Casa Sucre Coffeehouse

Cafe

👍👍 Amazing! Strongest espresso I’ve ever had but great flavor. Empanadas were good. Staff was bilingual and very helpful. They have a restroom. Right in casco viejo and a great place to stop for lunch or coffee, especially when it’s hot and you need some ac. People often mention coffee, staff, nice, good, service, Geisha, great, atmosphere, delicious, recommend,

Coffee house and cafe that's open when many places aren't. Great service, affordable prices, cool atmosphere with lots of old 'found articles' and furniture. A wide variety of coffee styles, including Geisha and Kuna slow-drip. Lots of sandwich choices and delicious traditional banana leaf-wrapped tamales. A must-visit in Casco Viejo.

Experienced the geisha coffee and it was very unique. Prepared freshly in front of us and it had a tea like taste.

The service varies depending on if you get the owner or a worker. Owner has wonderful service! Good coffee at expected Casco prices. A nice place to work but limited outlets. Try the the geshia coffee with a few others here. Worth the $9.

Tasty coffee, nice atmosphere and attention from the employees. I wish our coffee servings were more generous though.

Very nice, colonial, brick, antique, old style coffee shop. The AC is nice and cool inside. They have a variety of drinks and a friendly demeanor. I ordered the matcha latte cold and it was very smooth. No lumps and not too sweet either. Good job! The wifi was strong and reliable and again the atmosphere was pleasant. Highly recommend this coffee shop if in the area!

I had the best cappuccino of my trip here! Very cool place with delicious coffees. Didn’t try the food but the menu looked good. It’s open fairly early so nice for travelers who are up and about early.

Comfortable, friendly cafe. The geisha coffee is not to be missed. And the staff wonderful and outgoing. Amazing fruit plate. We’ll keep coming back.

I stopped in Casa Sucre twice during my visit to Panama. The atmosphere was relaxed and the owners were very friendly and sociable. Also I really enjoyed the lattés they made for me during both visits.

We dropped in mid morning to grab a coffee and a bite to eat. We had to try the Geisha coffee and it didn't disappoint, the extra experience from the server who was very knowledgeable about the coffee and gave tasting notes. The food was good, empanadas and bagels, you can't go wrong, and the setting itself, it's a great little setup, very nice.

Great place to stop for a latte after much walking and exploring. Enjoyed a lovely coffee with a delicious lemon tart!! SO good!

Really nice venue, the manager was amazing! He made our Geisha coffee in a Chemex and explained in detail where this coffee came from and why it's so revered. It was an excellent experience! I would definitely recommend!

The location on the google maps is wrong. it is exactly on the opposite side. Casa Sucre is a very nice, cozy coffee house with very friendly staff. A coffee and a muffin for $6.26 is a fair and good deal.

Had breakfast here 1 morning - and wish we had found it earlier! Very reasonably priced for the area, and their bagels were wonderful. Lovely owners / staff who we spoke to at length about Panama in general they gave us some tips. Well worth a visit for a coffee and breakfast.

Looks like a cute cafe from the outside, would not recommend the food here, I ordered a roast chicken sandwich. I got a bagel with what was definitely not roast chicken. Processed... Nothing seemed fresh! Very disappointed. It said the sandwich came with lays, I got a packet of salty crackers instead!

Cute looking café with tasteful decor, however the food left a lot to be desired, poor cream cheese bagel with bacon (ended up without bacon). Friendly service but wouldn't return.

Friendly staff calm area to relax with comfy couch. They let us hang out during a rain storm. I had a mojito Italian soda that was delicious.

The service and locale of this little coffee place is great. The service was even better. We ordered a geisha coffee, Thai tea, empanadas and a tamale. They were all delicious. Highly recommended, and it is one of the few places that opens early (7:30am) on the dot.

Had an amazing breakfast tamale here!Lovely way to start the day. There is also wifi and ample seating for working.

Wonderful location and they have a great selection of coffee and tea including geisha. We really wanted to stay here but the Wi-Fi was horrific at about two down and one up not even enough to do email. We would love to come back if they get the Wi-Fi fixed properly.

Excellent place to stop in Casco Viejo, the staff was excellent and very outgoing. Honestly they made our entire morning, would 100% recommend stopping here. The coffee and food options are tasty too!

Best cappuchino in town! The owner is soo friendly, lovely and funny. We came every morning! Try their hot croissant and the chocolate milkshake too. Everything is sooo yummi!

Friendly staff. However, we ordered regular coffee (de panama) and the prized Geisha coffee (US$9/cup). The regular coffee was not fresh, extremely bitter old. And the Geisha coffee by the time it was ready to drink, was lukewarm and didn’t taste anything like the Geisha we’re used to.

Charming little place in old town panama. Coffe was awesome. After a long time, we liked coffee taste and preparation. Really liked the taste. Croissants were good also.

What an amazing coffeeshop. We actually sat next to the owner Elise and her husband and they were extremely friendly. They talked with us for awhile. The coffee was incredible. The place is spectacular with beautiful artwork. It's capture of Panama culture was delightful. I highly recommend this being on your stop!!!

Nice little coffee shop on the corner. We had the Geisha coffee as an experience. Wasn't my cup of coffee as it were. We also had latte's and cappuccino but these were disappointing as they were weak in strength. Still the barrister was super nice.

Best coffee in town! Very cute ambiente in a typical classy look of Casco Viejo. The waiter is probably the happiest person of whole city and if he ask you for some baileys in your Cappuccino it‘s not a joke. Definitely recommend!

👍👍 A quick stop (actually, a 15-hour layover) in Panama City on my way back to NYC from São Paulo. Hailed an Uber to take me to Casco Viejo and Café Unido on the advice of a colleague for a geisha pour over. Guessing V60 given the Hario pitcher in the obligatory photo, attached.
