with delis and bakeries. Parking on site is crazy. I’d recommend parking on the street and walking in. Plonk bottle shop has a great range of beers.

Amazing selection of food suppliers. From Delis, fresh produce, seafood and butchers, it also offers small boutique retailers and lunch and breakfast options. If you want to avoid the crowds go early in the morning. Only open Thursday to Sunday. Plenty of parking onsite and on the street.

Nice produce considering all the dilemmas surrounding bad weather and covid (that is more down to the farmers than the markets though). The fact they continually have ladies who feign cancer performing/busking at the venue is dodgy....the individual shop owners are friendly and helpful.

not a huge market, but pretty good variety of interesting food and shops. as tourists it was a pretty good alternative to shopping and browsing in a mall.

We had not been to this market before and we were looking for fresh chilli as we wanted to make a batch of sambal. It was redeveloped a few years ago and is now much more than a weekend farmers' market. There are still many stalls offering a wide range of quality fruit, veg, meat, and seafood. In fact, I was told that it has become an upmarket weekend market. I can believe that judging by the number of expensive cars pulling into the car park. But there are now interesting stalls selling a wide variety of food, a wine shop, and an excellent bookshop as well. Most stalls accept credit cards and the disabled should be able to get to most places in the market. It can get pretty busy, especially at weekends, and you may have to park some distance away and walk.

Definitely go the back roads and include this place on your agenda for lunch or dinner. Pub grub with added bonus that publican is a keen fisho so fabulous seafood to be found there. Publican is a very friendly and polite chap, backed up by a good woman to keep an eye on him. Interesting place - lots of memorabilia on the walls and out back - ideal for bike riders or tourists having a look around the area. Ask the publican about the wind turbines nearby..

A superb institution! Great people, and though busy on a Saturday, parking is still possible. Produce prices are okay, but meat was on the dear side. Variety is exceptional, with things like wild rabbits, WA marron, camel sausages (I didn't ahem...hump any of those home), an Asian grocery store (that had a fine array of US snacks), and a shop that sold Turkish food so good it ought to be illegal to not buy from them! Their hummus was just superb. A place to come back to, time, after time, after time...

These markets have been in Fyshwick as l can remember. It is open Thursday to Sunday from 7am to 5:30pm. There is a great variety of shops that includes fruit & vege, meats, cafes & pastries, a pet shop and bottle shop. It has a really nice relaxed atmosphere and plenty of seating in the sun and shade. Most of the fruit and veg are a little higher in price than supermarkets but they are also fresher. There is plenty of free parking inside and around the outside of the markets. There are also some expansions occurring to accommodate more shops. Hopefully they get filled soon! A great coffee shop here is Picollo. They make awesome coffee for a pretty standard price. I recommend checking out these markets if you haven't been.

Nice fresh food market. Have almost all ingredients you need to cook with. Most shops are same as when lived here in Canberra pre-COVID which is great to see they all survived.

Only went to the seafood cafe portion and it was so yummy. I highly recommend the $30 mix. It's super filling so, order at your discretion. Would go again anytime.

Had gone past here on a recent trip to Canberra last month, but unfortunately but not open at the time, will have to stop and have a look on the next visit. It was located in a good location. Easy to get to off a main road.
