We were passing through and stopped by for one night. This campground was very well kept. Young lady working the office was very nice and helpful. Bathrooms were clean and all seemed to be well taken care of.

There are some great things about this KOA and some awful things so it ends up landing somewhere in the middle. The best things-- it's close to everything, plenty of space and it backs up to a wonderful city park. The worst- a train runs 20 feet behind you if you are on the back (right) side, there is a loud club behind that as well and the bathrooms are filthy. (the same nasty stuff- a dead spider carcass and a diarrhea splash- was there all week-- so I know it wasn't cleaned). The lady at the desk was friendly and other than the bathrooms it seemed clean/picked up. Verizon cell signal was very good.

Poorly managed. Although we had a fully paid reservation for a pull-through site, the people who had the space the night before decided to stay over & were permitted to do so. We were offered an inadequate tiny spot along the train tracks for a $20 discount. The office staff was friendly & processed our refund efficiently. Do not depend on this KOA even if you have a paid reservation.

Google maps doesn’t know where the entrance is. Signage leading to entrance was poor. No envelope waiting for us for late check in. No check in process email. Didn’t answer the phone or call us back when we left a message. We just took the last open pull through since that’s what we reserved and paid for. Still haven’t heard from them. Check in process needs work. Large site. Luxurious grass. Pad not level side to side or front to back. Easy enough to correct with leveling blocks and jack but surprising because it looks brands new. The whole place smells like the stockyard.

5 stars for the kind staff and convenient location. I will note since it seems to be new, as well as the hotel nearby, the directions to get to it are a bit odd. If GPS takes you by the city pool, you can drive through the parking lot around the back of the pool to get to it. Or you can go back toward town and go around the hotel. Either way works. Office opens at 9am, as a note for anyone needing to hit the road early. The tent sites face a grain plant, which makes a constant noise, but it didn't bother me because I was sleeping in my vehicle. Not sure how it would sound if you're in a tent. It's also right next to a park used for kids' soccer games, which were going on when I first checked in but were gone by dark. There's apparently an aviary on the east side, as well, and a bird (maybe a peacock?) would call out on occasion. The tent sites also have cleaning tables at the far end for any hunters stopping through, which I thought was nice of them. Overall easy, enjoyable experience, and would probably stop through again, should I be in the area.

Whatever you do avoid this KOA. My family and I had trouble on the road and were unable to keep our reservation. I made the reservation about 48 hours before we were arriving. Approximately 24 hours before our reservation appointment I had to cancel. Unfortunately KOA has a 48 hour cancellation no refund policy. The park rented out the space so they didn’t lose any money but showed no compassion for us. I hope that $60 was worth it. KOA has lost my respect and my business.

Nice park and we love Dodge City. Lots of history and highly recommend the Boot Hill Museum. The park could use a little love in terms of maintenance and customer service although Crystal saved us several times! The pull through sites are spacious with concrete slabs and grass. Picnic tables are generally nice and there are fire pits.

The grounds were well kept and the site was quiet, right next to railroad track but we didn't see any trains. However the on site bathrooms, which were open, had no power, no running water and the toilets wouldn't flush. No staff could be found.

Dodge City KOA, guess it used to be the Fort Dodge RV park? Google maps directions are a bit off, its right next to the water park on Park Rd. Great for a night stay or two, HUGE pull through spots, tons of parking, flat and level. Has a small store, 2 washers and dryers, small playground and an adjacent HUGE dog park. Can be noisy, there is a hill nearby where some dirt bikers and quads ride, and a train track right behind the cabins. Not a ton of amenities here, but it's a KOA Journey so meant for quick stays. Super clean too and maintenance always was out and about mowing, trimming, etc. Super close to downtown too. Would definitely stay here again if passing through.

Stayed in one of their cabins. When I told my husband I had booked a cabin at an RV park to stay in for two nights during our 8-day road trip, he was a little miffed with me. We rolled up to the Fort Dodge RV Resort he started to relax, seeing the nicely kept facilities. When we got into our cabin he told me I had made an excellent choice. The cabins are so great! Our kids were so excited to have their own room, and it was amazing to be able to put the kids to bed and stay up a bit later, which you can't do in a hotel room without disturbing the kids. It was so relaxing to be able to run to the grocery store and stock up for our meals that we could prepare and eat in our cabin's kitchen. It was clean and it was so fun and relaxing to have a space like this to come "home" to each night. The only con is that we had to move on after only two nights. I wish we had similar accommodations at each stop along our way!

Have to say that based on past experiences checking after office hours at a KOA this was different. No information at all when checking in after hours. The office closed at 3 and we had no clue what spot to go into. I tried calling and got no response until 10 ish the next day. No wifi, even after I got the passwords the next day. If you are in the end furthest from the office it looks like the signal drops out repeatedly. Clean area. Showers and laundry are in the main building, bathrooms on far end are not open. We were not able to utilize any of the facilities the first night because we didn't know where they were, second day because of our busy schedule. There are a lot of long term campers at this facility. A lot of noise in the area, bring your ear plugs. Wouldn't recommend.

We had reservations for two nights, but there was no one in the office, and no check-in packet with our name and site number waiting for us. The camper checking in after us also did not have a check-in packet. Many of the sites have trashy long-term campers in the with junk all over the sites. And the advertised WIFI quality is so bad it's unusable. Too bad, cuz the sites are pretty nice full hook-up concrete pads.

Great spot to be close to a lot of local attractions. Nicely kept campground. Would be great for those with kids or without. Especially in the summer when all the attractions are open.

Directions - call the campground. Our never fail new million dollar RV GPS garmin turned us into the back of what appeared to be a garage. Upon arrival at the very nice KOA the assistant stated that a lot of people arrive and tell them their GPS did the same thing. Sites are huge. Bathrooms have showers and all are very clean. The dog park is a shared dog park with the city. Next door is a small zoo. I was very interested in going but as of September 2023 is was temporarily closed for maintenance.

This wasn’t bad. I did laundry but the washers didn’t fill up with much water. Just barely enough to cover the clothes. The girls in the office couldn’t have cared less. The whole office/laundry room was really dirty. Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

I just needed a place to put up a tent and shower in the morning. The staff show up when they please which was very annoying since I needed to check in and there was nobody. The sign asked that I write my credit card details down on an envelope and slide it into a slot which let my details fall on the floor for anyone to find when the store opened up. The tent sites had ant hills causing me to switch sites and then one of the sites has a leaking water spigot which floods that whole site. There was a grounds keeper who was using loud equipment most of the time I was there making it noise and full of clippings. Kids and were blasting music, partying and riding around all night near the sites making it tough to sleep. The manager walked in almost 30min after the posted opening time while I waited to ensure the card details were properly disposed of, she ripped the paper a few times but was certainly not concerned with someone getting my card number. I should have just pulled in, set up the tent and left the next day without letting people know. Don't camp here as its not really for camping, its part of a public park in the downtown and its for the RV crowd. BUT It's a camp site, how hard is it to manage?

Nice park however, the office staff was like a robot, no personality at all. She spoke so fast you could barely understand her. The grounds needed moving and some herbicide to kill the grass burrs. The dog park was large and nice but had no poop bags so the park was full of dog poop. GPS has very poor directions to the park and there is very little to no signage to find it. We will not be staying here again.

We stayed here 2 nights. The rv sites had large concrete pads and there was ample space between sites. Restrooms and showers were spacious and clean. The dog park was huge as it was connected to the city dog park. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was due to dog poo everywhere! We have 2 dogs and pick up after them. It seems as though the long term campers residing here as well as the management team do not take pride in their park.

Great level concrete sites. Large dog park. Seems to be a new KOA, clean and friendly. The office has odd hours but we really weren't in need anyway.

Great KOA! Bathrooms and showers are big! Staff are all super friendly. We are sitting in the KOA building waiting for a very severe storm to pass. Did I mention they have an underground storm shelter here? 🤗

We loved that the back in sites were long enough where we didn’t have to unhitch from truck as we only stayed one night. We always stay at a KOA & have never had an issue with clean facilities but the showers here were disgusting. Large mounds of human hair, dried soap & dirt.

  • 2/5 Lena S. 10 months ago on Google
So, the positives: it’s very close to everything, and the buildings are new. Negatives, the park is not enclosed at all, with 2 sides open to very public parks, and dirt track used by locals. It was incredibly loud, and we were constantly worried that someone would wander over in the night. The sites are somewhat well maintained, but grass was very high rendering the picnic table and fire ring unusable. The value just isn’t there for what you are getting. Disappointing overall.

Showers were big and clean, lots were a nice size, the sunset was beautiful, it was pieceful. Staff were nice. Huge K9 Kamp for dogs.

Huge, level site that had all of the utilities in easy reach. Grass is cut and it's obvious that the property is well cared for.

Good stay but some idiot was blasting music until late. Nice concrete sites, clean bathrooms, did a one nighter and would stay again.

    • Concrete pads, so fairly level • Lots of room between RV’s • Decent cable reception, channel selection not so much • Unreliable internet • HORRIBLE Showers, no way to control temperature, push a button get ICE cold water • The blue haired girl in the store is not the friendliest person I have ever met • No staff on site when people arrive (office closes at 4pm), or most of the day • Park could use some attention • Would be awesome if properly managed • Close to train tracks

We stayed in a tent site. Very noisy. Really needs a fence behind the tent row and it’s a very bright area. Street light shined in our tent all night. ATV’s were driving through the campsite to get to the ditch. Had a kid come through our campsite from the soccer fields. People dropping off and picking up kids from the soccer fields use entrance of campground to turn around. It was clean, well maintained and staff was friendly and helpful. Not a great location if you want a quiet stay but is very close to many local attractions.

I'd like to give you a good review but I just can't. We've stayed here 3 or 4 times. Nice KOA but I have serious issues with your checkin process. Twice we arrived a little late (like between 5 and 5:30pm) and there were no checkin documents provided outside the office. On November 28th I arrived around 5:15. The office was completely dark and since it was after 5 I assumed it was closed. And there was no checkin info provided outside on the counter. I called the number on the wall and talked with someone who said that they were there in Dodge City. ok.... The lights in the office came on. Good! Unfortunately, the staff person who opened the door and helped me was so bored and disinterested that as I left to go get settled feeling welcomed was not how I felt. I felt like I had unnecessarily disturbed her nap.

We checked in and out over the holiday weekend without ever interacting with the front desk. It's Kansas, so it was very windy. Tent was fine once everything was staked out, but probably should have opted for the cabin.

Not to bad. Pull through big enough, concrete and level. Shares a large gog park with the city. Some long term residents speed and don't pick up after their dogs. GPS and Hoogle Maps directions into the park are wrong. Call for directions.

Wonderful KOA, big concrete pads and roads. A little had to get to but worth it. Dog park is owned by city and way too busy for a small dog. Would stay again!

Beautiful KOA! Clean bathrooms. Well maintained park, great staff. Walking distance from a free zoo, a water park, a city park, a museum, AND all of the downtown downtown tourist hotspots! It’s a real one stop gem!! But book early, this place is extremely popular because of these things!!

  • 2/5 Kaylee H. 1 year ago on Google
Stayed at the back of the park. Near the dog park which I love that they have but they do share it with the city dog park. There’s not any shade at this park. And it was noisy at night didn’t know if I was going to be able to sleep with dogs barking and the highway just wasn’t the park for us I guess. Since we been here no one has been at the office which was one night. And the showers barley had water coming out.

Great place to stay, very clean, however if you have mail or a package to pick up it is very hard to catch someone in the office because they are never there.

  • 4/5 Melanie S. 6 years ago on Google
Very nice long sites. And level. Everything is clean and new. Only one shower building though. We were there during terrible winds and had no problem with dust storms like other campgrounds in the area. It is overpriced for a campground without a pool though there is a new water park next door, I wouldn't call this a resort, but a clean, neat, level place to plug in and hook up for a few days.

  • 4/5 Karen L. 6 years ago on Google
Nice bathroom and shower facility. Nice long, level pads, easy back- in for our R-pod. Local attractions easy walking distance. Reservations were easy to make. Negatives; only no shade, or wind breaks, and no pool open past 6pm, no on site.activities for young people. Would stay again if arriving before water park closes at 6pm.

  • 4/5 Akimi W. 5 years ago on Google
Cute comfy cabin. Had two bedrooms. Living space and kitchen space. Nice bathroom. Two things I didn't like include the hot water didn't stay hot for long and the grass has a lot of stickers. They give you free breakfast from 730-930 at their holiday inn which have amazing food choices including veggie omelets, cheese omelets, turkey sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, yogurt, cereal, juice, milk, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, bagels, muffins, etc. So much! A/C system works good. The stay was quiet and peaceful.

  • 1/5 Maria H. 2 years ago on Google
There isn’t anything pretty. It’s just concrete and grass, no trees or flowers and the WIFI is unusable.
