I was on my way home back to Melbourne after a week holidays I Canberra. I wanted to check out Gungahlin Golf course that I could play next time I am back in Canberra. I was recommended this course by my playing partners at another course. Gungarlin Lakes golf course is as good as what I was told. Looked great, and challenging with lots of water and sand traps and challenging sized greens. The proshop staff were awesome, great to chat with and were friendly, helpful happy to assist in any way they can. I recommend a game is a must when in Canberra as green fees are good value. 👍

So it was my first time going here and I must say, You better be aware of how they specify things on their menu - I had gotten myself a Deluxe Burger, but they did not mention or specify that it had beetroot on the burger, They should mention on the menu that it has beetroot, What if someone was allergic to beetroot? Costumers wouldn't just come out the blue and ask if there's no beetroot, that just sounds like a lie, because people ask what they don't want or what they want on meals that mentions everything that comes with the meal, so please, organise and fix the menu properly, this doesn't just mean the Deluxe Burger - Also, For most of you, just double check if there are any hairs in the meal, I know it can make you feel like you're not appreciating that meal, but you don't wanna feel sick, It's just a possibility - The sauces they have make it very hard for people to eat the meal, depending if it is a burger - It can make other's feel very full meaning otherwise the costumer can not complete and finish the meal the chief's have made for them, feels like they just wasted their time cooking it if they're going to make it very sloppy and difficult. Just to clear things up, these mistakes can be updated or changed perfectly fixed in the future, so please come back to Lakes Golf and see if there's anything new about the statements I have made. We absolutely love coming here. We are locals and regulars and this is solely down to the great service, staff and lovely view. Food was as would expect in a club, was delicious but nothing to really write home about. Cold beers, great service, lovely view. Can't ask for much more.

Is a good family friendly place to go to. Food is good, atmosphere is noisy but expected given the size and how busy it is. However, service has always been good and I love going there for celebrations for a good time.

From reception to the bar coffee and to the girls taking my order to the waiters picking up our plates. 5 🌟. Thank you. We will definitely come again. I've been hanging to go to your club especially after seeing the ads on telly. But my partner went there last night with his kids. Service was appalling. Meals weren't served at the same time. And the smug young man behind the bar poured Pepsi Instead instead of coke and knew it. Now my partner won't go there again

Consistently disappointing. Used to be our favourite spot, but since they renovated and changed their menu the food has not had much flavour. The last 3 times have been underwhelming, especially for the price.

Went to gungahlin lakes last night for the first time to be awfully disappointed. Firstly, it’s $25 for a dozen wings - no problem for good quality chicken and great flavour. However, none of the wings were even close to average size. Terrible quality chicken. Next we had mini burgers, they were okay, nothing to rave or cry about. Lastly, a bowl of chips, hard to get wrong, right? Clearly they had been cooked in old oil, even they tasted atrocious. I accompanied my meal with a lemon lime bitters and vodka - it was so wrong I couldn’t stomach more than a sip of it. Only saving grace is the wonderful door staff - they need a raise!!

I was at the Gungahlin Lakes Club for some training over several days. I truly appreciated that they accommodated my dietary needs easily. The staff were pleasant and services clean. Can definitely recommend coming here.

The course is more water than land. Best hit it straight and short. Clubhouse sells numbered sandwiches. Asian influence. Tasted ok though.

We're so glad they brought back the Thursday rump steak special. The renovations are wonderful - so much more modern and clean looking. I've only ever had one bad meal here, and it was years ago. No matter what we order, we're never disappointed. Great for families and smaller parties.

Its casual and relaxed. The service is friendly. Meals come out quickly and are good value.

Pretty good local club. Plenty of parking, nicely renovated venue. Beautiful outlook onto the golf course. The dining room has a good menu. My favorite is vegetarian pizza. The bar selection is average. Unfortunately I find the service quite average - strange, considering there is always a good compliment of staff available.

I've only been to the restaurant (many times) so my rating is only for this part of the club. Great service, very nice layout surrounded by lots of natural light. Yum, reasonably priced and traditional club food. Great place for kids and prams. Plenty of space, food comes out pretty quick too. Heaps of high chairs available as well.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Beautifully planned facility. Every inch of the place is neat, modern and clean. Meals were great. The sweet potato chips are outstanding. Hard to imagine a better club.

Went for pizza night with husband. The staff didn’t even know that Tuesday pizza night for $15 is ongoing. He bluntly told us no such thing. And he charged us the chicken wings with a wrong price. When the colleague told him eventually he didn’t even apologized. What happen at this place now. Customer service has gone down to the drain. To add the disappointment the pizza is tasteless and took forever to be ready so we had to go and check ourself. So disappointing. Never go back unless they upgrade the quality

Beautiful views of the golf course, great Cafe and restaurant

Delicious food, everything was perfect - chips tasted so yummy and fresh compared to other places, salad is nicely made, and chicken schnitzel with the Swiss cheese I think it was - yummmm! and great vibe to come enjoy with the family. Also a great place where you can move into the next section after dinner where the cafe is and order a coffee and enjoy a nice view.

We had a family/friends group of 30 for a birthday party. Everything was perfect, from Isaiah who took our booking to the staff who found our daughter’s misplaced jacket. The food was exceptionally good and the service was perfect. The views were possibly the best in Canberra! A wonderful evening, thanks to all the staff who made it so!

Great view & food

Food was well presented, affordable and enjoyable. A little coolish (food) but otherwise very tasty and medium to generous portions. Wine was great too. Window seat or booths available if booked, good views over the golf course. Very enjoyable experience, staff friendly and accommodating. Plenty of restaurant seating. Kid friendly too. Restaurant is not cramped.

Main dishes were delivered promptly, great! But the it took a long time to be served the focaccia. We booked a table for 5 but were given a table for 4, fortunately we could swap with the adjacent table. We would certainly like a range of tasty healthy/vegetarian options, but as you can from below, that wasn't the case. We also had one voucher (won at trivia) that said expired on 12/22 but it had already expired when another such voucher was valid. The manager eventually sorted it out.

Our favourite club. Recently we had two fantastic nights there, four days apart. My son's 18th birthday and father's day. We have been coming for many years and seen great changes and updates to the dining room. The food was always great and seems to get better. The staff are always fantastic and friendly. Shout out to the restaurant manager, Yad, who is always lovely and helpful. His lovely professional attitude creates an amazing culture down through all the restaurant staff.

My partner and I had a wonderful Saturday night dinner. The food was great, we had a window seat overlooking the lake and the service was second to none. Absolutely satisfied. The barramundi with the pineapple chilli salsa was excellent!

We've just moved to the area and thought we'd give the club bistro a try. The chicken wings were huge - we were expecting the wingets rather than full wings so had way too many! My husband's lamb shank was quite nice but my scotch fillet was very, very overcooked. I asked for medium rare, it was medium well, or really more well done. Unfortunately it was dry and not all that nice so I left half of it on the plate... unfortunate given what it cost and the fact that I was starving! We also found it very noisy although it was Friday night and we were seated in the bar area because the restaurant was full. We will give it another try but I'll know to steer well clear of their steaks.

Excellent meals. Tremendous staff. After the meal I suffered a TIA. I have no memory of what happend next. My wife called 000 and informed the manager. Staff went out of their way to help her and make sure that the ambulance was able to do their job. Yes the meals were good but from what my wife tells me staff were over the top. Could not say enough about the club.

This has been a long overdue review. We usually have a good time at this place, the food and portion size are good and the ambiance is nice. But I found out last April 30th that this place is not as kid- friendly as we thought. We had several issues with a floor manager with regards to kids. We are a group of 2 families with kids and the younger one’s are aged 6 and 1 ½ yr old. Whilst waiting for the main restaurant to open we passed our time at the games room. As anyone with a kid especially those that has just started to walk, they like to wonder around of course this is supervised as they are prone to accidents themselves. 1st the younger ones were checking out the place just wondering around, the restaurant is not cordon off especially from the games room, they went to check the view and was running back (Note that the 1 ½ yr old can’t run around that fast whilst the 6yr old was trying to assist him not to trip) to the games room this happened maybe twice (different set of parents supervising) and we were told off by the floor manager twice (she said she told us off “politely” but it was in a very passive aggressive tone). 2nd , this time near the games room area - the 1 ½ yr old picked up a ball from the games room and went out the door. We were 2 adults waiting outside on the dining tables and we were immediately told off again. Noting the kid wasn’t running at all and is easily within reach. This floor manager told us off again with a very passive aggressive tone. We think she deliberately passed by that area and was really checking on us to tell us off again! Finally, told my husband of what has occurred. He agreed that it felt like we were being targeted. Next thing you know the floor manager was hanging around the pizza area again just staring at the group that is when my husband felt he had to confront her to understand why we were being picked on. Our kids are not rowdy kids and our guest’s kid is a 1 ½ yr old how can she think or seem to feel that they are causing disturbance. After the discussion with the floor manager, she said that we are not being picked on and she didn’t talk to us with an attitude and left. But while leaving she kept on muttering that she was not giving us an attitude and that we are the one's raising our voice and we told her who would not raise their voice if she has that kind of bossy and racist attitude. For a person in the F&B/hospitality business I don’t think she deserved to be there. Nothing courteous or gracious came out from this person.

I was very impressed by the Christmas lunch. We had a 3 course meal and a free drink. There were lollies and a child's crayon kit plus crackers. I liked the festive but low-key atmosphere. It was the most relaxed Christmas I've had in ages - no muss, no fuss. The venue was large but not overcrowded with an outlook of the golf course and lake. I'd definitely choose this club again. I treated my family and found it a good price compared to a lot of other places I looked at. I'd highly recommend the earlier time slot as it was all paced really well. Thank you and to the friendly staff on hand.

We've come a few times, mostly for the Tuesday night specials (Kids eat free aka order 1 main, get 1 kids meal free), which are great for families, as you can tell from the crowd. Can't beat the value as you get a free drink and soft serve (so creamy and rich!) with the kids meal too! Food quality isn't anything to rave about but definitely fills you up. The clean and tidy environment plus the lovely view out the window are extra bonuses that keep us coming back.

I will no longer be attending your club in the near future. I had a table of 8 and bought drinks and food. Costing me $300. Thought nothing of it until I read my bill where one of my friends had a Porterhouse steak 300mg with salad and chips and the cost $35 dollars. His salad was pathetic and not fresh. Other prices were not reasonable and the drinks were expensive. I will not be attending the Lakes until prices are reduced. Today I bought 2 porterhouse steaks at Woolworths for $14 and they were 400mg and thicker. It is a disgrace that your charges were extreme to say the least. I realise you have staff to pay and other factors but other clubs in Gungahlin have a more reasonable charge. I had the Ceaser Salad that was reasonable price but no good. Had it with chicken and only 4-5 pieces of chicken in it. With drinks it which were expensive it cost me around $300 for the night food being 222.80

Lovely meal! Lots of choices. Prepared and presented nicely, and served in a timely fashion. Sadly, signing in (to the Lakes club) an elderly non-member was not a nice experience. Refused entry initially until the duty manager sorted everything out. I feel that if the person had thought, hmm we have a problem here, how can we fix this? instead of outrightly refusing an elderly person entry with their (member) family, it could have been a better experience. I hope learning was done.

Will not go back place has gone to the pack waited 10 mins for a beer then have my table taken while was waiting had my hat n coat on left and went to east lakes club

Family of 5 like to get and eat meals together not in stages. Still wondering what "O lay" sauce is. Oil of olay or cafe au lait? Otherwise food ok, nothing to rave about.

No ice for drinks at all. No taxis ....unless you wait 2 hours and staff get to go home before you do.

The golf course is big, however the golf carts are full of spider webs over all pretty good course 4 stars, the resturaunt is really good, with kids play area and a gaming room, the food is good with a bar that serves soft drinks and alchohol

I wish that one of the Tv also have the A league, football on, around 7:00 pm every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Thanks.

Thank you for the excellent service. We were here for a wake, and there are normally issues for my brother as he is vegan. However one mention to the staff if there was more food available, and straight away more came out. Also, it was delicious, which is not always the case for vegan food.
