This is realistically the only place to stay in this capital city. The location on the water is unmatched and the service was terrific. The room size--especially the bath-was impressive.

A total gem! The service was great, my room was very clean and looked just like the pictures posted online. There was local beer, rum and cookies in the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were nice. Will definitely be staying here again and would recommend it to anyone!

Had breakfast (7am-9:30am) here with 4 other persons. The service was great and the food didn’t take long to come out; they also brought everyone’s food together. They also catered to our needs as requested.

Frequent client/customer and its always a great experience. From the day pass for the pool to romantic getaways even birthday dinners and brunches...Fort Young is a family favorite. Quiet when necessary, hospitable and friendly staff. The food menu has changed but it's an 👍.

Go elsewhere.. Strange. Lots of staff, very few guests. Feels like a front for something, or perhaps all the cool kids decided not to stay there anymore and didn't tell me. Seems clean. Restaurant staff are nice. Front desk indifferent, told me to go online and book my own tours. It is a beautiful island, but best to avoid this hotel and Rosseau in general.

Location could not be better. Walk to everything. They will pick you up and bring you back to hotel which is a game changer. You can then rent your car at Roseau. Take my word for this you don't want to drive to the hotel. It's a long winding mountain journey. The staff at the hotel could not possibly be better. Ian the bartender is the BEST! Don't listen to negative reviews the staff here will bend over backwards to make you happy.

Absolutely fantastic service. A beautiful place with wonderful people. Truly kind and luxurious all-around. I highly recommend staying here. Be sure to tip generously!

Ordered Chicken Roti got some mushy, tasteless chicken with a lot of curry and over cooked canned peas and carrots wrapped in a tortilla shell. To add insult to injury the chef had our server inform us that, he was getting ready for the lunch rush, therfore we would have to wait at least 30 - 45 minutes for the rubbish he called food. Were it not for the fact that we were at a meeting and everyone's schedule was tight we would have left. The food was sub-par, horrible - no one in our party finished their meal. The only highlight was the server, she was phenomenal, friendly, gracious and professional. She apologized and did her best to make our experience positive, hence the reason for the stars. Fort Young must do better, and should live up to their legacy instead of banking on it.

Amazing dive operation based at Fort Young Hotel. Can't praise them enough. So much to see underwater and expertly guided by the team, super comfortable dive boat with great captains! Stayed here due to convenience of dive shop but was not disappointed by the hotel. Very high standards.

I appreciate the Hotel's very convenient location. Highlights: Great ocean view, spacious rooms and tasty food. Areas for improvement: small check-in area, no TV remote in room, was unable to fulfill request for early check in. The hotel is currently being expanded, so expectations are high for any even better experience the next time I visit.

Fort Young is my go to hotel when in Dominica Close to the city and on the water with amazing views, especially sunsets overlooking the ocean. I stayed twice during my last trip to Dominica The first room was one of the newer rooms, it was simply beautiful with artwork and quotes reflecting the pride of beautiful Dominica. The television had all the channels you need, bed was super comfortable and a digital A/C worked perfectly. Ice and water machine right down the hallway which was one of my favorite things because I love iced water in warm Dominica. Second room must have been one of the original rooms, very dated and almost everything about the room showed it. You can see that in the bathroom, furniture, A/C, television, smell etc. Upon arrival my two of my four pillows had no pillow cases had to call for some, could not find the light switch to the bedroom, it was past the bed between the bed and sleep sofa right above the bedside table. I could not find an ice/water machine so I had to the newer building to get it. I wanted to switch rooms but they were fully booked. The pool area has always been amazing and Palisades Restaurant and the several bars never disappoints. Reception and other staff were very professional and helpful especially Bedminster, he was extremely helpful and friendly. Looking forward to my next trip because I am definitely staying at Fort Young.

I havent stayed in the hotel myself but ive been going there for lunch since i landed in dominica 6 weeks ago and honestly im very disappointed in the lack of professionalism that’s majority of the staff members hold, they are very unwelcoming, they don’t acknowledge me and my family when we arrive for lunch, and it was just a overall bad experience as visitors to the hotel. I must say there are a hand full of staff that when they did see us they welcomed us with open arms and were very friendly and kind those staff memebers are Verona (i hope ive spelt her name right) i only remember seeing her on sundays and she was extremely lovely, serana (i hope ive spelt ur name right) who is the assistant manager she is also very lovely and does her job very well!! Ian, brenton, chaka (who is the manager) and majority of the gentleman are very kind and welcoming. As for the rest of the staff im very disappointed as hospitality goes a long way

Great experience. Friendly staff. Good food. Within walking distance of city center. Central to most tourist sites.

The Rooms are great and clean. Views are fantastic. Housekeeping does a great job. The hotel though is let down by the F&B staff who are slow, unattentive and give the impression you are bothering them. There are a few exceptions. Hilton in the bar was very nice. The hotel is in a good location as long as it is not cruise ship season and covered in people. Dive shop guys are very nice. We preferred the diving with Nature Island dive down in Soufriere though.

Amazing hotel. Good food. In the heart of the city so you can go walking through the city. The room is amazing. Great bed. Massive bathroom Only issue- towels were a bit thin and hard.

First the positive. My room was recently renovated and a nice size. A couple of the Dive staff were truly amazing people including Brad and Fran, and I genuinely enjoyed and appreciated diving with them. Other dive staff people were just ok. In my experience, the front desk and restaurant staff provided very poor service. The cleaning staff for my room provided poor service. Tissue/Kleenex was not refilled. My towels were not replaced. I had to call for towels that were missing. I thought the food at the restaurants was not good. I would not come back.

The hotel was remodeled recently. First impression was quiet nice, but when looking at details there is a lot of room for improvement. After booking we received an email of the concierge with the offer to contact the hotel if we have questions. We did so, got an answer 9 days later just shortly before we arrived. There was still noise of the construction work - we were informed of the construction after booking. In the room (completely new building) the curtains could not be opened and it was hardly possible to is the toilet as it flipped completely to the front when trying to sit down. We reported both issues - nothing changed. Food at the poolbar took 1.5hrs and tables were full with plates for hours. During the check-out we mentioned all issues again and just received an ‚oh ok‘. Overall and especially with regard to the high prices quiet disappointing.

Superb location in the heart of Roseau. Rooms rivaling 4 Star resort or better. Really enjoyed our stay. The staff especially the security personnel were fabulous.

Disappointed in the amount of time we had to wait after having made reservations for a birthday lunch, and the menu options, but the food was well prepared. Beautiful ambiance. Wait staff was good.

Rooms are nice size and balcony is a great plus. Rooms are clean but maintenance could be better. Lamp was broken in my room plumbing problems in another room . Staff disregarded do not disturb signs. Restaurant was very very slow.

Background Stayed for 4 nights during COVID times, so I'm not sure if the CONs were due to the difficult circumstances that the pandemic has put on most tourist destinations. Pros -The restaurant is one of the nicest restaurants in Dominica and the staff in the restaurant were really nice! We thought the food was great and when we requested lobster one night in advance they delivered to perfection. Again the restaurant staff were really super nice! The passion fruit margarita was amazing. -We liked the room (spacious bathroom, renovated-- great AC) and how it overlooked the ocean (great view!!!!). The bed was very comfortable and the balcony was very spacious and we liked the balcony chairs super comfy. It's important to note: When the cruise ships come in (often), they block the view of the sunset and are an eye sore which is unfortunate but good to know in advance so one is not disappointed -The pool and hot tub are amazing and share that great view, made even better bc when we were there the hotel was virtually empty due to COVID times - The maid service was good but they really didn't replace any of the toiletries when out, I'm assuming this is bc they are cutting corners due to covid loss. Not a deal breaker just a bit minimal effort. Cons - The continental breakfast was included but really mostly carbs. The healthy breakfast had an omelet but it was only egg whites, this I felt could have been made better by some veggies which I don't think would be asking for too much. - The front desk staff were really not accommodating and made no effort and had clearly no proper training in costumer service. Not sure why that would continue in a hotel of this caliber. - They do try to nickle and dime you at every turn so you just need to be aware to verify everything. When we ordered a bottle upon arrival, they put the most expensive champagne bottle of champagne without telling us the price when online it was so much less expensive bc it was a different bottle. The local calls from the room are quite expensive. Things like that put a bad taste in your mouth unfortunately but we didn't let it ruin out trip and had a great time despite that! Def recommend the canyon experience for the active and adventurous folks! - Pool bar was closed during COVID times

A very nice place to stay with friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, the place where the cruise ships dock is right next to the hotel.

I was unable to get to Dominica for my scuba diving trip due to Airline issues. I spent 2 days in Puerto Rico trying to get to Dominica but was unsuccessful, thus flew back home to the US. The travel agency tried to get a voucher from the hotel for a future stay as most hotels will provide this, but Fort Young would not. They wouldn't even refund a pre-paid canyon excursion! I did reach out to the hotel personally and they didn't even respond. This is the first time that I have ever had any type of travel issue where I could not get to my destination. Due to the remote location and extremely limited ways of getting to this island, be warned, if you don't make it there, they will not work with you at all for a future stay or any type of compensation. I also highly recommend trip insurance that would cover "any reason". I had DAN travel insurance but they won't cover the trip either....total waste of money! Fort Young, you not only lost me as a future customer, you lost the travel agency business as well.

Unsafe and risky Covid quarantine practices and terrible customer service If you book this hotel and are not quarantining (i.e. you have been in Dominica for a while and have completed your quarantine elsewhere), please be aware that Safe in Nature quarantine guests are allowed to access all areas of the hotel, including the pool, and mask-wearing and social distancing are not enforced. i.e. these people are not actually in quarantine! We also did not see any cleaning of common areas whilst we were there, which was not at all reassuring. Dominica has done superbly well in controlling the virus, but these poor practices put all this at risk. The customer service is also extremely poor. When I asked to speak to a manager regarding this issue, to understand their "policy" on quarantining guests, I was told no-one was available but that someone would "definitely get back to me". Despite requesting again 4 hours later to speak to someone, no-one ever got back to me. The breakfast service is very, very slow - expect to wait 30-40mins for a simple continental breakfast to be served, despite there only being three or four tables occupied. There is a general lack of concern for guest well-being and satisfaction, which I have never experienced in similar hotels the world over. The rooms are nice, with oceanfront views to watch the pelicans fishing, and the pool area is lovely. But the poor customer service means that this hotel is not worth the money and the lack of control of quarantine means that your health is put at risk when you stay here. I would recommend avoiding this place. It is a great shame as this weekend was supposed to be a nice way to end our 3-month stay in Dominica. We will definitely not be returning.

Very lovely hotel . Nice staff .Great food mix of different flavours and variety. Beautiful sea and view of Dominica's mountainous coast lines. Situated on the coast of Roseau capital of Dominica. Beds are soft and big feels no I think that's how sleeping on a cloud feels like (since I haven't done it) lol. Should visit

The views are great. The restaurant was pretty good, not the best, but pretty good. Took forever to walk to the ice machine. BUT, the room were quite spacious, the balcony's were great, the bathrooms were spacious as well. The staff was pretty nice too. If you are booking a stay in Roseau, I would suggest Fort Young. Right on Bayfront, near other restaurants, the cruise terminal, and market down the street.

I stayed in Fort Young Hotel in 2003 and had a magical time with wonderful staff that went out of their way to give us a wonderful experience. I would love to return some day.

I had an opportunity today to enjoy both breakfast and happy hour with my daughter at the Fort Young Hotel today. After many years of visiting this hotel, I must say, wow it surely has had its share of development. I am left searching for compliments. I would like to acknowledge Albert, Colin and Sarana who were wonderful. They atwere very kind to my daughter and I and expressed good knowledge of menu items and drinks for us both. The coffee, I must say was perfect, the pancakes nice and fluffy, and eggs came to us as requested, scrambled and over easy. To top it off, the local juices were not overly sweet and you certainly can taste the island essence. The view at the dinning facilities are perfect. You sit in an open air environment, looking out into the caribbean ocean. I believe my daughter spotted a few turtles while we waited on our meals and saw a few birds dicing for fish. Perfect t setting. Great place, I am proud of the progress made in Dominica. The picture is off the Goat water that we ordered to compliment the rest of our meals that night.

They took my money for Diving I stayed at their hotel for 10 nights and one only because it’s called for young hotel in dive resort I only got two days of diving. Completely ripped off

Renovated hotel puts you right on the water. Large rooms , beautiful pool and hot tub. You can eat and drink at the pool during the day as well. Walking gets you into the heart of Roseau easily. Our room required a flight or two of stairs with no elevator.

Beautiful hotel situated right on the sea with a gorgeous view of the sunset each night from your balcony. Beautiful scenic drive through the rain forest from the airport to hotel. Would highly recommend if your into diving as they set off 3 times a day from the dock based at the hotel. Breakfast was good and reasonable price For food and drinks through the day. Nice little walk out from the hotel up to Morne Bruce Garrison from the botanical gardens , with amazing views of the island.
