The area is currently one huge construction site. The area is being converted from a freight port to a cruise port. There will be space for 8 cruise ships by the time of the World Cup. The work lasts 24 hours. However, the view of Doha's skyline is impressive. If you walk towards the city, you need to be fit. It's a good 3 KM to a promenade, again with a good view of the skyline. It's another 3 - 4 kilometers to walk to the city center, which is quite far. The photos were taken from the ship.

It's currently just the temporary cruise pier before the real terminal is finished. Inside... very minimalistic, the only counter for changing money is already overwhelmed by just a few people... apart from the bad exchange rate. The shuttle takes you out of the harbor pretty quickly, from where you can easily walk along the water... Until the miles of annoying construction sites start.

This will be a large, modern port, but we had a 24-hour construction site right in front of the cabin. This meant we couldn't give it 5 stars. You cannot leave or return to the harbor area on foot. You have to rely on taxis.

Doha in Qatar is an impressive city. The old city and the modern skyline opposite... The mix is ​​successful. Smaller than Dubai, very well maintained. Nice little harbor. In addition to the skyline, you can find houses in Spanish, Arabic and Venetian styles.

The pier will be sensational next year and the renovations will be finished then.
