My
husband
and
I
had
a
really
short
layover
in
Doha,
we
landed
at
midnight
and
left
at
1.30pm
the
following
day,
and
we
selected
this
hotel
specifically
because
it
was
widely
advertised
everywhere
-Hilton
app,
website,
booking.com-
that
it
has
the
“highest
indoor
pool
in
Doha”
and
that
it
is
an
inclusive
and
family
friendly
hotel.
We
were
supposed
to
spend
more
than
16
hours
on
a
plane
over
the
course
of
less
than
48h,
hence
it
was
very
important
to
us
to
have
access
to
a
pool
where
we
could
swim
during
our
stay
and
get
some
movement
done.
When
myself
and
my
husband
went
up
to
the
pool,
we
were
told
that
my
husband
could
not
access
it
because
he
is
a
man
and
there
was
“ladies
time”
in
the
pool
from
11am
to
1pm.
The
fact
that
the
pool
would
not
be
accessible
to
men
was
not
communicated
anywhere,
and
we
were
not
informed
about
it
upon
checking
in.
I
understand
local
rules
and
customs,
that’s
not
what
I
am
debating,
but
it
is
incredibly
misleading
to
advertise
the
pool
as
being
accessible
to
everyone
without
restrictions
when
in
fact
it
is
not.
After
several
complains,
they
offered
10000
Hilton
points
to
me
as
compensation,
I
accepted,
but
the
points
were
never
credited
to
my
account
2)
the
room
they
assigned
us
at
check
in
reeked
of
cigarette
smoke.
Again,
misleading
communication
on
the
hotel
part,
since
they
advertise
themselves
as
having
smoke
free
rooms
which
is
what
we
requested.
It
took
half
an
hour
to
get
the
receptionist
to
come
up,
validate
that
indeed
the
room
smell
was
disgusting,
and
get
us
moved
to
another
room,
which
smelled
as
cigarette
smoke
as
well
but
at
least
only
in
the
bathroom.
At
that
point
it
was
almost
1
am
in
the
night
and
we
both
were
exhausted
so
we
stayed
there.
3)
When
we
checked
out,
we
asked
for
a
taxi,
and
the
hotel
called
it.
5
minutes
into
our
ride
the
taxi
driver
said
that
we
had
to
pay
cash,
which
we
obviously
couldn’t
do:
we
are
foreigners
in
town
for
less
than
24
hours
and
it
doesn’t
make
any
sense
for
us
to
withdraw
money
in
local
currency,
plus,
never
in
the
3
previous
times
we’ve
been
in
Doha
we
had
a
taxi
refuse
credit
cards.
The
taxi
driver
took
us
back
to
the
hotel
and
when
I
told
the
front
desk
lady
that
she
had
called
a
cash
only
taxi,
she
rudely
said
that
I
didn’t
specify
I
needed
a
taxi
that
would
accept
cards.
I
was
shocked,
I
honestly
didn’t
think
I
needed
to
specify
something
that
basic
in
2023
in
a
Hilton
hotel
in
a
major
city.
We
wasted
over
40
minutes
waiting
for
the
new
taxi
and
as
a
result
we
had
to
rush
to
our
gate
because
our
plane
was
boarding
