5/5 Know It A. 4 years ago on Google
Friends
of
mine
invited
me
to
this
restaurant.
Of
course,
the
first
thing
I
did
was
check
Google
reviews.
Because
there
were
quite
a
few
bad
reviews,
I
asked
myself
why
my
friends
would
go
there?
Don't
they
read?
Are
they
taste
inhibited?
Well,
a
few
things
first:
it's
roomy,
very
clean
and
all
staff
were
extremely
friendly.
We
sat
there
for
hours
talking
and
no
one
hassled
us
to
order
more
or
to
leave.
We
were
the
last
to
leave
and
as
we
continued
to
talk
outside
of
the
restaurant,
the
staff
individually
said
'good
night'
as
they
themselves
went
home.
So,
in
terms
of
friendliness,
they
get
5
stars
plus!
Now
to
the
food:
being
married
to
a
Thai,
having
mixed
children
and
a
place
in
Thailand,
I
can
say
that
my
Panang
curry
was
very
good.
The
best
Panang
curry
is
definitely
in
Cabramatta.
But
in
Canberra,
this
is
by
far
the
BEST
Panang
curry
I've
had
to
date.
When
people
whine
about
taste
and
authenticity,
patrons
don't
understand
that
in
Cabramatta,
for
example,
95%
of
the
clientele
are
Asians,
meaning
that
it
must
be
100%
authentic.
In
Canberra,
where
95%
of
the
clientele
are
white
folks
(taste
inhibited
farangs),
who
will
probably
complain
about
a
pinch
of
pepper
in
their
food,
it
has
to
be
watered
down.
My
curry
was
a
bit
thin.
Then
again,
even
in
Thailand,
depending
on
the
area
you're
in
or
who
taught
the
cook,
you
can
get
Panang
with
100%
coconut
milk/cream
or
a
coconut-water
mix,
with
or
without
fresh
hot
chilies,
with
a
thick
coconut
gravy
or
watery
sauce.
So,
even
compared
to
cuisine
in
Thailand,
Baan
Latsamy
is
pretty
good.
Definitely
the
best
in
Canberra.
If
you
want
a
good
night
out
in
a
clean
and
relaxed
environment
with
decent
prices,
I
can
recommend
Baan
Latsamy
Thai.
